Still Fun To Play

This is still fun to play. There is really no story mode but they main thing in the game is you go around in big battles and you pick a class and shoot guys and complete objectives. Really the objectives make no sense because if you complete them you still may lose. Overall its fun and the start of the battlefront series which has gotten better over time.

So I bought this game cause it looked good enough, and hey, it was like five bucks in Block Buster. Controls 1.00 The controls had to be the best part of this game. At times, in a hot battle situation, they could be a little odd, but they were still pretty good. Graphics/Sound 0.75 The graphics were decent. But I couldn't help but feel somewhat dissapointed at the lack of detail. The graphics were fine, especially for such large maps at the time the game was created, but I felt slightly let down. The sound was really good however. Gameplay 0.75 The gameplay was good. There were times, however, in maps such as the first battle where I found myself wanting a vehicle to get around faster where there were none, and other time like during the battle in Theed where I thought the huge tanks just made an obstacle that didn't need to be there. Also, the battles were all the same. There were objectives, but you didn't have to carry them out to complete the mission, which, although it gave you a sense a freedom, doesn't really mean anything since you don't win the mission if you complete all of the objectives anyway. Also, a few objectives in the game were literally imposiible to complete. Not that they were hard. It just couldn't be done. Story 0.00 I can't give this game any points for story, unfortunattely. This is mainly due to the fact that the game takes place during the Galactic Civil War and the Clone Wars. However, you just play the missions from the movies. No creativity at all. Replayability .50 There really isn't any reason to replay this game. Sorry. Overall 3.00 Ugh. What a huge waste of money. Rent/Buy Rent

Um...starwars battlefront is a well made game in a lot of areas. for example the levels and the graphics are great. there are plenty of levels and not one is the same as another. if u buy this game, u should considering its only 20$ now, play cloud city. that level is the ultimate sniping arena. another great thing about this game are the characters in multiplayer... its..amazing how many there r. i love just walking right behind a dude shooting and missing and they wont even turn around. the AI is so stupid and it was a let down. but its still fun shootin up people in like 2 pistol shots... battlefront 2 is going to have smarter AI, yeaaaaaaaaaHHH... buy this game!

This game is surely the best shooting game in a long time. It is also the best Star Wars game in a long ime, the best since the first KOTOR. With four different races, including CIS, Empire, Rebels, and Clones, this game is an awesome game that can be used for incredible multiplayer tournaments. It also features over 20 vehicles to pilot, even allowing you to hijack an enemy vehicle. Each team has 5 differrent types of soldiers: a basic unit, a scout, a pilot, a jetpack unit, and a demolitions unit. Each of these carry a secondary weapons, from blaster pistols to thermal detonaters, to small droids that pop out of a droids backpack. Surely this game is an awesome game that all STar Wars fans and nonfans should check out. However, there are some downfalls to it. Despite its amazing detail in graphics, the way the characters move is odd and jerky. It is very fun, but if you are the Clones, CIS, or Empire, ou will always win. It's very easy, but very challenging if you are the Rebels. But despite all of these tiny inconveniences, this game is the greatest SW game in my opinion, along with Bounty Hunter, and it is much better than Halo and its sequel.

I have to admit it, I am a Star Wars fan. Not to the point where I joined a fan club, or having Star Wars posters, but I've watched the movies, and I liked them. Here is a game, with a semi-mediocre single player mode, and the best multiplayer I've ever played. 3rd and 1st player views makes it a 2 in 1 game, worth every penny of the $49.99. Single Player is fun, but the A.I. that plays on your side sucks. If you want to take over a base, press RIGHT on the D-pad for your troops to follow you, and make a charge. Unless their are only 6-15 players left on the opposing team, your A.I. doesn't have the brains to take over a base/respawn point. Weapons are also limited, seeing as how the only good weapon is the assault rifle. The shotgun-like weapons suck, pistols are the worst weapons I've ever played with in any game. The Wookies have a kick- ass cross-bow, though. Good with friends.
Awsome game, what's not to like?

There have many Star Wars games in the past, some of them good, some of them bad, Battlefront can be counted among the former. The first thing you notice about Battlefront is the music, unlike some Star Wars games the music is direct from the movies. Once in the game you realize how good the graphics are, they look a little fuzzy but for some reason that just adds to the appeal. Finally the gameplay is topnotch with lasers pinging off the walls around you and the sounds of your allies screaming warnings. Anyway, this game is good no matter what, and great for Star Wars fans.

Simply not good enough, not worth the mony. Flying controlls dodgy. I was very excited after reading the cover and read you coul use any of the vechiles, including the X-wing, but the controlls are such a let down. Game play is same old, and boring
Star Wars on the PS2!

As the gaming generations have passed and new consoles have surfaced, we(the gamers) have been gifted with exceptionally good Star Wars games, such as Knights of the Old Republic, Rogue Leader, and Jedi Outcast. These gems have expanded the Star Wars universe while providing state-of-the-art gaming, although, sadly for Sony lovers, none of these titles came to the PS2. Enter Battlefront. The much anticipated and hyped game seemed a no-brainer, mixing Battlefield gameplay with a Rebels vs. Empire-Trade Federation Droids vs. Clone Army overcoat, although there is some disturbance in the Force(...surprise!!). The game is a mixed bag, and the only thing balanced here is the light vs. dark struggle of the game(in this case light being the detailed character models and enviroment, terrific squad gameplay[with various types of infantry units], and carefully crafted levels, and dark being an unbearable choppy framerate, thoughtless flight controls[no brakes!!], and dumb A. I. that leaves all the work to you). Also included are vehicles that are meaningful only with many soldiers fighting the same war, so online play is highly recommended(wich doesn't fix the graphical issues, so the Xbox version is also highly recommended). In any case, rent it so you can laugh about your initial "damn, its cool to kill gungans" reaction.(And sorry about that long intro on the story of Star Wars games on this generation-the PS2 hasn't found it's match yet.)
