One word: Awesome. Just pure awesomeness. You get to kill everything, either by stabbing-blowing up-shooting-or punching. You get to eat just about everything you kill (except humans and dogs of course) You get to blow shit up, I love operating the anti-aircraft gun, just keep blowing those helicopters out of the sky because they keep coming and coming and coming. The boss', they are so creatively made that it's just a shame they die and never come back. There's easter eggs, and hidden stuff to find. No great game can be complete without a climatic and bad-ass storyline. Sometimes I just feel like blowing the shit out of the enemy with my favorite gun, and I could do that all day- it's just that fun. In this day and age of video gaming we forget what fun is about, some games may be addicting but not fun (World of Warcraft is what I was thinking about when I said that, not saying that that game isn't fun, just saying it's just sheer addictiveness) When you play this game you'll be reminded what fun is, just go and blow shit up, have a blast, stab a crab (crab BATTLE!!!) eat a ghavial (those crocodilians) blow those chopters out of the sky, hold up a soldier gun point and shoot him in the groin and watch him fall over and die in pain, punch in locker doors and push them onto enemies, throw snakes onto enemies (I think you can do that, I'll try it) plant an explosive right next to a girly magazine and blow the guy up while he's looking at scandalous pictures and making weird noises to it (you'll see what I mean when you try it), push guys over ledges over the rails. Well, Just try it.

This game is definitly the best. But MGS$ coming out soon will be more excellent.Snake eater was the best because of the storyline and a game finally based on the snake genes of snakes father BIG BOSS! the game had an awsome combat system, and the cqc system was awsome.Based on the characters they were all great and the ocelot in that game was cool becauseit goes back to when you see him as a younger person, who at the end said he would meet big boss again someday which he did eventually. If Solid snake dies on mgs4 they must continue on with big bosses story into the zanzibar incident! 5.0 for graphics 5.0 for sound 5.0 for control overall i give this game a 15.0
highly underrated

this happens to be one of the best games i have ever played. the gameplay, controls and graphics are all perfect, and wut makes the game even better is the intriguing storyline. this game was highly underrated by the public, i believe it wasnt noticed enough.. this game is very realistic and its a game that you can play more than one time and find new things everytime, so its definitely worth the money to buy, not just to rent..i cant wait until the fourth installment of the series is released.. hopefully this one will be acknowledged and appreciated more.. if u havnt already, go out now and buy it!!

MGS3:SE is definatly a game worthy of the name Metal Gear. Everything in this game is executed masterfully, and it's a welcome addition to my Metal Gear collection. Let me start off by saying Grafix wise this game is great. The overall texture's of the enviroment's to character detail. Shading, they touched up on every little detail in this game and it has some awsome CG's as well. The control's are classic MGS with some minor tweak's such as climbing tree's, Close Quarter's Combat (CQC) but bassically the same easy to pick up and learn control's of classic MGS time's. The audio in this game is spot on, from the rustling of leave's, to the fluttering of bird wing's, to the enemy's radio everything sound's great. The OST helps set the pace for in game atmostpher as well. The nice added feature's is the ability to control your own camouflage. You can go from sticking out like a sore thumb to being a fly on the wall. Also surival is key in the game you have to collect your own food, make sure that the animal you didn't kill isn't poisionus and also have to make sure that the animal meat dosen't go bad if you hang on to it for to long. End result is making you sick. The only real downfall to the game is that I kind of felt like I was alway's on a set path. Unlike other MG game's where you have to navigate threw a base and outdoor enviroment's finding your way threw place's ect ect. I mean it's not litterally walk forward and you beat the game but it just kind of had that feel as it feel's like you can't really get steared off course as in previous MG tittle's. But the game fit's the 60's cold war era perfectly giving you an old fashion feel to most item's. Such as the ear radio you use to talk to the base. And this storyline is so masterfully written that you don't want the game to end it really is a great story. If it was a movie it would have won a few oscar's. Overall if you are into the stealth action genre at all, and or are just looking for a great game to rock out for a while go out and grab this tittle you will not be disapointed. I don't give to many game's a 5 and . . . Well I can't say enough good thing's about this game, just enjoy.

My original review I gave the game a 2.0. MGS3 substance works out some of the kinks in the original. The biggest change being the 3rd person view camera. It's so much better this way and much easier to see what's going on. You can still switch to the overhead view if you want. You also get an easy mode for those having trouble. With the limited edition you get an extra movie clip disc that lasts over 3 hours. If you're really lucky you get a 4th disc Vol.1. You also get the first MSG and MSG2 from the early video game era. They are very dated with 8 bit type graphics. Nice to have but I didn't play them much. I still don't like all the video chatter that goes on, I actually fell asleep playing the game. I never had that problem with Socom. MSG3 LE is a must buy if you can find it, it's selling for over $100 online.

at frist i was a little sceptical of this game because i didn't know what to expect from it but it was great it just draws you into the game and it's hard to put down the controler. The only thing you have to do in order to beat the game is learn how to do all the CQC once you have that down the game is alot easyier. this game will definatly go down in the record books as one of the best games
This is on ps2!!! Damn!

These graphics are frigin' awesome!!! It still suprises me how great the graphics are for a ps2 game. The epic story line is an epic master piece! The story starts in an airplane, then snake is droped out of it. He lands in a jungle filed with KGB agents and other russian units. Snake has to find a lost scientist and save him before he is forsed to make more WMD machines. Then everything goes wrong. The weaponary fits perfictly to the story, as does the boss battles. This game rocks, I can't wait till MGS3:Sustanace!!!

wow. This game was one of the best ive played in a long time. Usually nowadays the biggest problem in shooters is the length. They arnt long enough. Well, this game shows us that that is no longer a problem. it does take a while to get started but i mean come on. If you dont know that it has long cut seens to begin with thats your problem. You just need to set aside some time so you can sit back and phyc yourself up befor playing this awsome game. It gets you goin into the game sayin "holy crap this is gonna be a good game." In my opinion it is about 10 times better than halo could ever be and the new version of this game seems to be even better. The bosses in this game can get a little far feched but you over look that just because your blinded by the sheer briliance of this game. Pick this one up.
One Of The Greatest Games Of All Time!!

How could you go wrong with a series like MGS and Metal Gear Sold 3 delivers. This game is so awsome new weapons, new story (kinda weird though), new Snake, new characters, new gadgets, unlockables, and a great end level. I only had a few dissapointments it would of been great to have multiplayer (new online feature in MGS3 Subsistance), the story was wierd, and the main story could of been longer. But thats about it. If you dont have this game yet you have to be one of the biggest losers in the world.
