Age of empires is a good game for the pc it has good graphics but the controls your bad and the sound. When people attack it hard to get them to react to the attack. Even for pofisanle to control it.

The empires strike back

Building on the already numerous tools amd infrastructure of past games in the Empires saga, this instalment gives you the ability to discover the New World of the Americas as an adventerous explorer with dozens(if so chosen) of settlers and soldiers at your disposal, befriending neighboring Indian tribes and pilaging nieghboring enemy settlements. One may choose between such world powers as the French,British,Spanish, Portugese, and Ottoman Empires. As you increase production of resourses, you may begin to rise through the ages of colonial developement, obtaining upgrades, newly atainable building types, and new technologies. Also, with the click of a button, one can return to their selected country's capital city and spend obtained development points on shipments of food, settlers, and even soldiers, ships, and forts. The story mode is however simply not to my liking because after the desired goal is attained, you abandon your current settlement and move on to a new one, making it tedious to even atempt to upgrade your current settlement. In the custom game, you have the option to create and name your own city. This is an excellent addition to the Empires series.

Strategie

This is a great strategie game and it is great for any game player. The game consist of alot of control and demand. A lot of attacking, this is game were you must have a good army and a good deck. The reason i gave a 4.25 is because the game is quick and there is alot of action.

Not as Good as #2

Everyone who plays strategy games on their PC knows about the AOE series. One of the most prestigious and innovative series out there, but it has fallen off a bi with this game. AOE 3 does not have the addictive nature of it's father and grandfather AOE games. And for a few reasons. The graphics on AOE three are beautiful. The enviroments come to life in front of your eyes and engross you in life like battles. The ships and boats in this game are sized accordingly and look great, but the graphics have sort of forced the gameplay to be shaky. AOE's gameplay is mediocre at best and definately not as smooth as the Age of Kings was.The second game and it's expansion pack, The Conquerers, had great gameplay which allowed you to move around quickly, move units smoothly, and have fun. The third installment doesn't seem to have that dimension. Another thing that bothered me was the units that are avaliable to play with. They just aren't as creative and fascinating as the units in previous AOE games, and they don't make for good battle scenes. This is because of faulty graphics during battle scenes between foot soldiers. It's just not as fun as previous games or any other strategy games for that matter. Sure the graphics give you a lot to look at, but that's the only really strong part in the game. This game deserved it's ranking of mediocre because you just can't sit and play it all day like you can with other strategy games. The campaign is also pretty bad, because the characters and storyling just don't get you into the game. AOE 3 tried to have success with a campaign system that Microsoft's other development, Age of Mythology, pulled off. Age of Mythology did it well, but Microsoft could not manage to have the same system done twice.

the aged empires

age of empires is a good game. the graphics have improved alot over the last one. i went to game stop and purchased this game about 3 days ago. im loving it, though sometimes i get a stale feeling from the game. it feels like im playing the samething over and over again. i was not drawn in like i usualy am when i play these type of game. and i hope you guys have a nvidia graphics card because you wont be able to see the best of the best in the graphics. all in all the game is solid.. great sound, great graphcs, good storys, and you can even learn a little about history i give this game a 4.0 not a 5 because sometimes it got boring and i was doing the samethings over and over again..gather resourses.. age up,, and fight ..and the ai behaives the same all the time..their so pretictable.. oh well good game though

AoE3 is best in the series!

I have been a huge fan of age of empires 2 but the 3rd instalment is the best in the series so far. Even though i wished for a longer campaign, it's still the most intense campaign so far. Evey level offeres something new so that the gameplay never get old. The story is one of the best that I have seen as it spreads over 3 genarations of a family and a home city which changes the gameplay. When your done with the campaign there is always the single player mode to enjoy. Even though i wish there were more nations to play as liek in the previous games it's still a great game. The graphics just blow everything alse away as the real cannon and gunfire actually blow pieces of buildings away. This is truly one of the best instulments in the age of empires series even with its minor setbacks.

Embrace history...

I enjoyed it thoroughly. My only complaint? Why is Germany included? They didn't colonize much in the New World. But I'm a nerd. The gameplay is amazing, that's all that should matter. Not for the faint of heart, though. Strategy buffs will love it.
