True Artistic genius

With its beautiful and captivating graphics and its inovative and unique gameplay, Okami really gives its players the sensation that they are playing inside a traditional japanese painting. Join the incarnate god-dog Anstamaru Okami, as it searches for the lost techinques of the brush and voyages to destroy an ancient evil that has been locked away for a hundred years. With your unique use of the mystic brush, you can change the world around you by drawing on it. You simply pull down the partment screen and manipulate the elements(more once you've collected more techniques)to mold water, fire, lightning, nature, even wind to solve chalenging puzzles and battle fierce beasts. the story and minigames are captovating in and of themselves. Its simply tragic that this game was not scene for the innovative gem that it was upon its release, and that Clover could not have continued to make works of art such as this gem.

Great game...but

Okami is great, let's get that out of the way. Anybody with a soul will like this game. Only problem: the game is too short and easy. Furthermore, the language, while creative, pisses everybody off. It's gets aggrivating very quickly. THere are only two real challenges. #1: spider pit demon gates (X 10). The enemys get harder and harder and each gate takes longer than the last. Challenge #2: Blockhead Grande. You have to paint eight dots over a $^&##$ block of stone. You can't blow the dang thing up! It took me *gasp* two hours to defeat. Other than that, the game is amazing. I am not a person that rates a game on graphics (good game with bad graphics: Legend Of Dragoon) but the graphics...WOW! THey almost look loks an authentic japanese paniting! Gameplay is great! The enemy's will keep you guessing (my persional favorite enemy: Samuri Crows...they look so funny! but they kiiiill you!). The bosses are fairly easy except ninetails (sort of hard! As my friend says, "don't hurt the foxy". Sound: while the music is nice and authentic sounding, the language, as mentioned above, sux! What people(?) in that game fail to relize: don't piss off a wolf that has a sword! Anybody with a PS2 owes it to theyselves to get this game (and if you are trying to beat the game 100%, the guide too!)

Okami

A most recent game that has good graphics for a 2d-3d based game. the gameplay is teriffic and has a good color to the enviorment most of the enviorment is interactive and the other half is what will get you upset. There are boss battles but not so many in the beginning as you play the game the monsters get from easy to break there guard to easy to break your guards. overall it a great game. Its a keeper.

Zelda It Isn't

Its got the potential to be an awesome series if it comes to that.Slick controls, amazing art direction, strange story, everything i like. But it does seem to leave a stale taste in the,uh,mind. After playing it,you don't feel like you've played an absolute gem, though i have no doubt it will become a classic.Yes its a buy,yes it's still amzing, any PS2 fans should check it out,but those looking for an absolute "thrilling" title might not be completely satisfied.

Best Game of 2006

I thought this was the best game of 2006 no question. Someone went out on a limb and tried some new things with gameplay and it paid off. Like the wii, I think ps3 should find it's "new" games market and really foster the genre.

Okami

Okami is a fun game. Some people called it the zelda kill which i agree with. It built a ral emotional bond with the characters in the game so when it came to the end i found myslef sad. I suggest all to try.

Awsome Game

One Of The greatest rpg/adventure games ive played. I saw at a store and said that game looks pretty good. Than my friend anthony intorduced me to it and let me borrow it. Its a great game, awsome graphics, awsome gameplay, the combat system is easy to use.Overall the story line is awsome.I like the way capcom and clover studios actually made a wolf into a character. The character you play in the game is a god known as Amaterasu Okami, he and a man named nagi went into the moon cave one day to kill the all powerfull orochi. With the help of okami nagi was able to defeat orochi and put an end to the curse. The village was overjoyed. They both died overtime and put Amaterasu's shrine in the village and nagi's shrine in the heavens portal. one day somebody realesed orochis curse one day and he put a curse over all of kariiki. The lady god who watches over the villages and other areas of kariiki she made Amaterasu's shrine come to life so that he may be able to help once again. So than the adventure begins. I have not finished playing yet. This is where I leave you to play the game and see what the rest of it is like. Beautifull game!

Okami - Secret Weapon?

Unfortunately, i only rented this video game but from what i can conclude after playing this game for a week(plus 1 day = miss the due date), i can say that this game was a very UNIQUE and fun game to play. Personally, the reason for this game not being as big as it shouldve been was for the reason of the next-gen wars and prolly publicity reasons. The storyline is quite simple and there lies where it was such a good game. Sometimes Simplicity wins in certain games such as Shadow of the Colossus(PS2). Another factor in this being as good as it was, is the UNIQUE graphics. The only way i could explain the graphics would be saying that everytime you move or when you move the camera angle, it looks like someone is drawing every frame as u do it. You can see the ink bleed as u move. The graphics make this game a very unqie and one-of-a-kind video game for the aging PS2. Okami, in the end lives up to its anticipated release and gameplay. This would a be one of those game you would buy rather than rent, because now, after playing, iam thinkin of buying it. I would recommend it to anyone who loves adventure games.
