WWE SmackDown!: Here Comes The Pain is the 5th edition of the series. I think this good, like it or not. The Season Mode is alright, when you fight for the official WWE belts (why Hardcore Belt in the game, Bring It Back!). The Arenas are Live! (like the Venagence 2002 aRENA, why put it). When you put a new entry in the series it keeps better and better, maybe after i might review the newest on (SmackDown! vs. Raw). like the subtitle said Here Come The Pain!.

As the current game in the wwe series for ps2, i was overjoyed to find all sorts of improvements over the last game, WWE SMACKDOWN, SHUT YOUR MOUTH. The graphics have had an overhaul, and the controls are a giant improvement from it's flawed predecessors. While all these things help the game, i can't help but notice some annoying things as well. What happened to the ring announcer? And when is THQ going to put in a create-a-move? I would say that Tony Hawk's "create a trick" has been successful, so it wouldn't be that hard to pull off. And when will there be camera angles/pyro for your entrance? Wrestlemania X1X did this very well, and so has the new DAY OF RECKONING. Other than these gripes, this game is very enjoyable to both fans of the sport and newcomers. But, until I see SHANNON MOORE and JOHNNY STAMBOLI in a wrestling game, they will NEVER! get a 5.0

it needed more storymode, i beat it right in two days and it was very easy, this game beats raw 2 but needed more stuff in it, and it's the best wrestling game yet

This is by far the greatest wrestling game of all time. There are over 50 superstars. Every match type is in the game. (Except coffin.) There are 2 new game modes. Bra and Panties, and elimination chamber. Elemination chamber is one of my favorite matches. There are also legends that you can buy with money that you earn in season mode. Some of the legends are: Animal, Ted Dibiase, Old School Undertaker, Hawk (rest in piece, Hawk.) , Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, and others that I can't remember. Hillbilly Jim is a legendd avalable from the start. Season mode is by far the best season mode ever. You basically go through one year of a WWE or created superstars career. You start right after Wrestlemania, and work your way towards next years Wrestlemania. The create a wrestler is also the best ever seen in a videogame. And you can also edit the moves of the WWE superstars. The graphics are also absolutely amazing. There are hardly any clipping issues. A really weird thing that I noticed is that Jamie Noble is in the opening video, but then he is not in the game. Weird. They also have weight detection this time around. So basically, Rey Mysterio will not be able to pick up heavier superstars until you get his strength level up. But this doesn't occur on turnbuckle grapples or Smackdowns. Overall this is just one of the funnest games of all time. I stayed up 2 days straight just playing this. Oh, and John Cena rules. "You can't see me!"

Wrestling fans rejoice thq has answered all our prayers this is by far the best wrestling game ever.All your favorite wwe superstars are back and some old school favorites like super fly snuka even the old school undertaker BOO YA and there looking better than ever.Returning is the already stellear season mode we've come to expect from the smackdown brand this time no more annoying first person navigating through the arena this time you get the locker room menu where you can look for people to chat with superstars either gaining respect or brawling with them or talk to your gm smackdown or raw no cross brand in this one you can ask your gm for title shots or you can ask to switch shows if you don't like the way your career is going.You can also buy of the many unlockables in the shoping option.The create mode is bigger than ever now it's starting to take a good 45 minutes to create a charcter from the ground but you appreciate it.New match types include elimination chamber and for all you pervs out there bra and panties matches oh la la.Now for the new grappling system wich offers more moves and varaiety there is also a new reversal system that makes you use the face button's making them more important and easier to pull off these new tweaks will take a bit to get used to but eventualy you'll be reversing f-5's like nothing.If your not a wrestling fan take off a full point but that dosen't mean there's no fun to be had here this game might even make you like wrestling.If your are a fan get ready for the pain....Uncle Derky smells

the smackdown game has some lengend like the undertaker old ,macho man, and it has the legion of doom, plus story line.

With outstanding grahics,And an awesome seasonmode. ,an enhanced contol system a First off the controls are completley diffrent. its so muched improved like now you can have up to 16 front grapple moves. like for instance up O does 4 grapples and down O does 4 diffrent grapple moves. and it works quite well. I still pre fere wwf no mercy's tho The sound is alright all the entrance music is there and everything just when you get to the in ring action the music is really bland the crowd sounds good tho with the crowd chanting things like shave your back to the A-Train. The Graphics are amazing, they far surpass smackdown with improved textures, awesome lighting effects and Amazing Character models. the Arenas look fantstic with amazing lighting effects. and amaizin designs. The extras are pretty cool too.like Legendary wrestlers like the Old School Undertaker, the Legond Of Doom Awesome extra backstage areas and alot of other stuff . The caw mode is excellent it will take you hours creating your wrestler and making your apperances and animations.Plus the Seas Graphics 9 sound 6 Controls 8 Replay 9 Extras 8 Final comments this is a solid game and i reccomend it to any wrestling fan. And if your not youll still have a blast.

Here we have the best Wrestling game of all time, but there is some room for improvement. Here is why. First, the graphics. Major changes have been implimented. Chairs actually look like chairs, somebody at THQ FINALLY learned how to draw a CAR and characters are better displayed, even more so than the last Smackdown title. There are a few blimishes, however, like when the ropes bend, they don't actually bend but just kind of "level off." There is still some clipping, but far less than before. And top rope moves seem to land alot smoother as well. Not to much in the sound department. King and Jim Ross do the play-by-play, but there isn't any voice acting outside of that. We are still stuck reading text. I think this is for the best, however, because I don't think even Hurricane would read some of this cheesey dialouge. Some new matches have been included, like the Elimination Chamber, Bra and Panites match (rejoice pixle pervs) and a First Blood match. Yes, that's right, you can beat your opponent until he/she gets "busted open." There is also an injury meter so you can wear your opponent down. However, you can still dang near break somebody's leg and still can run full speed. A spot of realism has been thrown in as strenght becomes a factor, like don't expect Spike Dudley to Gorilla Press Kane. Controls have been revamped also. Taunting has been assigned to the Right Analog stick so that the error of giving a Stone Cold Salute instead of a Stone Cold Stunner will be erradicated. Things like tagging and reversals have been switched around, so don't throw away that game manual yet Smackdown vets. The CAW feature has been tweaked to give more options. You can get "Legends," but they have weak entrances; Coming down the isle on a platform a-la Andre the Giant (not in this game) when he lost the belt to Hogan. Overall, this is a great game, and even casual fighting game fans will love this one.

this game SUCKS becauase of the graphics and it style of wrestling who likes wrestling nobody but a bunch of rednecks!

Here comes the pain is no doubt the best SmackDown out yet! They bleed, strip, curse eachother out and destroy eachother with chairs. The new match types are vicious.And the season mode is the most appealing season mode on any wrestling game period. You can ask ya momma.
