Great remake of a classic

Pros Cons
Just plain fun

A few years ago before I was a Metal Gear fan-boy I read some articles about Metal Gear Solid: TTS I and I thought hey I should try this game. What a way to get into the series. This game has everything. The cut-scenes, while long for an FPS gamer, were amazing. I did not know that the Gamecube had such great graphic capabilities. My first play through was some what difficult but after the first time it gets better. The replay value is good, especially the fact that there is two endings which reward you with either stealth camo or an infinite ammo bandanna. Also after two clears of the game in one file, you unlock a new "suit". I just recently tried Metal Gear Solid on the PS one and I noticed great improvements. Like the M4 tranquilizer from MGS 2. Also borrowed from MGS 2 is the graphics and the ability to shoot while in first person mode. If you are a die hard fan of the series or just looking for a good Gamecube check this out.

Solid Snake

This is a SUPER-SENSATIONAL-LISTICALLY SWEET game. I have Metal Gear Solid 1 on the origianal Sony Playstation, and Twin Snakes is basically a better remake of it for the GameCube. The graphics are pretty good, the story of course is great, plus you can get two different endings depending on whether you save Meryl or Otacon at the end. One gives you stealth that you can use anytime, and the other gives you a bandana for infinite ammo. Just like on the Playstation. Plus if you have the digital camera, you can take photos of anything and save them to look back at them anytime. However, there are many things that if you take a pic of it, save it then look at it in your album, a photo of one of the MetalGear staff shows up inside the original photo. Though you won't know if it's right till you save the pic and go look at it. I'll tell ya where one is though. Take a picture of the mirror in the men's bathroom. The bathroom is just before you go down the long hallway to fight PhsycoMantis. On the right side of the hallway is the girls bathroom where you first meet Meryl face to face, and on the left side of the hallway is the mens bathroom. P.S. When Meryl takes off running for the women's bathroom, try an' stay right on her tale. If you're close enough when you enter the bathroom, Meryl will show up behind Snake in the cutscene like normal, but she'll be in her t-shirt and undies cause she didn't have enough time to change!!!! You can also catch her workin out in her undies near the beginning where you gotta climb up the airducts and you can see her workin out. The trick for the undies, you gotta climb up into the airduct, crawl all the way to where you can look down into Meryl's cell, then crawl all the way back out and down the ladder, then climb back up the ladder, crawl to where you can see her again, then exit all the way. You have to repeat this several times before she's appear in her undies. You'll get it, I have faith, lol. DAMN Meryl is fine ain't she?

yes i love Metal gear solid Twin snakes

As long as you're not expecting any huge additions to the Metal Gear milieu, The Twin Snakes serves as a great revival of a true classic. I love this game 10/10

nice game

Better than average game. I would recommend the game to anyone that like these types of games. No real changes but new maps. Maybe not the best installment of the game but still fun.

Amazing

Hey PS1 fans, remeber Metal Gear Solid? Well guess what! Metal gear Solid has just hit the GameCube! It has got improved graphics, gameplay, and extras! If you played the Playstaion version, you'll remeber the ridiculous low health, now you'll have a brand new bar of health wich lasts must longer now! It is the very same game you played with improvements! Ok time for Rob's tip: Look newcomers to the franchise, this isn't a shoot 'em up, it is a stealth action game. Meaning don't go around shooting everyone you see hide, sneek, stealth kill. Ok gamers there you have it! Another issue of Rob's review!

A great fusion of MGS1 & MGS2

A total upgrade of Metal Gear Solid on the Gamecube was a awesome idea for an exclusive title. I bet alot of Metal Gear Solid fans on the Nintendo side of the playing field were anxious to sink there snake fangs into this one. It includes MGS1 totally remade into the style of MGS2, with this includes dragging enemy soldiers and hiding them in lockers, hanging off ledges to avoid detection, and 1st person view to get a good aim. Although this game takes only about 4 hours to complete, it's worth the purchase.

WOW

Let me start off with I am a huge Metal Gear fan. I have been playing the series since the day's of the NES. And have played every Metal Gear up to date. I lagged a bit in play the GC version cause I had to wait to get my hand's on a GC to play it. All I have to do is say holly hell. This game take's everything that was great about the original MGS for the PSX and spit's on it. Now I do have to say, the game does have some awsome visual's compaired to the PSX version. The control's in the game were alright, it take's a bit to get used to the GC controler if you have been playing MG on the PSX or PS2. Once you get a hang of the new controler the control's even out to good. You can definatly tell the game was made for the PS controler. But that's where the plus's of the game end. They entirely rewrote the script for the entire game for the most part. Which is extreamly disapointing. Now though's new to the MG series, or the younger audience might enjoy it. But the original MGS story and script was a masterpeice, you dont go messing with Beethoven's Moonlight sonata so why mess with one of the greatest story's ever. The script bassically does revolve around the same story, but they do make some notable change's that I won't mention here incase you are actually looking to play it. But the change's are just bad, and the script itself is just to quirky. They tried to add quirky humor to it, and connection's to the GC, and promoting a game along the way, ect. ect. The added stealth skill's like hanging from ledge's, hold up's, hideing body's. Though fun, just make this game way to easy. I beat it in under 3 hour's on hard. And that was with watching all of the CG video's which there are many of, and at time's lengthy. Which seem's to go hand in hand with the MGS series ever since MGS2:SOL. Overall if you are looking to get into the MGS series, or just looking to play MGS again. Break out the PSX or PS2, and enjoy. I wouldent suggest this version of the game to anyone.

Great

Of all of the GameCube games I've played, this could quite possibly be the best. It has great graphics, great sound, wonderful controls, and a much better storyline than previous Metal Gear games. Even though it is by no means a short game, its brilliance will leave you wanting more.

Snakes are scarey!!!

This game is alright if you enjoy playing the first one on the psone, but if your bored with that then I definetly consider in buying Metal Gear for the gamecube because it really is that the good. Plus the graphics are amazing!
