Bad controls keeps it from being a great game.

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Doesn't live up to expectations
Intense action Unresponsive controls
Addictive gameplay

I gave this game 3 stars, because its has one of the worst control I've ever played. The lag delay is so bad, its frustrating, and nauseating. It doesn't matter how much you adjust the speed the lag is always there.
I also don't like the fact you Can Not change the button layouts. I can't understand why they place the zoom button on R3 and not L1, is beyond me.
Otherwise, this is a great game and i would have rate it with 5 stars.

KILLZONE 2

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Unresponsive controls
Intense action

My first reaction as the opening sequence started to play was simply "wow this looks great" could game play actually look this great. Simple answer "yeah it does." As the action started and the bullets were flying all around my head it hit me that the controls are somewhat sluggish and it took some getting use to. Getting the hang of the controls I fought my way through the intense fire fights of single player ,while enjoying the great audio dialogues and the amazing visuals.

After the smoke from the grenades cleared an the shroud of newness the game emits wore off It still gets a solid spot in my heart as a great FPS that I will enjoy to play many times into the future.

Killzone 2

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Unresponsive controls
Awesome audio
Loads of content
Intense action

Let's start off by saying Killzone 2 is drop dead gorgeous. It surpasses any other console game I have played when it comes to the graphics. The audio is no slouch either as the sound of bullets ricocheting off the environment put you right in the action. The battles are huge and the weapons are pretty varied and all have the distinctive feel. The sixaxis control is one of the best I've seen yet on the PS3 and plays an important part without making it feel forced. One of the best uses of this is when using the sniper rifle you have to have steady hands to get the best shot. Offline the game is not too long but offers replay value by going back to collect intel, shoot helgast symbols and an offline mode using bots.

When you jump online, there are plenty of game modes to choose from with the maps being huge yet detailed. It supports up to 32 players and the battles can get crazy. When you rank up, you unlock different guns and can collect ribbons to get extra perks like increasing the amount of grenades you can carry. You can also earn classes like the medic to heal wounded allies, set up turrets, spawn points and ar support. The action moves pretty fast and you can join games that switch game modes within the actual level so your objectives range from strait team deathmatch to assassinate an opposing team player

So lets recap. Intense action that looks amazing, great sound and plenty of options online and off. Perfect game, right? Well unfortunately killzone is weighed down by delayed controls. When you first start playing you have to take your time lining up perfect shots because when turning you will have to fight against the delay. It's hard to explain without feeling it, but it leads to jerky movements that can get you killed. It takes time to get used to and the settings need to be tweaked on your controller. Often when aiming, it is almost impossible to shoot down a sprinting enemy because you can never catch up to him, it just feels to slow. Also, when taking bullet damage it becomes almost impossible to see towards the end (although I'm pretty sure that part is pretty realistic)

So, is Killzone 2 worth it? Although the control can be frustrating, Killzone 2 is worth playing just for the experience. The graphics and sound put you right in the fight and the online can be a lot of fun. It the game is patched for the controller delay, it would easily be the best shooter on the PS3. I recommend it, and will keep my fingers crossed on the patch. Easily a 5/5 with tight controls but I have to give it a 4/5 right now.

Even Halo 3 failed to live up to hype

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Doesn't live up to expectations

Killzone 2 is an average fps wrapped in a gourgous tour-de-force for the PS3. First of all read what I have to say and then you be the judge. This rating is for single player portion only. I love single player games so forgive me if I take the multiplayer as a second fiddle.

Killzone 2 looks phenominal! No, not like Crysis but like Gears of war 2. It's gritty it's dark and it pleases the eyes. Nothing shouted whoa in this game besides the graphics. It has an ok pace and the presentation is spot on.

However, the game is average at best. There is no surprising twist in the game and the enemies are retarded. I shot a guys helmet off and he peeks again at the same spot to find his brains over the wall. I could never get into any charcter. When my squad was pinned down I didnt feel rushed to save them......the dialog is straight from Generic War Speech.com. The sloppy controls and slow responce only adds to my dismay. I started sniping Helgans on a bridge at the beginning of the game and more came to the same open position to be killed. Seriously respawning? And dumb?

If you only have a PS3 and a HDtv and love shooters, check out Killzone 2.

Gears of War, it is not

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Poor storytelling
Innovative concepts Doesn't live up to expectations
  It's boooring
  Unresponsive controls
  Braindead computer AI

I severly lost my faith in the gaming community in general. IGN, gamepro, as well as playstation magazine all have chosen Killzone 2 as their editors choice. It seems to me that the Editors are not editing anything. The visuals in Killzone 2 are fantastic, as are the futuristic concepts. That said lets talk about some things that I feel did not deserve five stars. Control: the control is tough and jerky at best, it is not fluid or smooth. The cover lock concept is rough and not as near intuitive as it could be, it seems to actually work against you. You have cover points in the game but, you can only lock onto about half the textures. AI:
The Enemy AI seems to run around everywhere it wants, past you, through you, places you can't go. While your AI doesn't go anywhere, do anything except get hurt. You may go save them but, since they don't really affect, positively or adversely, the outcome of the game, why waste the time except to maybe quite their yelling at you. Overall concept, War games are what interest me, as do FPS games. Some are fairly serious similar to the Call of Duty series, Some may be just fun similar to Bad Company. All this games hold the same similarities that bother me. You have to to shoot the enemy a lot to kill him, You never work as a team, the enemy team has endless bad guys that pure out of buildings similar to a clown car at the circus. The enemy team as well as your teammates do not move in any such way that one would call tactical or logical. None however deminstrates these annoying concepts better then Killzone 2.
You may be wondering what experience I may have designing games that would make me qualified to make such harsh statements, well I have none. However, I have served in the Military for 11 years, 5 of which have been in the infantry, I have over a 13 months in deployment time. I have never seen in all that time any soldier ,friendly or foe, react like the ones in Killzone or even Call of Duty for that matter. This trend in games seems to happen over and over, never improving. It creates games that are mindless, joyless, and boring. It makes me feel as if I wasted my money and time. The designers only focused on the visual part of the game and nothing else and it shows. However that seems to be what is important when rating a game not gameplay.

One of the best Games of 2009

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Unresponsive controls
Awesome audio
Intense action
Addictive gameplay

Truth be told, I figured with testing the beta this game was not going to be all that well. But after playing the game in its final form I judged the game wrongly. While the controls are no Resistance, the graphics live up to the tech demo I saw long ago from E3.

Now I waited until the patch to write this but the patch might have been for network multiplayer, because I did not notice any change in the control scheme of things. Now it might not seem fair to bash a game on the control but as intense as the action gets I think the controls should have a loser feel to it.

Now as for everything else in this game, if i was not a Godly whooooo... I could say some stuff about this here. I recommend this as a buy if you have not already gotten it, you will not regret one minute of this action packed movie; I mean game.

Cooool

I am just lucky to play this amazing game i got it 4 days ago not going to say how :P . but what i can say that's its simply amazing non stop action amazing graphics . I am surprised that there was no training in the game to at least have some back round about the game you just start in the middle of the whole thing than gets a little like whats going on but don't let the first level disappoint you because after that is a whole another level of action not gonna say more just let you have guys find out by your self . oh forgot to say that when you finish the game don't worry there is skirmish for you to keep you playing for hours :)
