Double Dash is one of those rare games that you just want to play over and over again. Many people said it was too hard, detracting from the simplicity and fun of the other titles, but I completely disagree. The two person carts are so much fun, and the unlockable content makes you want to play for hours. Double Dash obviously doesn't replace MK64, but it's another great title in the franchise.

Excellent Game

This is one of the few games that will blow your mind. it was mario and all friend related to mario and donkey knog series. it is a fun game to have for your gamecube. it would be nice if there was more tracks and a few more people. but overall it vry good game, and has good features for the Gamecube.

2nd Best Racing Game on the Gamecube

I think is the 2nd best racing game because some of the karts are a bit slow. I think the Koopa King kart is the best one in the game. I think the best courses are Rainbow Road, Luigi Circut and Wario Collosium. My best characters are Mario, Boo and Bowser. I'm awesome on 50cc, I'm kind-of good on 100cc and I'm horrible at 150cc.

classic multiplayer gaming still intact

Double dash is a strange entry in the mario kart series, it was the first (and probably the last) to feature two characters in each kart, allowing you to pick up 2 iems at once, which characters you pick also effects the speed and handling of the kart (for a begginer i would personally say to choose 2 small cahracters and the green shell kart). Many people really hate the 2 characters issue but i, personally was not too bothered by it. The one player mode in Double Dash is really not very good (whenever has a mario kart had a good single player) multiplayer is where the game really excels, with faster more sensitive handling, one thing i didn't like was the fact that there is fewer ways to screw other players in this game than, say mario kart 64, where you could shrink them forcing them to fall to another area of the track, or flatten them. Criticism aside though if you have 4 controllers and a lot of friends there is much fun to be had with this game.

A reason to buy a Gamecube

Mario is back...with a partner! Graphics: 4.25 The graphics is very good compared to the N64 version of Mario Kart. Beautifully Engineered. Gameplay: 4.40 The ole' favorites are back such as the red shell, green shell, bomb, and mushroom. Use all of these items to your advantage. New items include Character specials like: Toad's golden mushroom, Yoshi's egg, Mario's fireballs, and DK's giant banana. There are also unlockable karts and characters. Replay Value: 3.50 Not very high, but high enough where you'll play it once or twice a week. At least it's a reason to play that dusty Gamecube. Multiplayer: 4.75 As always, Multiplayer is the BEST feature of the game. The game includes 3 event battles too: Shine Theif, Bom-Omb Battle, and Baloon Blast! Extra fun! The tracks in racing is always fun with 4 people, 3 people, or even 2 people. Overall: 4.00 The game overall is, like I said before, a reason to play that dusty ole' Gamecube in the closet. So is SSBM, but i'll write a review on that later. -Review by SA13

Simply the best racing game!

Funner than all it's predecessors! Mario Kart gives you the option of holding on to more weapons, by having 2 characters per kart! The game is even funner, when you get to switch characters, and use not one but 2 different special weapons! Bringing back the legendary Rainbow road, its the hardest of all... but once mastered, you never can really predict the outcome of the game in versus mode. I rate this a 10, but im only limited to 5,... so yeah!

Tag-team kart racing? Who'd'a thunk it?

Trying to improve on Mario Kart is a bit like trying to make Halo's graphics even flashier. How do you build on the forerunner of most every racing game ever made? Simple, it turns out. Bring a friend. This is basically the same setup - in that it's the same basic set of characters, still driving mini-go-karts with banana peels and lightning bolts galore, except now, there's a two-to-a-kart limit. You can pick and choose any two characters - be they Mario and Luigi or Bowser and Peach - and race on a variety of new courses. In single player mode, not much has changed. You control both characters in much the same way you did before - press a button and the guy in back fires your weapon, while the control stick allows the one in front to drive. (You can switch who does what at any time with very little adjustment required.) It's in multiplayer mode that it gets fun, where one person drives while the other mans the wheel, and both need to coordinate to switch places and get back on track quickly. It's a very welcome touch that adds immensely to the Mario Kart experience, and makes this one arguably the best addition to the franchise yet.
