This game isnt good. Yeah it may have lots of characters to choose from but the moveset is VERY limited. Almost everyones combos are reused for everybody. Then theres the unlockable things for characters but that only includes special abilities. Atari should just stop making these games cuz all of these suck major ass.
One of the best games i have every played

OK lets get starterd. DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi is one of the best DBZ/PS2 games out their so far. IT is the first real 3D DBZ game for the PS2, a good one Sagas dosen't count 'cause it kinda sucks. The controls are a little different than the past ones, triangle is Ki burst, L2 is to power up, X is to dash, there is no seperate punch or kick button, Square is the character's origanal combo, to use th characters special allack, like Kamehameha, , you have to press/hold L2 and press Triangle and up or down. In this game you can actually fly at will, you press R1 twice, and when you are flying you press R2 to get down to the ground. There is a good character amount of characters in multiplayer mode, or free battle, and Ultimant Battle mode. They are easy to unlock doing story mode, but to get all of the characters you have to use this new feature called Z Fusion. Z Fusion also allows you to combine items that raise Health, Spead, Defence, Attack, Finishing Moves, and Super Finishing Moves. The graphics are the best in a DBZ game so far. The best character in the game is SS4 Super Gogeta, but it is missing some important characters from the series like Pan and Omega Shenron. Drangonballs also get you get characters, like Great Ape, Great Ape(Vegeta), Master Roshi, General Tao, and Kid Goku. The Dragonballs are easy to find, you have to use Dragon Dash, hold L2 and press X and the direction you want to go, and eventually you will brak something and an orange dot will be on your radar. That would be a Dragonball. The story mode in this game follows almost the whole story. It is missing Tapion and the dragon from that DBZ movie with Tapion, Giant Slug, and Garlic Jr. Overall the game is actually very good with some minor flaws, like the uncomplete story, and missing characters, so overall I give the game a 4.5 out of 5.

This Game Rulez. It has over 120 characters, 16 huge enviornments to fight in, and it's dragon ball Z. You blow things up, kick butt, and do sweat finisher moves
Close but not quite there

Tenkaichi took an inovative aproach to the Dragonball z franchise. The third person over the shoulder perspective pissed off many loyal fans to the series, but they don't see what Spike is trying to do. They are trying to break away from the arcade style fighting so common in games and are trying to capture the lightning speed and unique fighting of the series. The game does have its flaws however. The camera can be annoying on some small levels and the controls don't feel as smooth as the games in the past. I also noticed that different transformations took away the best moves from the old form. Whats up with that? I did like the tranformations at the start of the game though. It made it so you spent more time fighting then powering up. The story was pretty long. but the way it was told made me with I was playing Budokai 3. Overall this game isnt better then Budokai 3, but is different enough so if you buy it, it will keep you satisfied at least until #2 is out.
i liked the fighting style

I admit I was sucked in and bought it, but after seeing cruddy graphics poor fighting mechanics and just a bunch of chracters shoved in the series to me took a big turn downwards.

All Dragonball fans, this is heaven. All fighting game fans, this is the epitome of them all. No one would of ever thought that in the countless number of years Atari has been making DBZ games, that it would come to this. Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi sets the bar for scenery, mechanics, characterization, and all-around butt kicking. First of all, the backround scenery of the game is, for lack of a better word, flippin' ausome. The anime is brought back to life. The thing is...it's hard to pay attention to that. YOUR PLAYING IN A 360 DEGREE ENVIRONMENT.FULLY DESTRUCTIBLE. This was mindblowing to me. You can create tactics that you wouldn't even imagine in a regular fighting game. But hey, were forgetting about the 70+ characters and 100+ characters from DB,DGZ, and DBGT. the new single person transformations separate from the original fighters may seem wierd, but it is better. This way, the fighting skills are separate and more powerful than the previous form. The custimization was also better. enough chalenging so that you have to work, but not so hard that only God can do it. Overall, this game set an example. It says," Hey! I'm cool. Buy me!"
