This game is awesome. I could not stop playing it. I think it should deserves a 5.0 fun factor. I also think MGS would make a killing if they put on the XBOX and Gamecube.

Why? Because I said so! To tell you the truth the first hour or so I didn't really like it but the deeper I got the more I was amazed. From when you fight Volgin to the end of the game is the most brilliant moments in any game ever. Even thought the story wasn't nearly as confusing as the past MGS you'll still think about it for days after you've beat it.
better than halo? hmm...YESTH!

Well, I can't compare two different games, but I wholeheartedly have to say that Snake Eater has improved from Sons of Liberty. More than Halo 2 has from Halo. Anyway, the jungle setting ROCKS, and the camo system is very well utilized. The cutscenes are excellent, and the characters are all nicely animated and likeable. Music=perfection, and the CQC system is very innovative from the usual punch-punch-kick setup of MGS and MGS2. New weapons like the shotgun (FINALLY), the Uzi-like Scorpion, the Single Action Army pistol (Ocelot's gun for the uninformed), the Cigarett Gas Gun, and White Phosphorus Grenades (sets men on fire) are definitely welcome in the new edition of Metal Gear. The new abilities like hanging from a tree branch and shooting, rolling barrels, manning machineguns and anit-aircraft guns, and threatening info from soldiers makes the game so much more advanced than the first two. Also, the cure system is very cool, seeing movies of how Snake plucks out bullets with a knife, sews up cuts, pours ointment on burns, and injects himself with medicines. Lastly, the food for survival is very neat. When the stamina gauge drops, Snake must eat food like snakes, fish, alligators, hornet nests, and elk-like animals. If he doesn't, he faints and is taken back to the last building complex he was in. Overall, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is a very fun and innovative game that is worth the money you will spend on it.

This game is probabably one of the best games I've played in a long, long time. The way the game takes you is unlike any other. Complete awsomeness. First off, the graphics are amazing, the detail with the trees and the jungle and the ground, also the soldiers is complete and utterly awesome. This game is... well awesome, not done yet. Second of course is the sound, though the voices dont always go with the mouth, still its good with the mouth most of the time, the sound is realy good, you've got the animals making noises, you making noises, lets just say the forest your in makes noises. Third would, above all else, be the story, it could win an oscar and then some. The story tugs at all your emotions, very emersive. When Snake is happy, your happy. When Snake is mad, well your mad. If any thing the story is good enough to buy this game. Great fun, great fun. Just buy it already. Game of the Year Im sure of it. Oh, also the immersion is great Ive played it six times through. Have fun.

This game is one of the greatest sneaking games I have ever played. MGS has changed alot in MGS3. Though the creaters did change a lot it still keeps the feeling of a MGS game. I think the maker really got it right this time. In the past games it has been very diffcult to find some where to hide. Now with your camo and a niffty little bar in the top right hand corner of the screen(that tells you how hiden you are), it is alot easier to sneak up to soldiers. Since you have all this in the newer game. The soldiers AI has gotten better. Also when you alert the soldiers it takes alot more time to lose the soldiers, which only adds to the realism of this game. Now you can't simply slowly walk up to a soldiers. You have to use the stalking stance or the soldier will hear you walking. Once you have gotten your arm around his neck there are a bunch of thins you can do from there. Like break his neck, slit his throat, ask him questions, or if you are in a big fire fight and want to be mean you can use him as a human shield. Another new feature that was added was the cure screen where you can use a bunch of medical items to fix things such as cuts, burns, bullet wounds, or leeches. Also as you may already know you can hunt and eat animals. I mean they don't call it Snake Eater for nothing. Also they kept the old characters like Snake and Ocelot. I find it very interesting that in this game Ocelot is only a young man. It a also shows how Snake shows Ocelot the way of the revolver. You'll have to see it for yourself. So I highly recomend this game to anyone.

