FPS butchering

I've gotta say, Metroid Prime: Hunters was kind of a butchering to the First person shooter genre. I mean, it was good and all, but, why did it have to be on DS? DS isn't for shooters! It's too difficult! DS is for racing games and mario! not shooters! The thing is, it should have been for something more suitable for this kind of game especially for the fast-paced boss fights, like, PlayStation, or, Gamecube, or, Xbox. Also I found the saving options kind of interesting...you could only save at the ship. It'd be nice if there were automatic savepoits like in most games, or at least in the pause menu, but in one place??? That's just rediculas.

A couple of things struck me after collecting my last weapon in Metroid Prime: Hunters. 1: I collected my last weapon 5 hours into the game. And 2: I just played unreal tornament with a metroid makeover. With these words said, a couple of you will like the things I just pointed out-if you've never played any FPS in the past 5 years. Despite the name, this game plays unlike ANY metroid game before ( or after ) it. It's like the developers decided to make this FP"A" into more of a FPS since it's on a smaller scaller console. (Which is not true, by the way :D) The adventure mode throws at you about 6 or 7 different enemy types, not including hunters, and about half of those enemy types just float or crawl around. Now, naturally, this isn't a problem in the other Metroid Prime games, because, naturally they're FP"A" s. (First person adventure's) Meaning most of the time, you're exploring. So the combat never really had a chance to get boring. But in Hunters, you'll see these enemy types every other room, which means, quote for quote, less exploring, more shooting. Which also means more repetition. It really doesn't matter what weapon you use in hunters, because really, they all do the same thing. (kill) And the boss fights, omg. Are all of the bosses in Hunters related? Because they all sure seem to look alike! Notice I haven't meantioned the famous 'hunters' yet in this review. And to be honest, why would I? They're only there for an excuse to train you for the multiplayer portion of the game. Point blank- DON'T get this game for the single player portion. It's repetitive, easy, and after a while, just playing boring. If it wasn't for the outstanding multiplayer included, my score for this game would be MUCH lower. And what a multiplayer game it is! You have everything that an xbox live regular expects, only on a smaller system. Yeah, the friend code thing sucks, but when it comes down to actual multiplayer gameplay, in my opinion, this is the DS's Halo. No scratch that-Halo 2. And really, the only reason some people are going to PLAY single player mode, is to unlock hunters to play as in multiplayer. As much as I hate to say it, it's worth clogging through the worthless single player mode, just so you can try out these baddies. Bottom line, if you have wifi, this game is a must for your DS. If you don't, you could always go back and get Metroid Fusion.
Best FPS on the DS

I got this game when it came out, and at first I SUCKED at it. It was the fist metroid game I have ever had. But then I practiced and it got fun. All I'm going to talk about is the multiplayer, because that is all I play. It is amazing! There is not much to it though. You can choose any of the hunters, you choose an area to play at, and you hope to play someone worse that you because a lot of people are really good. A problem, though, is the hackers. What you should do is just let them beat you, because it is impacible to beat them. But overall this is a great game.
Great Game

The controlls for this game are excellent. Whether you use the stylus or the D-pad, you shouldn't have a problem killing enemies. For a DS game the graphics are great. Though a lot maybe going on, it doesn't get blurry. Now, the online is magnificent. There's no lag. The game runs smooth and steady. My only gripe is that there should be more people to battle against on-line.

This is the best game I have played on the DS so far. It has great graphics, great challenges and great puzzles. The only flaw in this, and I agree with GamePro's review, there is no auto-aim.

Metroid Prime Hunters, takes place after Metroid Prime on the gamecube, but before Metroid Prime 2 Echos. Samus Aran, famous galactic bounty hunter, is on a mission to investigate, mysterious artifacts called octiloths. In gameplay, you go to different planets, and space stations, collecting the octiloths and blasting your way through the game. Now, your not the only one trying to obtain the octiloths, there are six different hunters, with unique traits and abilities, who are also after the octiloths for they're own purpose. In the game, you will fight all six hunters in the different planets, and after defeating them, you unlock them in multiplayer mode. In multiplayer mode, you can play WiFi, Single Cart and multi cart. In wi fi you can either join a private match or join a random game blasting people from around the world. Hunters has a lot of potential in gamiong, and is the online game you've been waiting for, I recomend this game to all metroid fans, and WiFi gamers.
Finally............a good shooter for the DS

This game is really fun and has great graphics for a DS game. The controls could be better, but that's about the only fault. It is extremely fun to play multiplayer online or with your friends. If you own a DS go buy this game. now.
this is one of the funnest multiplayer for the DS

this is a game that is only for use on Wi-Fi or multiplayer. The storyline is stupid and impossible.
