A perfect example of a truly overhyped game

You know the game is terrible when two DIFFERENT bosses are only separated by their "color"(one is red, other is blue). But what a waste as this game had so much potential. It's not even a typical shooter, it's boring at best. Go from point A, to point B, and your done. The game was referred to as the next Halo or better, good thing not TOO many people listened to that. The multiplayer also had potential. But it all falls through with so many holes to fill in, skip this game even with it's 5 dollar price tag.

Repetitious, but you won't notice.

Looks: Pretty well done. When I first fired this game up, I was impressed, even though it first played it this year, 2005. Character models move around pretty well, with realistic enough animations to keep you interested through the game. Their models are also well done. Environments look great, with some really nice touches, like great water effects, and that glowing, whatever it was stuff (what was that toxic substance called again?) on far away planets. Overall, a well done package, graphically. Sounds: Sigh, I want to say the sounds completely go along with the graphics. OK, the lines in the script are a little cheesey, but entertaining. Weapon sounds are pretty cool, with variety enough to let you know exactly what everyone's shooting with. Audio cues from your team members are especially helpful, as they do communicate with you when needed. Controls: They get the job done, plain and simple. Point, shoot, control your team mates/change between them, you're done. Gameplay: It's repetitious. Every mission is pretty much the same thing when it all boils down. BUT... It's kept fun through lots of action, due to the clever positioning of the enemies. Fun: If you're picky about havin billions of different things to do in a game, steer clear, or rent. If you're ready for some all out shooting fun, go for it. Overall, though, don't expect anything monumental.

Average game. But worth it

This game is alot of fun. For the 1st 30 minites. Its very repetitive. Alot of the times, you feel like your playing the same level, over and over again. Aside from that. The game is allright. An ok storyline. Better than average graphics. And excelant control. Gameplay- 7/10- The gameplay in this game is fun at times. But like i said, its very repetitive. But if you get over that, you can have a good time. There are alot of cool weapons. Cool character specials. And fun multiplayer. The story can be cool at some points. There are many characters to unlock. But to repetitive to keep trying for them. The story is great at some times. But at other times, its not so great. The story only gives you a breifing on what your doing there. Thats all, Play from that. Graphics-- 7/10- The graphics are nice a clean. And the characters modguals are real nice. But it could get better. The characters seem real plain. Could use some detail. And so could the guns. From a couple feet away. The guns look like blurs. Until you get real close to pick them up. Sound- 6/10- The guns sound real nice. Thats the only plus about the sound. The voice acting is real lame. Not much acting involved. At some points in cut scenes. Youll need to turn your tv up to hear them. And at other ponts theyll talk real loud youll have to turn it back down. But thats the bad thing, there just talking in their regular, calm voice. The creaturs sound pretty cool. But sometimes their voice sound distant, but could be right beside you. Or sound close. but be far away Control- 10/10- Hey, its basically halo's controls. What else is there more to say. All in all, Brute force is an ok game. Could be a little better. But hopefully thats what sequals are for. As for it being a 3rd person version of halo. I think thats about right. But just a little more lame. I dont think this game was worth its start out price of $50.00. But luckily they lowered it. Its worth $20. You should go out and get it.

Halo killer?

This game makes me want to give Halo a higher score. Why they made this game a third person shooter I'll never know. The level design is poor since almost every level is like a maze. It doesn't take long to get repetitive. The game looks good and controls are no problem. I never did get into the story and I didn't really care about the characters. It just doesn't pull you in like Halo. If they make another one I hope they put a little more thought into it. Rent before you buy.

Why the bad rep?

When I got this game for free when I got my X-Box I was expecting the worst, but let me tell you this. This games is good. You control an elite Special Forces unit of four code named Brute Force. Each member has a special ability such as the ability to see auras or invisibility. The characters that you aren't using move and react properly most of the time. They take cover, fire, and use med kits at proper times but the occasional grenade is thrown at them and they just stand there preparing to get blown up. For the most part they operate as a cohesive unit though. They also follow your short list of commands you can give them very well. They behave vey much like an elite Special Forces unit should. Muliplayer is a hoot to battling it out inn one on one, squad deathmatches, or going through the reguler game together. Though weird the graphics are spot on with the ability to spot the smallest details. Fog can get in the way occasionally, especially when you are trying to snipe someone but can't see them and they proceed to unload a clip into you. The music provides a perfect background for your intense gun fights kicking up right at the good parts. Ordering your squad around is easy with its button layout. The only snags came more from the actual controller button positions then the games fault. I was very suprised by this game. From reading the reviews of this game I was ready for he worst. This is the best squad based game I've played. Not bad for my first X-Box game. It sure doesn't disserve to be given away for free with the X-Box. That honor should still be Tetris'.

Where else other then being a lawyer, can playing a Lizard be so fun....

I am not one usually for games where I have to share the screen with 3 of my weak minded friends..... But I have finally found a game that I can live with and which lets me kill my friends at ease.... Playing the game it self still sucks because.... Well because my friends are weak minded and would just as soon kill me as the enemy... But change it over to free play .... and guess what... All the sudden the mission is to kill your firends.... Daddy likes... Daddy likes alot.

The Force Of The Brute Really Sucks!

GRAPHICS- 4.0...The main characters look visually great and the enviroments, while used over and over again, are pretty detailed. The shame is that the enemies and objects ( Buildings, etc. ) are not very textured and eye-dropping. SOUND- 3.0...The sound effects aren't that great because of the dumb comments from the characters and the weapons sound misplaced and dull, the music is top class though! CONTROL- 3.0...Controlling the characters can be easy and hard at times. the fact of custom controller configuraton is a good thing. Brute Force Lacks the control factor because of the crappy camera and unresponsive control systems! FUN FACTOR- 2.5...Brute force doesn't meet the expectations of Halo because of its many flaws which eventually make the game quite annoying, another downside is the short size of the game! Brute force makes an average rental but anyone who's gonna buy it might be disappointed!

The next Halo: Not Really

Brute force was actually a exclusive and I was excited when it first came though what they promised was too much and though its still is a good game and all but they should have made it better. Though this is a good game but in the the other hand its a great shooter.
