I must say that I was very Impressed with Dragon Ball Z Budikai 3. I am a DBZ fan, but I was still able to rate this game fairly. The first two DBZ games were good but this one actually feels like the show. From the punches to the energy blasts it just kept getting cooler. Even the way the energy surrounds your body is cool. Fighting is just so fun on this game and with forty charcters to choose from it stays fun. The only thing I can think of is that there should have been I little bit more moves for some characters and there should be a little more space to equip your capsules. Other than that this is a must for a DBZ fan but can still be fun for others. Graphics:4.5 Sound:4.5 Control:5.0 Replay Value: High Fun Factor: DBZ fan=5.0, Non DBZ fan=4.5

Atari and Dimps have once again tried their best to give Dragon Ball Z fans a decent fighting game based on the series. It appears that they have finally reached that success with Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3. I am a fan of the series and of all fighting games (except for "Fight Club"), so I have played every Budokai game and even used to own Final Bout for the PS1. The two prevoius Budokai games were good and stayed true to the series, but they just didn't feel complete. Budokai 1 had cool cinematics, but was lacking the graphics; Budokai 2 had the graphics but they cut out the cinematics. Budokai 3 returns with even better graphics, but the cinematics are still gone. The developers have made up for it with tons of cool new features and still keep all the true to the series special attacks and moves. First off they have added some new characters, Cooler, Bardock, Brolly just to name some. Then they implemented the new "hyper mode" which leads to the dragon rushes. The dragon rushes are really cool and have that fast frentic feel of the actual show. It takes you through 3 button matching sequences that will lead to a combo from the attacker or a defensive maneuver. This is the coolest thing added to the Budokai series so far. They have also added a cool teleportation defensive maneuver whcih will allow you to escape oncoming attacks for ayour own free shot. On the other hand, after knocking an opponent back, the attacker can then teleport behind the enemy for follow up attacks. All in all what Atari and Dimps did was just add to the game to make it feel more like the show, and they succeeded greatly. If it wasn't for the slow, boring text sequences for the story, this game would be near perfect.
The Greatest Dragon Ball Z Game Ever!

No other dragonball z game comes close to this fighter! Packs with 40 dbz/dbgt characters and dbz movie characters as well. Cell-shaded graphics never looked better than this version. When playing, you'll swear you're a super saiyan 4 Gogeta kicking the tar out of your enemies! I've never been happier with a dragonball z game than this installment. Grab your wallet and spend your last dollars on this game- you won't be disappointed. It's worth the purchase if you're a true dbz fan. New comers would enjoy this game even if they're not familiar with the series!

So far this is the best yet especially with the saiyan overdrive system, teleports pursues and the hyper mode, but it is a bit more difficult to activate the ultimate attacks, and the only other problem is that we need to be able to jump Once we have that it will be perfect.
Throw away your other games.....

OH my god, do these screen shots look great or what. I just got issue #193 with the new DBZ3 game in it, and i have to buy this game right when it comes out. Just the look of this games makes me want to cry. with all the new things to do in this game it is going to totally kick some Butt. All the new characters in this game are going to be nuts, i cant wait to try out Uub, SS4 Goku, SS4Vegeta and SS4 Gogeta. The new Kidan burst they added looks pretty cool and i've always liked the regular burst mode from the other games. I just hope that the one player story mode (if they have one) is better than DBZ BUDOKAI 2 cuase that just stunk. It would be cool if they took it back to the way the first BUDOKAI's story mode was set up. The ki baseline feature is also cool so you dont loose your power right away. Plus the the evade feature should be very nice as well.
cool game
