Above expectations...

I know battery life might seem a little low, but look at what the system offers!!! You can definitely play for long enough, if you think the battery doesn't last when playing games, you need to get out and do something besides being plugged in all the time. The display is awesome! Can't wait for more accessories to come out......

PSP - Worth the money?

Sony's new handheld seems to be a bit over-priced. Is it worth it? The system costs $250, but comes with everything you need. Opposed to the DS or Advance, the PSP comes with a carrying case, memory "card", and everything else you need to start playing. Nintendo's handhelds require you purchase these things separate. Included with your PSP you also get the movie SpiderMan 2. The graphics are near perfect and the psp's design fits comfortably in your hands. The only low point is the location of the analog stick. It would be more comfortable to most gamers if it were where the D-Pad is, seeing as most gamers are accustomed to using the analog stick in games. So, is it worth the money? It's up to you. Some say yes, some say no. You will have to try it and find out.

psp crushes all handhelds in performance

psp rocks system is much better than ds as far as battery life they sell extra powerbrick and car power adapter. I would recommend getting your psp right now and getting free copy of spiderman 2.

Good for Grownups

I'm surprised no one has written anything yet now that it is available in stores. I got mine with little trouble this AM (went to an out of the way KMart). I really like this and knew I was buying it for myself with limited supervised use by the kiddos in my house. I bought NFL Street 2 to go along with it. Game plays well, loads are longer than I am used to. Spiderman 2 looks awesome, and now I can argue with the 15 year old that we do have an MP3 player--it's just not hers :-)

LOOKS OVER PERFORMANCE

PSP IS ALL ABOUT STYLE,I CAN'T IMMAGINE WHY DEVELOPERS WOULD MAKE GAMES, WHEN THE BATTERY PERFORMANCE HINDERS THIER TALENT.WHAT A WORLD WHERE THE USER HAS TO TURN OFF WI-FI, DIM THE PRETTY WIDESCREEN DISPLAY TO GET GOOD PERFORMANCE, BUT I AM SURE IT WOULD BE HOT WITH ALOT OF METROSEXUALS AND FANBOYS LIKE RUPAUL.

The truth, a short paragraph by fang

Its a great system. Sure it has its flaws, it can't show shadows, the square button isn't as responsive as the rest, something else, but so far its the best handheld yey. Plays music, plays movies, plays games. What more could you want, it beats out all of nintendos handhelds, period. So stop bashing the psp all of you, go out and get one, they're really great pieces of machinery. And the games are the best ever on a handheld. Its not hype, its whispers, of a revolution.

DS is just alright

PSP will be better. Also, I agree with the others. Who would want to play a game 4 hours str8, especially a handheld game? Also, everyone so far gave PSP a 5.0, so how is the average user score a 4.4? Makes no sense
