A premature review...

Now, I just bought this game, so let the reader use discernment. Yet, it is already turning out well. The missions/tasks/assignments- whatever you want to call them, occur more frequently now and seem more numerous. Moreover, the difficulty has been turned down, rather than traversing the realm of patience-testing. A race or mission has let up far earlier in the frustration compromise, which, I believe, is good. I don't think you should ride the patience of a kid to the limit, especially when they're so close to the TV, have a controller in their hand, and typically the TV is around all other household major electronics. Bad idea. Anyway, so far, everything's a 5. Control is a little loose, but doesn't factor into the fun of it.

If you don't play this game, you don't know Jak.

Jak 3 is the final entry in the great Jak trilogy. The series really kicked off with Jak II, which provided a great challenge, but sometimes had too great of a difficulty for some. For those of you who thought Jak II was too hard, then this is the game for you. Although this isn't nearly as tough as Jak II, it still is harder then most other games on the market. But what sets this apart from the previous incarnation is that it's mostly just challenging, not frustrating. This is more likely because the frequent spawn points in the missions and more health. Besides the tuning of the difficulty level, there are several other additions to the gameplay. The main one being the new Mad-Max style dune buggies. They control well for the most part, but the handling is a little sloppy. The Wasteland, which is about 4 times the size of Haven City, is very cool and fun to drive around in. Speaking of Haven City, you get to go back to this sprawling town in the latter half of the game. In fact, most of the missions do take place in this sprawling city, which might be disappointing to some, but in most cases, these levels are more fun. Also, the Dark Jak powers are balanced by the very cool (and very useful) Light Jak powers. The graphics and sound are great just like in Jak II. The high-quality voice acting also is back with all of the actors from Jak II (with the exception of Kiera) returning. The newcomers also do fantastic jobs of making the characters come to life. The greatly-rendered cut-scenes tell the compelling and deep story very well. Jak 3 wraps up all the loose ends, with the shocking revelation of the true identities of the Precursors and Jak. Jak 3 ends the series with a bang. With the new vehicles, Light Jak powers, bigger areas, well-rendered graphics, conclusion to the story, and best of all, fun and varied gameplay, make this a must-have title, regardless of what you thought of the previous games.

Jak 3 was fun, challenging, smart and is definitly worth your $40.

The Jak seris was the first platformer game on the Ps2. Last year, Jak 2 hit shelves with a total new look. Jak 3 is now out and if you were smart, you would buy this game now or at least rent it. Jak 3 starts a year later after Jak 2 left off. Jak gets sent off to the wasteland by, Count Veger, The throne of Haven City. However, Haven City is in a war between metal heads and KG death bots. Soon after you get picked up by, Damas, the leader of Spargus, the city where all wastelanders live. Soon after that you will be doing missons, driving offroad cars, and blasting away at KG bots and Metal Heads. You will be able to go back to Haven City but it's completly destroyed by the war. You'll see many of the orignal characters from Jak 2 such as Torn, Ashlein, Keria etc. The gameplay is really great with fun missions. Some of the missions are challenging which is great. Who doesn't like challenges? You'll rarely finsh a mission on the first try but after practise, you'll finsh it eventually. The graphics are great and so is the sound. The voice acting is great which bring out the these characters like they are real. The story in the game is great but still not as great as the story of MGS. But the story and game together is like playing a movie. The controls are a bit messy but you'll get the hang of it eventually. The only problem I hand with the game was it was a bit too short. You'll get 12-15 hours out of Jak 3. Unlike Jak 2 which had 20 hours of gameplay. However, there is more replay value than Jak 2 with a lot of secrets. The game concludes very well, you get to find out who Mar really is, who percoursers really are and who Jak's father is. Overall, Jak 3 concludes very well. Jak 2 to slightly better than Jak 3 but Jak 3 has bigger and better enviroments. The Jak seris are a must buy games. Jak and Daxter seris is one of the best game seris I've ever played and is fun and challenging. Graphics: 5.0 Sound: 5.0 Controls: 4.5 Fun Factor: 5.0
