Once upon a time, there existed a game known as Halo. Halo would become the standard by which other FPS's were judged, as the game-play, graphics, and story were ground breaking to say the least. Enter Killzone. In my opinion, Killzone is a solid game at best, but in no means was this game a Halo killer. But if you do not have possession of an Xbox, this is the next best thing to Halo you will find on another console. To start, the graphics are solid given the hardware, containing some obvious jaggies, but respectable all the same. It is without a doubt one of the nicer looking PS2 games around (that is until FFXII hits the shelves). The game-play is a blatant and shameless rip-off from Halo, but hey, imitation is the utmost form of flattery. Everything from the control layout, to the HUD is derived from Halo, even the no more than two weapons at a time rule comes into play as you blast through its tasteless levels with awkward weapons and annoying voice-overs. For a "Halo Killer" it doesn't seem to thrash Halo at anything except the level of PS2 fan-boy publicity it's been receiving the last few months. Taken as a whole, I had some fun with Killzone, even though the PS2 controller is NOT intended for comfortable FPS game-play by any means. The complete Halo rip-off method of play and presentation just made me want to play a real version of Halo all the more.

ok it was...ok nothing special i mean the graphics are horrible, horrible single player, and why the hell are they trying to make an unsuccessful halo clone? *sighs* just dont buy it even if your a game freak who only plays horrible games....but thats just wierd

This game,before release,was deemed a "halo killer" but didnt quite live up to what was expected of it and was crowded fog that made gamers be dissapointed,although I saw throough thhis metaphoricle fog to see the awesome awesomeness of both the campaign and online multiplyer. Ok you start out as a leader in the remaining human populations army. You fight your way through slums and other terrain. I know this reveiw wasnt very goo but ,bottom line buy this game,JR out.

To me this was one of my best PS2 FPS it rivals Halo and it actaully though of having a sprint button which Halo neglected stupidly. I hate to bash Halo, but this game deserves a 5.0 and is a good buy now for only 20 bucks!

So I seen Killzone for $10. And straight away I got it. It is Fantastic. Its realistic gameplay made me want to play it more. The graphics are some of the best I have ever seen on PS2. The Online is Freakin Sweet. The split-screen multiplayer is great. The Story mode is a Hard but fun. Sure it was made to beat Halo but its eqully as good!

i played this for 2 hours and im like f---(they wouldnt let me put the swear in) this so i havent played this since i rented it.thank god i didnt buy it.this is one of those games that get so boring right away that you never play it again.i found this game easy but too bleak.i bet i would have had more fun playing elmo's ABCs.i dont know why i rented this,i could have rented a way better game.i got to the second level and im like,this is so boring. i havent touched it since and i still have it for 3 days!

When one purchases a new game from the local gamestore or whatnot, they expect an enthralling storyline, and various, differing levels of originality. When you look at Killzone, you see very similar levels, not enough weapons, and so much more potential. Online, this game is probably one of the best for the PS2, but if you are buying games for single player fun factor, look past Killzone.

First-person-shooters is one of the best genres in video game history. They spawn many precious tittles like Halo, Goldeneye, and Area 51. Before Killzone came out, Sony bragged about it being a "Halo Killer". Read my review on this rip-off. Let me get down to business. The graphics for this game are surprisingly well-done, especially for the Playstation 2. The sound and ambiance will bring into the experience. The enemy AI is respectable, and overall the plot is alright. But this game goes not without hiccups. The controls can be a little flimsy. When I was trying to use the sniping scope, It was hard to target anybody. This is by no means a "Halo Killer", but if you want something new to play until you get a Xbox, or waiting for the new multiplayer maps for Halo 2, than you can give this game a rent.

KIllzone is here many people thought this would give halo some compretition well it doesn't read my review. I love to kill do you well we have a zone you can kill in it's called killzone. People let me warn you befour you buy this game make sure you bought something good. Wait wait if you plan on buy killzone then go ahead unless you have an x-box.When you compare the graphics, audio, and gameplay to halo1 or 2 well the score of this game would be a 1 out of 5 but it's on ps2 so you really couldn't do that. Really there's nothing better in killzone than halo but in killzone you fell like your in a real war but in halo you just killing which is good. Also in killzone you can play as up to four playabl;e characters in halo you can't play expect one and in halo 2 you can play with two wow. So that about all killzone have over halo oh yeah I almost forgot and you can e-mail me after I say this ZAQ you need help in your brain or go to game mental hospitial because killzone will never in f***ing life that killzone will be better than halo. So it's on ps2 two so I'll give it the benifit of the dout since it is the best fps on ps2.It gets a 4

Wow I really wanted this game when I saw the screens, but GOD BURN THIS GAME TO HELL. This is no First Person Shooter, this is a First Person Piece of S**t. WTF were they thinking? The playable characters had no diffrences at all. The stealth guy wasn't that slealthy with the NPC A.I. starting a gunfight. If you want a good FPS experiance, play Halo 2,Half- Life 2 or Metorid Prime 2: Echoes.
