Killing just got better

Lots of characters to use. Having a move list included with the manual would have made it better. An RPG, chess, puzzle fighter and a two player fatality circuit makes this a geat game for those who enjoy the MK franchise. The Premium pack also includes MK 1. Having online for the games is great.

Mortal Kombat Deception

The game is great. The graphics are pretty good but midway could do better. Konquest is fun but gets repetetive after a few hours there are just to many side quests. Characters on the other hand were pretty good. I would like to see how Shaolin Monks turns out. It may be better lets hope it is.

Mortal Kombat: Deception

Mortal Kombat: Deception is one of the most enjoying fighting games I've ever played. As it goes with many fighting games, you beat the game with all the characters and then it's useless and you're on to the next. However, with MKD you have to play all facets of the game to unlock all the features. You have to play Konquest in order to unlock all the hidden characters. And once you get sick of Konquest or Kombat mode, you can play Puzzle or Chess mode. I am also thrilled with the option of playing online. More fighting games such as Street Fighter or Tekken should have this feature. My only beef with this game is that while many of the fighting styles simply do not exist, they also tend to bleed into one another and there is really nothing stark or even accurate about some of the stlyes that do exist. Otherwise, I would have given it a 5. I all, I can play this game over and over for many years to come and stille gain enjoyment out of it.

Kinda worth it for the fans of MK1, if you buy the Kollector's Edition...

The movements for this game are really weird. Jumps are very gradual and slow. It looks like they tried to combine the new 3-D format of MK with a little more realism and fluidity, but to me it just isn't right. I appreciate Deception a lot more now. There was a lot of skepticism, especially on my part, but the present sees me still with my Greatest Hits copy of Deception, and only the remake of MK1 and the Sub Zero card left of when I bought Deadly Alliance. Yes, I resold it. The game is huge with a lot of extras, and Sub Zero is cooler with a mask. Still, the control is awful. They even took out Scorpion's awesome R1 swordswipe. I found myself spending more time in nostalgic bliss with the MK1 disc.

Ode to the Fallen

I am a huge fighting game junkie. Fighting games take up the most space in my gaming library. There is something about kicking ass and not getting arrested that just appeals to me. Luckily, this 3D fighter landed in my lap. MK Deception is definately THE BEST in the series behind MK2. The graphics are, in gamer terms, tight. The controls have improved a lot since MK Deadly Alliance. It's no longer a pain to string together a combo, yet it isn't easy either. The gamer will need a basic understand of the characters' entire move list in order to make strings of combos on their own. One major complaint I have with this game is the character balance. Simply put, the female characters are worthless and are just there for eye candy (with the exception of Ashra and Jade). Don't get me wrong, I love playing with Mileena, Kira, and Li Mei, yet they don't stand a chance against a Kenshi or Sub Zero master. The females along with some males have short combos and worthless projectile moves that do little damage at all, while the top tier fighters can easily dominate a match. This really becomes a problem in Konquest mode. Some missions are really, really ridiculous and the game randomly selects which fighter you will be for some of the harder challenges. Thus the gamer will sometimes have to quit match after match until they get a good character. Speaking of Konquest, it is the most fun part of the game. I always liked the story to MK, and Konquest brings more of it to life. While I honestly disliked Shujinko, it's just fun to run around the realms and tackle insane challenges, although it can also turn into a nightmare. Also, on a side not, the voices in the entire game are alright, yet when you enter Konquest mode, they turn from good to just plain horrible. In all, MK Deception is a great game, but not without flaws. MK fans rejoice!

Flawless Victory

This is an excellent game. One of the best MK ever. It has very good news, as the Chess game, the Tetris and an adventure game. Each character has 2 fatalities moves and a Hara Kiri move (kill himself, not letting the enemy do the fatality move). Most of the stages have 2 parts and a Stage Fatality, but you don't have to finish the fight to kill your enemy like this. I recommend to everybody, even if you're not a MK fan.

Mortal Kombat: Deception

Mortal Kombat: Deception is easily the greatest fighting I have ever played. It is second only to Soul Caliber II, but come on, nothing can surpass the sheer awsomeness of that? Anywho, back to Deception. The fighting system has remained the same, pretty much, but I'm not complaining, because it works. The multi-tiered environments adds a whole new level of fun factor to the game. Multiple fatalities, Hara-Kiris, and death traps are all great. Puzzle and Chess Kombat add a whole new perspective to the game and the are stupidly addictive, especially chess. Konquest mode this time around is a wonderful example of how Mortal Kombat would fare in an action RPG. I am having fun with the Konquest mode, and so should most people who own this game. My only complaint is that.........well, I really don't have one. Plus as an added bonus, you get the Area 51 demo in the MK: D game. I believe this game will be awsome as well. By the way, IT WILL KONSUME YOU!!! !!! !!! !!!
