Better than average game. I would recommend the game to anyone that like these types of games. No real changes but new maps. Maybe not the best installment of the game but still fun.
As clear as a crystal.

This, didn't look like any Final Fantasy I ever played. I was pretty reluctant to play it, because it didn't seem attracting by looking at the cover, but I tried it anyway. The game is about misiama infecting the lands, every place excpet towns, which are protected by giant crystals, but it needs a certian type of holy water to keep protecting the town. So the town gathers certain people(there are 4 races:Selkie,Clavat,Lilties, and Yukes) so the chosen characters are sent out to fill a special container with the certain holy water. If it fills up,a year passes. Years play a role in the game, as the map screen has certain levels known as "misiama streams". These are streams where you can walk through but in one condition: the special container must have the right element. That's right,if there's a stream requiring fire, and you go in with wind, the winds will push you out the stream. Now let's talk about the normal gameplay. You play as the certain character you chose(4 players can play, but all 4 players must have a GBA. Can't tell you how that works;I don't have a GBA.), and depending on your race, you have a certain weapon, like Lilties have lances, and Clavats have a Sword and Shield. So about the gameplay, you run around, looking for the tree in the certain level you're playing in that gives you some of that holy water, you fight monsters. This isn't like normal FF games; you fight in-game, as if it was Zelda or something. FF fans might not accept this, which is probably why gamers didn't want to buy this. But, hey this is an awesome game. And you have a command list, with two default commands you cannot get rid of:Attack and defend. Attack has a normal attack combo, usually up to 3 strikes, and a charge attack. Along the level, you'll find orbs called magicites. These orbs can be put in your command list so you can perform certain spells, like purple magicite orbs is the thunder magic. But unfortunately, once you beat, quit,or lose the level, you lose the orbs. This may seem dumb but luckily, they seem sort of common in the levels. The graphics are wonderful. They're so detailed. The sound's good, not perfect, but good. Control is quite awkward, especially tapping away with your A button while shifting commands with the L button. From all this, this game is a good buy. You'll be glad you gave this game a chance.
Good Gamecube RPG

FF Crystal Chronicles is an interesting twist in the Final Fantasy series. Hardcore FF fans may dismiss this game after about 10 minutes, but more open gamers will find this quirky adventure quite entertaining. You pick your adventurer from 4 races, each with specific looks. Then, you start on your journey to save your city from an evil force known as miasma. There are many plots going on at once in this game also. The graphics are absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. The character detail is insane, and the environments look like a very close copy of reality. The sound is also incredible, the fantasy music enchating. Dungeons are fun, but may become repetitive after a while. And the cystal "sheild" you have to stay in can be annoying. The non-rpg battle system is more like an adventure game and will make it or break it for most. Now for the multiplayer version. I would give it 5.0. Gather some friends, and this game becomes extremely original and fun. The only downside is having to have GBAs to play. Overall, this is a quality game worth your money.

The name is very deceiving because you would expect a great game to have a Final Fantasy name on it. Although the story line is decent and graphics are pretty good this game does not live up to its name. Having to go through the same levels over and over again just to advance into new parts of the map were annoying to me. I did not play the multiplayer so I dont know if that's any better but having to have that crystal around all the time became a bother. I didnt hate this game, but I guess I was expecting more.
Why did they mess with a winning formula?

I'm not sure what the appeal was to this game to be honest, and why on earth did they mess up a winning formula but this game was not what i expected or was hoping for. I gave it a 3.5 because it does have some really neat concepts behind it and i've always thought RPG/action should use multiplayer features more often then not and this does that, except for the fact that you have spend hundreds of dollars to do so. That's the down side, the upside is, plenty of character classes, some good action, and pretty good graphics/controls. Between this and Tales of symphonia or even FFX, this wouldn't be my top choice.
Fun enough

his game is fun enough. And just like others it doesnt look like a Final Fantasy game. Only that they use magic that's all. Ok singleplayer it's fun and all but i just find it simple fighting. I think the boss fights were very cool. And the multiplayer was fun but the problem is you need gameboy advance or sp to play multiplayer. And i dont like that. O almost forgot the cable to connect the gba or sp to the Gamecube. Too much money. Next time they should made the game more fun in singleplayer and use normal controllers with multiplayer. But the graphics were awesome.

This is not one of the best games you can get for gamecube. This game haves a very confuseing storyline and every more confuseing concept. The game is a RPG but it lacks a lot of RPG rules. You can get iteams and equip then and what not but the battleing is a overhead view and action type. The other downfall is you have to stay in your "Crystals" Area at all times. and if you move out you start to lose HP. I do not recomnd this game at all becuse it gets very boreing after the first 10 minuts. Thank you for reading my review my e-mail is jebus_for_life@yahoo.com

This game has an odd feel about it. The multi-player mode makes you use the Gameboy Advance or SP. But the part that I dis liked most was the name of the game. I could hardly find and parts that had anything to do with traditional Final Fantasy products. I didn't see one Chocabo the whole time that I played it. I feel that this game isn't fit to carry the Final Fantasy name. That doesn't mean that it is a bad game, it just has a misleading title. The gameplay is great. The fuseing of magic is a neet touch, and adds a commrodery affect when you play with freinds. Some spells even require you to wait a little bit before the second and/or third person casts their spell. That makes pulling off a Flamestrike or Slow all the more imperesive. In closeing, i would like to say, this game is a good game but doesn't quite have that Final Fantasy feel. So don't get it just because it has the Final Fantasy name. (I will try to have more on this review later. I will also edit it to make it an easyer read.)
