Not perfect, but probably the best since RE2. It does fix a lot of the problems with other RE games, since the controls are pretty tight and it isn't hard to get your character to do what you want.

if one word could describe RE4 it would be, WOW! Every aspect of the game is top-notch, though the controls can take awhile to get used to. The graphics are probully the best graphics Ive seen on ANY system, they are beautiful and chilling at the same time. This is truley a gem in the sea of game titles. When I was playing RE4, I found my heart beating faster, i was sweating alot and my adreline was pumping.This is no ordinary game. Even though its freakin' scary it a a blast to play, and its addicting too. If you dont have a 'cube buy one! becuase the ps2 version is definatly not going to measure to this version,especially graphics wise. If you have one, thumbs up, but BUY THIS NOW! Sure its 50 bucks, but its worth every dime. RE4, in my opion could possibly be game of the year and certainly will never be forgotten by gamers as time passes by.

This game is perfect. I cannot think of anything wrong with it, i even love the 2nd person camera view cuz its different. After playin outbreak this game makes up for it. I bought a GC for this game and I'd do it again. The characters are great, the story is good and entrallling, the sound is the best, and the graphics are better than any i've ever seen! I think the best minor detail is rearanging items in the item box. This game is just...perfect!

First, let's get this out of the way. There are some skeptics who were a bit unnerved that the lead character Leon S Kennedy has to "escort" the president's daughter, Ashley around. Don't be alarmed. This is not Sherry Birkin. This game does what Escort Missions have so many times failed to do, add a degree of difficulty to the game rather than frustrate the person holding the controller. Ashley ducks, dodges and tries to hide behind Leon at the right moments, as opposed to Sherry who would slow you down by assuming a sitting fetal position. She is part of the brilliant AI, which is both a blessing and a curse. Blessing because you won't have to babysit Ashley for the entire game. A curse because it makes it harder to pick off your enemies, as they will bob and weave out of harm's way. Try to go for a headshot and some will duck, step out of the way or charge you so you don't get a clear shot. Don't blame that on the controls, however. The game controls better than any RE game to date. Occasional prompts to press certain buttons, along with puzzles actually add to the game. Audio? The music, albeit scarce in some areas, is very fitting for each enviorment. Fluent espanolbrings to life the European setting. Subtlties in the background, like when the wind howls you can hear "something" in the wind. Part of you wants to charge ahead, but part of you doesn't want to know. Also, this baby is pretty. Not in that lush Final Fantasy kind of way, but more in that stuff that keeps Stephen King up at night kind of way. Everything is finely detailed from head-shot splatter patterns down to the part in Leon's hair. You also have to apply strategy. You pick your battles and collect items to sell to a merchant to get more weapons, and upgrade the ones you got. With puzzles, mini-games and hours of addictive gameplay, hardly anybody will walk away dissappointed. This is the game that will put RE and the Gamecube back on the map. Well worth the highest marks.

Lemme just tell that dude who Gave RE4 a 2.5 b/c it was on the gamecube one thing... where PS2 lacks in the grachic department GCN makes up in, it will be better on the GCN than on the PS2 because it will be crisper and clearer and just look better, its the reason to buy a gamecube, i know i did three years ago, and the other systsem after, its better than aby game ive played( yes better that Halo 2 vissually and for true playablity) it will def sell way more on the GCN than PS2- oh and btw, all you x-box fans dont get me wrong i like halo 2 but w/o the 2 halo games there really wouldn't be an x-box.... RE$ best game ever- Period...

I give this game a 5.0 because the graphics are amazing, the sound is great, the controls are sweet, the story is just incredable, and the fun factor goes through the roof. It is really hard to get bored playing this game espesially if your a Resident Evil fan. You just never know what will happen next. I don't think I'll be disapointed with this game. Graphics: Great Sound: Great Gameplay: Great Controls: Great As you can see this game is just great! Really intuitive controls, very easy to get used to, great head explosions.. heh gotta love exploding heads. Variety of weapons with upgrades, grenades, flame grenades, and SNIPER RIFLE << Very fun to use! And plenty of replay value once you beat it, you get to go back through with all your upgraded stuff. Plus there are extra mini games/missions. Oh yeah and its LONG. Other Resident Evils not close. After this, you can't go back to the old style Resident Evil games. It's that good.

The game is one of the best game ever to exist! It was one of the big reason I bought a GameCube. RE4 fixed all of RE Series bad points. It has way beter camera angles.Way beter cotrols.The graphics are awsome.It looks almost real.If you are gooing to choose between Halo 2,San Andres,or RE4.I would go with RE4.

i think its one of the best games for this system definatly a must buy and unfortunatly there are people like zinpro and only like one system so please zinpro dont beat down a game just because you dont like the system and im sure its going to be the same game for ps2

Im a PS2 fan and i think this game is one of the best that actually exist, and maybe, maybe the best game (unleast until the zelda comes out) but remember Resident Evil borned in the PS an will return to the mother console (and the best) the PS
