this game is simply fun and keeps you on the edge of your seat. the next resident evil game should feature a multiplayer mode. FOR PC OR X BOX. think about it. you and 16 other friends are in a big city. forced to work together. while zombies , ghouls, gargoyles are coming at you at full force.. first person shooting like halo/ghostrecon2. think about it...

The moment the intro movie begins, a sense of freshness is diplayed in true dramatic fashion. Instead of the ol' boring "looking for the other members" premise, a dark, slick secuence unfolds with Leon narrating the fall of Umbrella while a creepy orchestration plays on the background. The new beginning here foreshadows an "anything goes" enviroment and a vast scope for the plot to fill. As soon as the game begins, you'll also realize how life-changing the new camera is. In a stroke of genius, Capcom has decided to leave the control scheme(save for the excellente new aiming reticule) totally intact. This new perspective(literaly) brings Capcom's vision of how a survival horro game should handle to completion and shows that they weren't wrong, just misunderstood. The other big change for the gameplay is the action button system, in wich you press the A button for performing certain actions(woo!). This mechanic could've easily turned into the most overhyped gimmick of all time(and that means pretty crappy considering the little hype it received) but it turns out to be a very strong ally, mainly because you use it for everything, including the cutscenes, wich blend smoothly on account of this. Wich leads us to the graphics, of course. A totally revamped gameplay means at least some sort of big change in the graphics and it comes in the way of no pre-rendered enviroments. The characters now look more convincingly alive, animate amazingly realistic, and are as detailed as the surroundings. In fact, the new graphics engine is so buffed up that Capcom decided tu format all the cutscenes in real-time. The sound is just as good, with the Leon voice actor providing a strong performance on a strong character. All the elements round up a survival-horror with a new focus on it's mind(more combat) that winds up making it one the best revamps to a dear franchise. With news spreading of a weak PS2 port on the way, all that's left to do is get a GameCube and this masterpiece.

I got this a couple days ago. All of the shows on G4 were talking about it. I wasn't too excited. I really don't like Resident Evil. But this is undescribable. The controls and graphics are perfect. It is definitly going to be game of the year. Even if it's only like 10 days old!

This game is so freakin cool it deserves a 10. The stunning graphics are accompanied by a great story line, excellent sound, and a cool new way to play the game. If you like Resident Evil you HAVE to GET this game.

I'd like to start off with the controls. The controls are much easier than any other RE to date. The new behind-the-back view makes gameplay more enjoyable and much easier than before, no more awkward camera views and no more wobbly running around. Since the camera view has been changed you now are able to aim manually. Your character is now much better in close quarters than in any previous RE. Now giving you the option to kick when you are trapped and pull out your knife instantly without having to go to the inventory. Another new addition is having to press the action buttons at certain sequences, such as running away from a boulder or dodging a bosses fatal blow. Once you play RE4, it's hard to go back. The best part about RE4 is the weapons upgrade system. You can take a weak weapon and make it powerful, or you can sell it to get a better weapon. It's sad that you can't purchase ammo though. Saving your weapons is good if you're going to play again. Another one of the games great additions is the action. It's almost non stop, there's always someone to kill. With more action they got rid of the puzzles which is a relief. Also there are a few minigames and sidequests which give the game some more replay value. Graphically it's not much better than the first RE, but they are still fantastic. The people look very realistic and the monsters seem real and alive. But even with all the greatness in this game, it has it's flaws. The second disc drags on, bosses can be very easy, and the muisc can be very repetiive. Overall RE4 is definitely one of the best games to come around in a while. This should set a standard for future Resident Evil titles.

What can I say Resident Evil 4 could be the best Resident Evil game ever to date. The brining back of Leon was the best lead for this game, because Leon is my favorite character and plus I was hoping to see ada again after the unpleasentness. The scare factor in this game is unreal, and the graphics are to cool.

Amazing! The new A.I. on the "zombies" is incredable. Although it makes the game alot harder, I'm impressed at the enimies ability to duck & weave and toss things at you. The graphics and weather make it feel more real than previous RE games. Although it can get really dark at times, the new over-the-shoulder view is great. Everything about the game was made to look like a real person was actually in the game. I hope future RE games are similar to this one.

Why? Because I said so! This is the best game ever made. Head and sholders. Go out and buy it now. If you don't own a Gamecube, buy one now. Don't wate till it comes out for the PS2 because you will be denying yourself gaming nirvana for 5 months.
