New Super Mario Bros. is basically a re-make of the classic Mario sidescrollers. It enchances the graphics, adds loads of mini games and puts in new moves. As usual, Princess Peach is captured by Bowser Jr. and now Mario needs to save her. The save system isn't very useful and you can only save if you complete a boss level or buy upgrade houses. The graphics are cool, as it's got 3D characters on a 2D background (which is also used in Viewtiful Joe). The sound is classic Nintendo, with catchy tunes and nice effects. New Super Mario Bros. is one of the best DS games out now and a must have for anyone with a DS.

INTRODUCTION: The Mario franchise has been Nintendo`s hit for over 25 years and is lets face it,what keeps them going.Times changes,game comes and go but nearly every Mario game is great.Ive never bought a Mario game i didn`t like,and i own many,many Mario games!Yet there is a game that really shined this past year,2006,and that was New Super Mario Bros.The game is great but following a classic simple formula that worked verywell and the game was one of the bestsellers ever since it was released. STORYLINE:Like if you didn`t know already!Peach gets once again kidnapped but this time by Baby Bowser and Mario must rescue her,the same storyline we all know. REWIEW:The game is just pure classic mario with few new changes.This game is based on the 3 original Super Mario Bros games and you still in fact play a 2-D game as you only see Mario from the side,enemies are mostly the same,koopas,hammer bros and you have 8 worlds to travel and everithing y`know.On the new side hey included some fun minigames that you play with the stylet pen and now you can grab a mega mushroom and get huge to destroy basicly everithing wich is a reason this game sold well,just classic game with a big,cool new feature to say the least. CONTROLS:Well you use the control pad to move and the A/B buttons to jumb and X/Y buttons to dash but nearly no use of the stylet,it is used for the fun minigames and to select the menus. HINTS:I will give a few tips for this game.When you are to chose your game data(1-3)hold down L and R then press A and you will be playing as Luigi!Also you might not have gotten world 4 and 7 that is because at the end of worlds 2 and 5 you have to beat the second boss while you are the mini mario and to do that ou will need the blue mushroom. RATINGS GRAPHICS:8/10-Mario games arent the ones who have best raphics but they are nice and look at those colors! CONTROLS:8/10-You only use the control pad and buttons the stylet is not used in story mode much,only for mingames and menus they could have done something with the stylet. MODES:10/10-The story mode is great,you have supurb minigames,you can play multiplayer in Mario vs Luigi or Minigame modes wich is nice. REPLAYABILITY:10/10Great cause the minigames,multiplayer and missed item in story mode will get you to play the game times and times again! OVERRAL:4.75/5-Just a great game especially the megamushrooms are cool and the minigames + multiplayer mode are cool. VERDICT:A worthy game for anybody`s DS library!

New Super Mario Bros. is good, but in a way, a dissapointament. New Super Mario Bros. is a cool platforming title which relives the classics. I would like to point out a few flaws however. New Super Mario Bros. uses the touch screen terribly. It has almost no purpose which completely defeats the purpose of the DS. You could easily program it so you wouldn't have to use the touch screen. You might as well make NSMB another overused storyline game for some other console. Otherwise, the quality of the game is excellent and the handling is superb like always. Still, I believe this game is a slight dissapointment to me. It could use a different storyline and Nintendo has got to help our red Italian plumber, but the game is still entertaining. Oh! And they got to make it harder. My brother beat it 3 days and others have done it in less. They could make the game longer. If you see the game online for more than $40 dollars, it's not worth your money.

This sgame is a great reinvention of the original and includes many new features as well. The game's a little short but was loads of fun from beginning to end.

its a very fun game but the most funnest one part of it is the mini games like the card games. i dont know what the most funnest game in the card games on the mini games is called but u will know when u try it.

If you love the old mario classic style then there is no reason why u should skip out on this one! Its one of the best. Played it all the way through and when i stoped couldnet wait to turn it back on and play it again! On top of the classic style u get some mini games that u shouldent pass up. Alot of fun!

It's really nice when we get a nostalgic update to some of our favorite games. However, very rarely does these updates ever turn out great, or even good for that matter. Thankfully, NSMB doesn't fall under that one bit. Let's break it down: Graphics: Look great. One of the prettiest games out on the DS today. It keeps the nostalgic side-scroller view of the original, while updating the look dramatically. We don't have the old 8 bit Mario, but the Mario from Super Mario 64 onwards. Gameplay: The level and puzzle designs are top notch. It's all about timing, and control. Plus there are new powerups: Mega Mushroom (Makes you huge), Tiny Mushroom (Shrinks you down), and lastly, my favorite, the Shell Mushroom (With a running start let's you roll around, and are practically invincible). Sound: Reminescent of the old games, while taking on teh style of the new. It's interesting, but nothing to lose your head over, as it will get repetitive. In conclusion: I loved this game. Really fun, and challenging at times. Final words:Such a great game, bringing me back to my childhood, leaving a smile on my face. (Cheers.)

THis game is a great DS game. IT has a perfect blend of koopa stomping and puzzles. THe graphics are good too. And there is even multiplayer, it is awesome! If you consider buying a DS game, this should be it. THis game got GamePro Editor's choice for a reason. GET THIS GAME NOW!

This game is AWESOME! But you couldn't get a 5 because you can only save after you beat Bowser Jr. or Bowser before you beat the game. That ain't right.