A to the mo-fo K, BABY! This game kicks some serious derierre. Graphics, control, AI, you name it. This game has it all. Although some of the boss fights can drag, (not to point any fingers, The End) the game itself carries with it Snakes origin, along with the actual settings of the 1960's genre. That means no cameras, cambots, automatic gun turrets, you get the picture. And the Cobra Elites all have their own unique abilities. Flamethrowers, poison darts, photosynthesis, bees, etc, set the mood for some very interesting fight sequences. And the fact that you have to hunt to stay alive in a jungle atmosphere gives you sort of a John Rambo feel. then you can find and equip all different kinds of camouflage, masks, and suits to help you blend in with your surroundings. Cut-scenes are beautiful, and the nano-com conversations are short, sweet, and to the point. They also help you with boss fights and trouble spots. Overall, this is probably the best Metal Gear in the series. I am glad to say that I am very, very pleased with this game. Thank you Hideo Kojima!!! you rule!

Fans will be excited to know that Kojima apparently listened to the complaints of gamers after MGS2 and made the masterpiece that is MGS3: Snake Eater. You play as Naked Snake who is on a mission to rescue a scientist named Sokolov and bring him to the United States. You'll immediately notice the awesome graphics in the game. The cut scenes alone cannot express the true graphical beauty; rather it is when Snake is camouflaged that the graphics truly shine. The voice actors are excellent at expressing emotion and giving the characters life. The sound effects are done very nicely as well. However, the game needs some work when it comes to the control department. For a newcomer, the controls seem lagging and it is difficult to execute the action you want when engaging in close-quarters combat. This is because the same button, mainly O, is used to do so many maneuvers. For example, it is possible to take someone hostage and interrogate them to gain some information by pressing O and L3, however if you press O too hard, Snake will slit the throat of the enemy, and they will fall dead. Therefore, becoming a pro takes much practice. The story adds the most to the overall score of the game. Simply put, it is beautiful and consuming. The cast of characters is awesome, not to mention the boss fights were terrific and much fun; each fight reflected the boss' personality. Snake is also a very well written character. It would have been so easy to just keep the attitude of Solid Snake, but no, gamers will notice that Naked and Solid are two very different people which is a major plus; it just shows how good the writing is in the game. The ending was the icing on the cake. Goodbye simple and/or confusing ending, and hello to an emotional cinematic that leaves the gamer satisfied and perhaps a little hungry for more MGS3 action. MGS3 is a welcome addition to one of the greatest video game series. I just wish it was a bit longer.

This game is awsome. Could this be the best in the series, You decide! No longer are you hiding on walls. With the new 60's jungle setting Naked snake or should I say Big Boss must use camoflauge to stay hidden from enemies. You must combine face paint and camoflauge to stay hidden. There is also a meter which tells you how hidden away you are from 100%(completetly invisable) to -5%(Not blended in at all.). In the Game no longer do you use Rations to heal.Instead you heal over time considering how much stamina you have. This is where the Stamina bar is introduced. When you run , Fire, Punch, your stamina goes down. Snake must maintain his Stamina by eating or trapping different animals in the jungle(Including Snakes). Once again the boss battles in the game are awsome, you even verse a young Revevoler Ocelot, aswell as a group of soldiers called the Cobra unit led by The Boss who is snakes former mentor. THe enemy AI in the game is very improved from the last titles and there are traps. Also no longer is there rador, now you must use sonar which the beeping attracts guards.Snake's arsenal also now includes Shotguns and silencers get louder over time. There is some buildings in the game to infaltrate and Good ol Box is back! There also isen't as much story as MGS2 which is a little dissapionting but less confusing. The Graphics for the game are truly amazing and are better then most ps2 titles. In conclusion Metal Gear Solid 3 is a keeper and is one of the Games of the year!

I wonder, If its set in the 1960's why does snake look so damn old? If the game is set in the 1960's then the Vietnam War must be taking place, I didn't know HALO ( High-Altitude-Low-Opening) jumps were possible back in the 1960's. Also that the construction of an advanced, more deadly Metal Gear was capable back then, since in Vietnam it was very difficult to produce simple reliable tanks and Assualt Rifles. The Camo is also another issue, from what I've seen, During the 1960's solid military green was the trademark Camo back then. Of course there was a tiger stripe camo and maybe 1 or 2 more Camo patterns. But MGS3 seems to have a Camo for every landscape, which was not available back then. Also in a picture I saw a M4 Carbine with a expanded Double Circled Clip that can hold approx. 200 Rounds, another item not available in the 1960's. BUT HEY, All these questions maybe answered in the game when it is released. Either way The game looks great.
