This tekken is more harder and bad-ass because it hit is super hard on the highest level but I wish it could be online so I can play other people.

If you are a gamer had you hadn't played this, you are a moron. this is truly a classic. it craps on mortal kombat, and other fighting games.

So, a little late writing a review for this game, but I just recently created my Gamepro account, and wanted to contribute to the site as best I could.Tekken.. ahh, the memories. I've been playing since Tekken 2 was released at the arcade. Tekken 5 was great! I'm glad they took out the wall reversal in this game, like they had in T4. I think the only reason I didn't give this game a perfect score is because of the lack of the "tag" mode. I miss that style of gameplay, and it would have been nice to have again. No online, but that's alright.. they'll have it soon, and it's not like we've already had this feature before, and lost it. Great game, one of the best in my PS2 collection.

After the completion of The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, a fierce battle between father and son unfolded at Mishima Zaibatsu headquarters. Jin emerges as the victor in this battle and continues to defeat Heihachi, his grandfather--but spares both Kazuya and Heihachi's lives in honor of his mother who loved peace. Soon after Jin's departure, a swarm of Jacks arrive at Honmaru and begin to attack Heihachi and Kazuya--and in order to escape, Kazuya thrusts Heihachi into the swarm of Jacks. A great explosion destroys Honmaru, and a man watching from afar reports, "Heihachi Mishima is dead." While many presume the death of Heihachi Mishima will end the reign of Mishima Zaibatsu, an announcement is made for the fifth King of Iron Fist Tournament, with an unknown replacement to Heihachi leading the organization. The fight begins once again.

Tekken 5 is the best Tekken to date. It has outstanding graphics, and cool environments as well as great character models which you can customize with money you earn by winning. There's lot's of modes, including Storymode, Survival and Time Attack. The storymode is much better than the story in Tekken 4 now as there's actually cutscenes in-between the storymode. It'll take you around 8-12 hours to finish the story with all the characters, but there's more modes. As well as all the normal modes like Survival and Time Attack, there's this mode where you play as Jin. The mode is similar to Tekken Force, except you can roam instead of following a path. This mode will take you about 3-5 hours to complete, so this mode will take up a bit of time. If you've always loved the Tekken series then Tekken is a must have or if you just want a fantastic fighter then you may want this as well.

tekken 5.... the best tekken game EVER! the graphics are top of the line and the cut scenes are beautifuly animated. the combos are longer stronger and a heck of a lot cooler than the previous games. it has a lot of new and old characters including mokujin, anna, wang, steve, christie, julia, and more. the customization mode is the coolest thing in tekken so far...there are so many things you can buy, even alter the color of a costume and buy alternate costumes for some characters. Devil within is a side story game that follows jin's past. it is even better than tekken force from tekken 4. the game even has a mode where you can play the first three tekken games. this is a must own if you love fighting games.

Tekken 5 is one of those solid fighters that are so much fun, but you just wish there was something else to it. Why not copy Soul Calibur 2 and make a weapon master mode? (Just change the name and kill off the aggrivating dungeon battles) The characters are all really cool and unique and each have tons of moves. The costumization rocks (King has a sombrero on his back and the adorabe Joey Jr. has a camera!!) The graphics are beautiful (watch the opening video) and I really like Story mode! This is a game worth checking out! As an extra bonus you can play the first 3 tekkens as well....I think they did it to show people that the 5th game is so much better than the 1st...or not Check out Tekken 5 today! P.S. RENT IT FIRST!
