One Of The Best Games Ever

Pros Cons
Innovative concepts Terrible multiplayer
Just plain fun
Epic boss fights
Amazing visuals
Intense action
Tight controls

Prey to me is one of the best games ever, I can't understand why many people have passed on this gem. Prey isn't so much a shooter as it is an experience. It starts off with you in a bar with your grandfather and girl friend and before you know it your being taken by an alien ship along with the entire bar. Once aboard the ship you'll see that your not the only humans on that ship and that the aliens who have taken you grind up humans and use them as the ships fuel. Tommy (the guy you play as) get's set free by one of the humans aboard the ship and so begins your adventure to save your family. I like Prey because every room you step into in the game is so creative and diffrent from every game I've played that I had to just stop and admire what the developers had made. The same creativity
went into the gameplay as well, there are portals that pop up and when you step through them you end up and the oppisite side of the room from where you were just at and walkways that allow you to walk on the ceilling of a room and fight the aliens upside down while your at it. There is no death in the game instead of a game over screen when you die, the game has a cool mini game where you go to anthor realm and shoot spirits with your bow (one of the games many weapons) the more you shoot the more energy and health you have when you come back to life. There's ships the pilot, ghost girls that haunt you, a ship that's alive and the size of the moon, aliens with guns, some of your weapons are also alive, really epic boss fights, the ability to leave your body and walk around as a ghost, and everything else you would want from a game. I've seen this game for as little as $10 in bargin bins and I recomend it to everyone, it's just that good.

The Next-Gen Cherokee Kid

When I first popped this game into my 360, I felt like it was just a rip-off of Doom, with just some fancy altercations. Boy, was I wrong, very wrong. This game has brilliance written all over written. Everything about this game is perfect. The graphics, weaponry, gunfights, and platforming are pure genius. Even when you're in the spirit world, you are still impressed. The storytelling is incredible, & what you see happens to your grandfather & girlfriend shocked me to the bone. Overall, this is truly the next-gen of gaming

PREY!!!!!

Prey is a one of a kind first person shooter. For the first time in an FPS, dying is not the end. Prey starts out in a little bar. But suddenly a beam of light starts tearing the place apart, and abducting Tommy (the main character), his girlfriend Jen, and his grandfather. The first few minutes aboard the ship, or the Sphere as the aliens call, all the humans are being transported to&I guess the harvesting bay or something. Eventually a few people that have managed to get loose in the sphere before you get you off of the conveyer belt youre on. Now with the help of these few survivors, your trusty pipe wrench, alien crafts, and some very badass alien guns, you must free Jen, and destroy the aliens. You will travel to every area of the ship using small alien crafts, portals, and the very cool wall-walk. Now when you die in Prey, you go into a spirit realm. Here you have a bow to shoot red and blue spirits flying all around. The red fill your life and the blue fill your spirit bar. Soon youll be pulled into the middle of this room where you will be placed right where you were when you died. So there is no need for checkpoints in this game. I also can NOT wait for Prey 2. + No game overs + Great guns + Great graphics + Good story + Never have to reload until your gun is empty + Spirit walk is very sweet + Try to shoot yourself in the back - No game overs makes this game very easy to beat. Im sure there are more negatives to this game, but I cant think of them. So, this game is great all around, and I would recommend it for anyone. Also, Ill try and put positive and negative things in my reviews from now on. Now dont get me wrong, there are plenty of shooters I like way more than Prey, but it is still a good game. So play it and see what you think. Riddle In room of orange, blue is the way out. The Arbiter has spoken!!!!

Prey is a great game that only cost me about $18.83 at Wal Mart. The only weird thing about the game is the weir feelin headace you get wile running upside down in the campaign mode.

Prey!!

This is the first FPS for the 360 and its awesome. It had some of the most realistic sound i have ever heard. The graphics were good and the controls could get a little confusing when walking up the walls. But the game has some cool things i have never seen in a game you can walk up the walls same with your enemies and all the guns are alien technology.Overall this is a great title for the 360

Slider's anyone?

This game is fun. The graphics are very good (Not Ground-breaking but good). The sound is excellent, so good that when you arrive to the part with the spirit children they will send chills down your spine!! thats how good the sound is. Gameplay wise is very creative you have an array of portals which can bring you from point a to point b(Obivously). Some portals have to be activated some can just pop up without warning. This portal concept reminded me of the Sci Fi tv series Sliders. You have to be careful though because the enemy uses this method of transporation quite frequently(sometimes alot). This concept reminded me of the Sci Fi tv series Sliders. The weapons are very creative, the classic grenade has been replaced by a some sort of three legged green creature. You rip the legs off of it and throw it. It's quite unique.

A nice rental.

This game had the potential to be great. The story line seemed to be good, and all the characters seemed to have a somewhat likable characterisitics about them. It is cool to have a spitit form capabilty, which is where you can go to some areas by walking through walls and leaving your body behind, and going off as a spirit. What makes the game not so great, is the backtracking. There is no clear route to where you have to go on some levels, and when there is a clear route, you have to trace your foot steps back because you needed to press a button, to open up an area. Also I was not a big fan of xbox live, It was rare that I got a real game, that didn't involve people trying to boost there acievement points. When you did get a game the over all feel of some of the maps was not up to par with a lot of the other xbox live games. Overall the single player was alright to play it through to get acievement points, but if you are thinking of buying it, I would wait till either it is in a bargain bin, or at a garage sale. For now this game is a rental type.

Trippy

Prey is an origional cross between First Person Shooters and Puzzles. The first person side, is very standard. You get the typical aresnal of weapons (shotguns, machine guns, rockets, grenades) but all these weapons are totally origional looking. The shotgun is actually an acide spray gun, your mini gun is a scorpion like thing. All your weapons are living too. You can also become a spirit to enter areas the main character cannot and you can use Tommy's Cherokee bow as a weapon. When you die, there are no game overs, but you just need to shoot some evil sirits with the bow to come back. A nice touch. The puzzle part is very intelligent, trippy and sometimes frustrating. You jump from place to place using portals and use gravity bending tactics to get from Point A to C t D to B to G and so on. One perk about the game is it manages to hold a pretty solid storyline throughout the game. The creepy 1950s like radio transmissions throughout the game add the the element of fear. In a nutshell, living weapons, portals, puzzles, cherokee indians, aliens, a solid storyline and interesting boss fights is Prey.

Inventive game but has a huge minus.

Well Prey is a really inventive shooter, it brung new ideas, like fighting on asteroids with a diferent feel, gravity if you would. Puzzles like pressing some buttons so the walking panels( that allowed you to walk on walls and ceilings) were in a way that one could cross. Also the levels were creative, ugly, alien looking for short. The story was ehh until the end which really hit you on an emotional level very rarely tapped into. Another game that ends on a sequel will be released soon note ( i hate that!!!!). But the minus i mentioned is that there is no challenge at all, if you die one plays a minigame to earn their life back, that sucks. So the game is chock full of creativity but ultimately doesn't challenge one that much, plus it ends when the story's getting awesome. Hopefully it'll be released ( the sequel). Bottom line, fun shooter but besides some cool ideas here gets old rather quickly.
