ill never be the same again

Im 50 hours in and still haven't touched the main quest. Once you start playing you'll be hooked. I've played many other rpg's whether it be MMORPG's or turn based or otherwise this one takes the cake. If you have a 360 this is the must have game for it and if you dont have a 360 this is the reason to get one

Glitchy? yes, but well worth it!!!!

I know this game has a few glitches...well more than a few, but what do you expect from a game that is as B E A utiful and massive as this one. Not to mention that a game this size has never been put on a console before. Bethesda, as far as i am concerned, are pioneers and deserve credit for opening the door for future games. As time goes on and the 360 gets fully utilized, i'm positive we will see games just as good or better with alot less bugs! In my opinion Oblivion is still one of the best games out there....Do yourself a favor and buy the game even though your girlfriend or family will want to kill ya!!!

A new level of RPGs

First let me start off by saying this game isn't perfect. If I could I would give it a 4.8. What with the framerate issues, strangely acting AI (sometimes), and poorly executed autosave feature, this game is not completly without flaws. However, these are really the only things wrong with this game, as everything else is just amazing. Everything from the graphics, to the voice acting, to the open ended and immersive gameplay is enough to make up for the few flaws alone. This game takes what made morrowind so good, and makes it 10 times better, while getting rid of most of the weak points morrowind had, like the poor, dull battle system. Oblivion is an extremely large game, with over 200 hrs of gameplay, every hour providing a new and exciting experience that is decided completly by the player. Become anything from a noble warrior fighting for good, to a stealthy evil murdering thief; it's completly up to you. And surprisingly, the gameplay is solid and detailed no matter which route you choose. What really separates Oblivion from other games in its genre is its open ended gameplay. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I like linear RPGs to keep the flow, but many times I prefer to wander off and do my own thing; and Oblivion is the perfect game for this. You can spend 100 hours with this game and never even touch the main quest. Dungeon raiding, side quests, and treasure hunting are just as fun as following the main storyline. This is a must have for RPG fans. And even for the RPG haters, you may still like this game, since it is so different than most RPGs.

Best RPG ever

I don't usually like RPGs, especially androgynous Japanese RPGs, but this game is an exception. The load time is minimal and the graphics are excellent.

THIS GAME IS SOOOOO AWESOME!!

THIS GAME IS AWESOME! although its great and one of the most deatailed addictived and best laid out RPG i have ver played. The game gets downright frustrating. One wrong move and youll have to move back 2 or 3 hours because of the bad saving system but besides the frustration this game is the best rpg made yet... but hey. what rpgs have never frustrating?

90+ hours and still going strong

Where to begin... My roommates and I are playing the game as a Trio and have logged over 90 hours already. Since we have only had this game for a week, you can do the math and figure that our Xbox gets about as much sleep as we do. This is the largest most beautiful most addicting game that has ever been created on gods green earth. Instead of making up three different characters we made one character with three personalities. I chose to be evil and sneaky aka. The Dark Brotherhood and Thieves guild even though some people say they don't exist. Now with the Dark Brotherhood master, top ranked "Listener", I am just moving on to Thieves Guild. But anyways I am only writing because I saw someone gave this game a 2.5 out of 5. I think the only incompetent fool who would say that is someone, for lack of a better word wetarded, or doesn't know what Elder Scroll is know for or what a RPG is. Ohh did I mention that we have barley dented the game!?!?!

Immersive, intelligent, long, and the load times aren't bad!

Elder Scrolls IV is the best in the series by far, and having it on the 360 has given it a beatiful look. The game is easy to understand, and it starts off at a slower pace, but keeps you interested and entertained. I could not put the controller down, I spent 45 minutes creating my character and I made and named my own class! I have not experienced five min. load times, and they are not bad. The graphics and environments are gorgeous and one of the best I have seen. This game is well worth the money and has a high replay value. I own may 360 games and this is by far one of the top to own. Stop reading reviews and go buy it!

Long, but addictive

Oblivion is a great tale of a hero's journey through the world of Tamriel. Though the game may take you 60 hours to complete it goes by bfore you know it. You get so warped in the quests, which there are plenty to keep you busy. There are little things in the game to that make it more fun like trying to become Grand Champion of the Arena, or quenching your thirst for blood every night if you become a vampire. There is a lot of loading but it really isnt that bad because most of the time you are able to keep walking through the forest or if there is a load for a door it rarely lasts more than 30 secs tops. Lagging may become a problem while riding a horse and in the arena and big fights I found the block button or cast magic button would sometimes do nothing and other times cause me to take another swing at the opponent. But all in all the problems for this game are few and far between and is a must have for any 360 or PC owner.
