This is Goldeneye! It's supposed to be GOOD!

There's Goldeneye 007 for the Nintendo 64. Then there's Goldeneye: Rogue Agent, a cross-platform game. Despite the common name, the two seem not to be related. One is arguably the best first-person shooter ever made, at least in terms of its relevance when it was released. The other is just another run-of-the-mill FPS that doesn't make an effort to be new or original and seems content to just be average. Unfortunately, it fails at that as well. You have a golden eye implanted, which means you can supposedly pull off all kinds of neat tricks. Only one of these - the ability to throw people around the room, which does kill them - is worth a mention. The rest just seem like add-ons. Not only that, the rest of the game is boring. It's exactly what an FPS is like if you strip away all the fun. Which, by no small coincidence, is exactly what this game is.
simply awesome

this game is the best bond game next to agent under fire and the origional goldeneye. the graphics are awesome and the weapons are awesme especially the detonator.(even thought there aren't many weapons) the reason those other 3 gave this game such a low score is probably because their expectations were too high. they thought this would be a game like halo. it is nowhere near that but, in halo, can you use someone as a human shield and then throw them over a railing? are there machine traps in halo? NO!!! the only thing this game suffers from is those awesome driving missions and bots in multiplayer.
Goldeneye Rogue Agent: Good as the Original?

Is Goldeneye Rouge Agent as good As Goldeneye 007? Let me put it this way, hell no. The original was awesome, with a wide variety of weapons and levels, and also very inoventive for its time. Rogue agent however, is just a last ditch attempt of EA to use halo's control sceem to make some money. It also has only 15 weapons(You can't even use a sniper in multiplayer!), and around 20 levels, although you can decide which guns you can use during multiplayer, about the only improvement over the original. Multiplayers alright, as long as you have a couple of friends over, because there are no bots, which would have made the game a heck of a lot funner. The best level in multiplayer is a replica of Scaramanga's hideout from "The Man with the Golden Gun". Story mode is pretty fun at first, but you get tired of the repetitive level layouts eventually. The Ai is also really stupid, it is nowhere near as good as Halo 2's. About the only good thing about this game, even though they did copy off of Halo's, is the control sceam, which is the main reason i bought this game for, hoping that it would be the Halo and Halo 2 of Gamecube. OBiously, i was wrong. Basically, this game is just a substandard version of Halo 2 for all of the systems. My recomendation is to either buy X-box and Halo 2, buy Halo 2 for the computer, or wait until Timesplitters Future Perfect comes out in march, which is guarenteed to be awesome, unlike this piece of crap. If ur really into James Bond, just play one of the other games, as this game does not really provide insight to any of the movies, and is not worthy of the title GOLDENEYE.

It's sad because I was really excited for this game...Everybody was! The gameplay, story and everything about this game is just plain bad and boring!! It's not a 1.0 because you can hold 2 weapons. Oh and Visuals are pretty nice.
Are you absolutely kidding me???

This recent addition to the Bond world is a sad, sad dissappointment. Bearing the Goldeneye name makes it so much worse. Is EA serious?? After a few minutes into the game, I wanted to cry. What could they possibly be thinking?? The controls are not that great, the graphics, while clean, are just that... where are the destructible environments? Exploding barrels look the same EVERY time they explode? Computers dissappear when shot? And please tell me what is up with the blue sparks... Where are the little red spots and realistic enemy reactions like the first Goldeneye? I want my enemies to cringe and shake their hands when I shoot them in the hand. I want to feel like I am actually shooting enemies with bullets, not blue sparkly paintballs. It's like someone tried to make it like Halo 2, someone wanted it to be a game that little kids could play and someone just wanted it to suck. I cannot believe this game could be so bad. I cannot also believe that the other two users gave this game 4.5. EA.. Please pass on the torch of Bond to someone else.. It has suffered enough.
A Golden remake of a Classic

The name "Goldeneye" game says it all. Somewhat a "remake" of the 90s classic, Goldeneye is the actual character you are in the game. Why named Goldeneye you ask? Because of his golden eye of course! The graphics aren't to shamby, but may have been made a bit better. The weapons system is amazing, there's many unique combinations just waiting for you to master. Welding a shotgun and railgun at once has never felt so right. A lovely addition to this game is the accuracy croshairs which become less and less accurate when you continuously fire a automatic weapon. This stops those who rely on automatics from just firing at someone and expecting all bullets to hit because the crosshairs are laying on them like paint. Another cool added thing is the eye, which can do so many things you wish "you had one of those" in ever appliance in your house. His eye can see though obstacles for hidden enemies, Hack into electronic devices to activate traps, and aid him in battle. 007 may be gone, but this game proves that you don't need to begin with "00" to be sweet.
Beats the first, but left something behind...

The game starts out when you and 007 go out on a misson, and you're sort of supposed to protect him. Something happens and he dies... :( Once you complete your mission, you head back to the agency, and they kick you out for 007's death. You seek revenge against the agency by joining up with Goldfinger, and other classic villains. You can carry two different weapons at a time. You have default weapons, so if you run out of ammo, you're not defensless. Each weapon uses the corresponding trigger button. You can hit Z to do a melee attack, and stun the enemy. You can then take them hostage (oh yeah!). What that does is protects you from shots, and sometimes makes the enemy a sitting duck. You can use the Golden Eye to do special things such as MRI vision, which lets you spot the enemy through a wall as a white ghost figure. EM Hacking, which allows you to gather information on electronics, and make the enemy's weapon malfunction. Also, there's a Magnetic Polarity Sheild, which protects you from bullets, and a Magnetic Induction Field which acts like a human sheild, deflecting enemies away at will. These abilities use / drain a certain amount out of 100 usage points. Your points will replenish over time. If you avoid damage for a certain period of time, your health will auto-replenish. GamePlay 5.0: This game's action is a lot faster than GoldenEye for the N64. It's more fun, but left out the some things that made the first special. Sound 4.5: The music in this game is good, and I think it changes based on your performance, and the situation. Not as good as the first's though. Graphics 5.0: They're really good. Details in everything. The cinematics make it seem like a movie, real good. Controls 4.5: Some times you need to switch powers of your Eye, and that will take your thumb away from the control stick. There are some other thing that'll get you off guard. Also, I tend to forget about the other gun, since you have to use both triggers.
