best 1st person shooter ever

I have been waiting a long time for sony to make their own first person shooter. They did not dissapoint when killzone came out.The graphics are amzing. The multiplayer even beats that of halo's. You can have up to 14 bots in multiplayer, the most in any game console ever. The playstation 2 has not had a game like this yet. No more stupid bots, the A.I. in this game is incredible. The bots do not shoot you unless they see you, unlike any other game I have played. One of the best things about this game would definitely have to be the weapons. There are so many different kinds and they are very well designed. What impressed me the most about this game is the level design. Their is so much detail to the levels. The multiplayer levels are enormous. You will not find a better first person shooter than this.

Darkspm, the Xbox plays movies 2, so I agree ps2 is useless

Im having fun with ma Cube. Its better than ps2. Sry but the ps2 is out and you know it. The Xbox has more options and better featuers and capabilities as well as performance that ps2 cant match. Every one is blind and gives in to the ps2 side.

No credability

killerzone sucks killerzone is a game that try to copy halo but that din't happen because halo is such a good game all ps2 fans hate it because it kills ps2 by it's self not just halo all different kids of games for xbox like counter- strike ps2 is trying harder now because halo2 is out and that game kills every game for ps2 and don't be jelous of xbox because of the fun game ps2 don't have and also the graphics are better then most of the ps2 game the only thing that ps2 is good for is to watch movies and that is why the made dvd's. pS2 is nooooooooooooo goood!!! Ths guy should recieve no credit for his statements. He doesnt even know where to place his periods.

not as good as they said it would be

This game is fun-but an X-Box killer it is not. There are visuals that the PS2 is not strong enough to run, and glitches and limitations caused by the bad console. Killzone 2 on X-Box, maybe......

Sony may own a FPS, but will it withstand Halo?? The answer is....

Killzone is the first ever Sony published first person shooter, and to tell you now, Killzone is nothing like or compared to the Halo seris. But does that mean that Killzone is a bad game? Not at all but it could have been better if waan't affected by glitches and some gameplay problems. One the best things about Killzone is the graphics. The graphics are really great but the graphics engine is a bit too strong for the Ps2. The game suffers from graphic glitches which can get annoying at times. The sound is fairly well and so it the voice acting. The game controls well like any Ps2 FPS. However, Killzone has some gameplay problems. While the controls are pretty much straigt forward, the are no melee attacks, are buttons to jump or go prone. To jump, you would have to go to a ledge and let go of the gun and wait for your player to go over the obstcale which wastes some time and most of the time you get shot at. I also find throwing grenades awkward, it's a different button than shooting but you have press the L1 button to throw grenades which I found weird. The story is odd where the planet is getting overun by an army. The enimies pretty much look all the same to me and the A.I. was okay. Sometimes the enimies would just stand and shoot but then sometimes they would actually take cover.I found my squad A.I. was a bit weak also, they would just stand there and shoot and sometimes I would see them walk into walls. The game features 4 playable characters with each of their own missons which gets some replay value. The game also features 2-16 player online which also gives more replay value. Overall, Killzone is a solid shooter that isn't really bad or great. The game is fun but without online adapter put the funfactor to 3.5 Graphics: 4.5 Sound: 4.0 Controls:4.0 Fun Factor: 4.0 (or 3.5)

Killzone Is Pretty Hardcore

I have been waiting for this game to come out all year and finally it has arrived.First i wanna say that this is a pretty hardcore game were yuo have to use pretty much real war tactics. One thing this does that beats Halo in my book is like i mentioned a minute ago,the tactics. In Killzone you've got to really think what to do no matter what corner you turn no matter where you are hiding, you've really gotta think. The graphics are one of a kind considering that it is on the PS2.Everything is pretty much detailed. Also the A.I. is pretty much 75% accurate and some of the best i've seen on a game to date. The X-box gamers have been talking alot of smack about the game and i really don't like that considering that they don't wan't to ever see the PS2 get it's shot in the spotlight. This maybe not be the Halo killer and believe me it's not but it's a very good addition to the PS2 seeing that the PS2 has never really had a groundbreaking fps.Like I was saying it's not the Halo killer but to me it has just as much potential has Halo did to be a really good fps series.

O.k., But the best shooter ever?

A few years ago the world was introduced to a little game we all know a Halo. In the years that followed, most gaming magazines and gamers alike would compair other first person shooters to Halo as the gameplay, graphics, and story were ground breaking to say the least. In comes Killzone. In my opinion, Killzone is a solid game at best, but in no means is this game a Halo killer, espeacially with Halo 2 coming up on the right flank. But if you do not own an Xbox, this is the closest imitation of Halo you will find on another console. First off the graphics are pretty decent considering the platform, with it's grainy graphics and noticable jaggies, but decent all the same. It is without a doubt one of the prettier PS2 games around, that is until FFXII hits the shelves. The gameplay is a blatant and shameless ripoff from Halo, but hey, imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Everything from the control scheme, to the HUD is copied from Halo, even the no more than two weapons at a time rule comes into play as you blast through it's bland levels with clumsy weapons and anoying voiceovers. For a "Halo Killer" it doesn't seem to beat Halo at anything except to level of PS2 fanboy hype it's been receiving the last few months. Overall, I had some fun with Killzone, even though the PS2 controller is NOT designed for comfortable FPS gameplay by any means, the complete Halo ripoff style of play and presentation just made me want to play a real version of Halo all the more. Nice try, but how can you stop the unstoppable? Answer: Halo 2
