First of all, "terrible multiplayer" actually means NO multiplayer. This was an extremely good follow up to Morrowind, which is still one of my top five games of all time, and upped the ante in the area of side quests and visuals. I had close to a hundred hours logged when I finally realized that I hadn't actually started the main quest yet, which was even more engaging, but the side quests did seem to get a little repetitive with the exception of the daedric and other more difficult to acquire quests. I wish, however, that I could add as a con that, until the patch that came with the GOTY edition, the AI was too good... way too good. The menus, inventory screens, map, and character creation was refined a lot from Morrowind and, although there are many things in Morrowind that I liked better, that does not take away from how good this game really is.
The best RPG to date. That's right, WoW users, let it sink in.

This game ROCKS! My only gripe is that there is no online multiplayer, but I guess it's because there are cheats. The graphics are amazing. There are a ton of quests, and the two expansion packs will keep you busy for a while.

It has not passed that much time since it was launched in 2005. If you want to lose time killing people and kreating mayhem in tha hole map well then you must get Oblivion. The controls for the PC are not the best, but if you have a great gamepad that has plenty of buttons well then it will be more comfortable for and even great game play. Graphics are the best in any T.E.S. game that has ever been launched to the market. Seriously they are great. Sounds and music are nice (Bethesda knows how to do it). So if you are bored of having nothing to do buy it or download it or however you want. GET IT!°!
You will never play a game that is better than this!!

THis game is the best game EVER the graphics kick ass and the combat AI is awesome the enemies don't die in one hit. and the fact that there are over 20,000 sets of armor in the game rocks. IF you are the hard corish gamer like me you will find this game to be the best damn game ever with the 130,00 dowloadable content it could take you a year to play this game to it's full extent. If i could i wpuld give this game a 6 out of 5
The most ballin'est game ever

I never got into elder scrolls until this version of the game came out. Immediately I brought it for my Xbox 360 to immediately trade it in as it had terrible load times, frame rate issues and it literally was unplayable on the box for me. I decided to give it a whirl on PC and OMFG this game is awesome, playing at an amazing 60fps with no dip in performance even out doors with everything turned on all the sliders set to max! The game is a dream, with more things to do then any other game, ride a horse and discover the land of Tameriel all 16 miles of it (and that in real time) the game is fucking massive (pardon my French). You start off within a cell arrested? or placed their? by coincidence the Emporer is trying to flee assassins who attacked and killed his sons. Lead by his personal guards the blades the secret escape route leads through your cell. You follow them through the dungeon, and after a few instances within this small introduction to the game you are then unleashed upon the games world to find that it is basically a living breathing world full of the most realistic forests, dungeons, people, towns, rivers, castles and all over scenery a video game has ever seen!! TRUST ME forget the xbox 360 or PS3 version get this game on PC its a blast and if this is what DX9 can do I simply cant wait for Elder scrolls 5 on DX10!!!

Many people are having worlds of trouble playing this brilliant game many people are perfectly fine with the indoor sections of the game but once they leave that sewer and enter the real world of oblivion all things go totally wrong. Its so easy to run this game when you put your mind to it and your finger tips as well. Simple let the computer select the defualt settings this will scan ur hardware and the game will configure what your comp can and cant handle, this is a good start off but dosent get you the well deserved FPS. download the update patch which gives u more options in the video section of the option screen. Slides the bars of things that dont really matter for your gaming joy like object distance this means little things like very small rocks and such, then you have landscape distance try and keep this as high as you can as when you climb a tall mountain and see how big the game is trust me shivers will go down your spine, then there character distance this should be set to just under half way and the same for the rest of the distance bars except for the grass, now definatly turn off sahdows on grass as shadows are really hard to render for most cards also self shadowing and soft shadows needs to be off aways cause this will give you about 20fps atleast trust me. The grass distance you will need to tinker with this feature and get it just right til you your self are happy with both performance and presentation sometimes you have to opt for performance. Now HDR is another frames kiler if you have an ATI card x1000 series leave this on as these acrds will have no trouble rendering the high quality lighting if youare on an Nvidia card 7000 series or above then tleave this on as opting for AA will kill your FPS even more whereas with the chuck patch from ATI the x1000 series cards will have little trouble performing HDR with AA thought the games polygon count is already very high its wise to opt for No AA at all and keep to AF more as distance is better in this game. Some other tiny features can be turned off but u wotn get manty if any more frames things like water detail, reflections, and anything to do with water is only really matters when you are around water so medium quality so better for most users. Alsoif you are using a card with 256MB of video ram or less then I strongly recommend you turn the texture quailty down to medium or low for anything lower than 256MB if you use a 512MB then there no need to worry this should be set to high anyway. Also you resolution will effect fps quite a lot the lowest I would go is to 800x600 nothing lower than this or its not worth playing the game at all, also Disable VERTICAL SYNC as this is the most important thing to disable over anything and will gain you countless fps esspecially indoors, if you are using a dual-core cpu then the horizontal tearing will be kept to a minimum with the extra core at hand. Hopes this helps you enjoy the best game of the year!!!
