This game raised the bar for storytelling and to this day, no other game reaches the amazing heights in the story( in FPS games anyways and perhaps excluding Half Life), the story has to be experienced, no spoilers here. The story takes different paths depending on some very important choices you will make.
The game is an fps with rpg elements, with combat focusing on gun fights, the rpg elements are minimal, there are things called biomods which let you access certain abilities, which is limiting but it's still fun to use, though i would have preferred more freedom in crafting your character. Throughout the game you are faced with missions from factions such as security companies and religious cults and you are offered missions which will put your ethics to the test, will you burn a poor family's plantations, just because they broke a law? Or will you murder someone important to you( and another faction) because a certain faction fears that technology is being taken too far? This is a game that really makes you stop and think about what you are doing, right or wrong. The final moments of the game are filled with shocking twists and the possible endings that will put your ethics to the ultimate test, i will not spoil anything here, play it and you will see.
The game world is divided by levels ( or cities), in which when you finish the main mission, and you decide to leave, you can never return, and then you move on to the next mission, moral choice choosing filled city, it pays to do everything in a single city, before moving on. And there are exploratory and npc areas ( where most of the time you receive missions and information), plus areas i like to call hot spots ( places where almost everyone is an enemy) where you do the main mission of the level. The game's addictiveness comes from the control you have of doing a mission and dealing with situations, picking up credits and buying enhancements, and stuff you can do in the exploratory/ NPC areas. The combat is good, you can either sneak into battle, go into it guns blazing, or even ( with certain biomods) use the enemies robots against them.
Graphics: The graphics on the other hand are hugely disappointing, with horrible character models and some interesting object physics that aren't used to their full extent., though light behaves realistically.4.50
Sound: The sounds does its job,the voice acting sounds good and believable, gunfire sounds good, plus there are some pretty great tunes ( by an in game pop star no less!) 5.0
Controls: The game controls kinds of stiff, combat is fun and entertaining but the controls don't have the feel of games like Halo and COD which feels like butter, and it's awkward having huge firefights in this game because of it, but everything else is great. 4.25
The game is big, filled with lots of missions, decisions and stuff to do, the game could have been deeper but i guess they simplified it for newcomers but they oversimplified the rpg elements, but still it's an amazing experience, the feeling you get when you make choices that shape the world is amazing, i found myself replaying this game again and again, it has incredible re playability, you won't regret playing this game. I was very pleasantly surprised when I began playing this game, for the 3.00 I spent on it I really didn't expect very much but half hour into the game I realised what a gem it actually is. The first thing you notice about this game is unfortunately the graphics, there are many X-box games out there with far better graphics on the market with far better frame rates than this game, but after bearing with it most people would probably get wrapped up in the first-class plot and lost in the immersive gameplay that they probably would forget about any graphical inferiority. This game I should add is much more of a first person RPG than a shooter, with many decisions that need to be taken setting you off on different branching paths, making it similar in style to a knights of the old republic game in first person style. Deus Ex is quite a long game and I beleive that even rpg experts would get a good amount of play-time out of it, also people who like to see every branching path and possibilities will have a huge game on their hands. To wrap things up, due to the relative cheapness and general high quality of this game I feel that anyone with some spare cash and a love for Rpg's should try it out Graphics-3/5 Gameplay-4.5/5 Sound-4/5 Lastability-4.3/5 overall-4.5/5

I really didn't know what to expect with this game, since there wasn't much hype and i didn't play the first PC one. The story is great and sucks you and makes you pick and choose different objectives and paths. That means no game will have the same path, and this is very true unlike games like Fable this game is not linear at all. My original file was accidentally deleted on my xbox a long time ago so i decided to restart the game and I went on a totally different path, and the story was different. The game is a true gem and very underrated.
William Gibson would love this, well maybe...

This Cyber Punk game is almost just as good as Deus Ex for PC. The gameplay is a little flawed, but the storyline is good enough to keep you fixed at least one time through. The replay value may not be worth the price if you can beat this game with a rental, but it should at least be played once by casual and hardcore gamers. The graphics seem a little dated, but the originality in the plot and abilities allow for some unique features not found in any other type of game. You can increase strangth and abilities with cybernetic implants and you feel like you're playing a spin off of Neuromancer. The game's story is a mystery intially to the player, but soon evolves into a crazy quest filled with guns, cybernetic humans and all kinds of crazy stuff. Rent this before you buy, but if you're into cyber punk this is a game for you.

Deus Ex: Invisible War is the best Action RPG that I have played. One could argue the reason is that there are not that many Action RPGs on the market compared to the traditional RPGs, but I believe that the game was so successful because it had a compelling storyline coupled with excellent game play. One game play aspect of the game I enjoyed could be seen as unrealistic by some....the universal ammo, but it saved much time in having to search for the precise ammunition for a certain weapon. I was still playing the game two and a half years after I purchased it...in fact, the only reason I am not playing it now is because I had to leave my Xbox at home when I went to college this year. The game was dropped down to $20 some time ago, but I believe you could find it at a much lower price now since the gaming stores are trying to make room for the new Xbox 360 games. This game is more than worth the price that they are asking for now.

Awesome RPG-Shooter- good graphics, story, cool up grades, and five ends. Every XB owner should play. You can now find it cheap in a bargin bin. Call it a warm up to the up-coming Bio-Shock for the XB360.
The best game ever! Worth buying an Xbox for.

The attention to detail is amazing. The graphics are amazing (bumpmapping is awesome and you PS2 fanboys are missing out. There are so many things to do and you can do things in whatever order you want. The storyline, though confusing at first is topnotch. No other game imerses you in a future world like this one. I just wish people knew about this game because they dont know what they're missing. It came out with little publicity and nobody I know has even heard of this game or its prequel. Help me spread the word so that more people get a chance to see what a masterpiece this is. Its under rated. It deserves a 9.0.

Deus Ex: Invisible War is a great game. You don't have to just play this through one route, because there are several different ways to beat Deus Ex: Invisible War. There is alot to do in this game(and alot to pick up and throw, as well!). The RPG elements make it a unique FP game, and theres action as well. Deus Ex: Invisible War isn't perfect though. The frame rate is not too great, especially when theres alot of action on the screen. Also, at times, it can be a little un interesting. Still, the good overweighs the bad, and if you haven't played Deus Ex Invisible War yet, I reccomend that you do now. Its a great game!
