This game is if anything short. I have to admit it was quite the chalenge but once you understand the akward controls it is easy. I do give the graphics a 5 out of 5. I also give the sound a 4.5 out of 5. If your a steath lover you will like this game. Personaly I think it takes to long to get to the action and moves to slow but thats just me.
An Overrated video game

I played a demo of this game for the O.U.S.P.M.(Official U.S. Playstation Magazine) demo disc, and just by playing the first level i can tell it suck's,....well that aint no suprise rainbow6 for PS1 was pure crap. Tom Clancy might be good at making Milatary novel's but he should shy away from the video game industry
GREAT!

This is a great game! The graphics are better than any PS2 game I have ever seen. The sounds are enjoyable to listen to (Ironside) and bring out the tension in moments. The controls are sooooo simple and easy, that a player is never lost on what to do. The game play is great, the game is pretty tough, yet enjoyable. I really enjoyed this game, and I encourage people to buy the PS2 version, not the GameCube or X-Box.
Not a great game, but worth a try...

I've played both the Xbox and the PS2 versions. I've read all the reviews. I've heard the arguments amongst friends as to why this game is the greatest. And yet, after all that, I still don't see what all the talk is about. Don't bet me wrong, this is a good game. Graphically this game is far superior to many games on the PS2 except for Metal Gear Solid 2. The way that light is portrayed in this game as both your friend and your enemy is darn near perfect. Hiding in the shadows and watching as an armed guard casually walks by completely oblivious to your existence until you lash out and snap his neck is by all means fun. Yet, with all its great points, at the end of the day you just don't feel like picking it up again for another go. Or at least I didn't. The story line was great and told well. Although, I didn't think the ending was well written. The story moves the game along at a good pace thus making every mission, including the new one added for the PS2, seem vital to finishing the game and saving the world. And the added cutscenes not found in the Xbox version give hero Sam Fisher a new level of personality. Now, he's not just a secret agent badass, he's a caring father. You can't really say much about the sound in this game. It is pretty much a quiet atmosphere until stuff starts blowing up and guns start going off. The musical score, however, does a great job of adding to the overall feeling of the gameplay. The controls, at first, were a bit cumbersome. Yet, as you go along they become second nature. However, like I stated earlier, once you've finished the game, there is no real reason to want to play it again. This game is good, but it's strictly a rental.

Last November Ubi Soft released a game with the overall package. Considering recent stats Splinter Cell had went over the one million mark for Xbox. So now the PS2 gets the oh so good feeling of stealth espionage. First i'll start with graphics. In a word 'awesome'. The develepors at Ubi Soft Shanghai studios did a great job of getting the shadows and lighting techs onto the PS2, I give the graphics a 5.0. Next is sound. The same sound effects from the Xbox are still intact. Every thing a bullet hits makes a different sound. Footsteps can be heard. And that cool 'weeeee' sound when you engage your night or thermal goggles.I give sound a 4.5. Next is Fun Factor. The games 10 missions with some immersive surroundings and the PS2 exclusive mission 'The Powerplant' gives the game more length than the Xbox version. The surroundings in missions make the player feel very powerful over your enemies. And the gut wrenching feeling of being found by an enemy is great.I give theFun Factor a 5.0. This is the one of the grat games for PS2 this year. If your thinking of getting PS2 I suggest you Splinter Cell with it. This game is a can't miss.

The experience I got from this game was great! Great graphics, great controls, great use of shadows and of course, the great gadgets. The lock pick was my favoite cuz it's kinda cool that you have to do it yourself and not just wait for the computer to pick the locks for you. The game's really entertaining! And you'll get lots of laughs when you're in the dark with your night vision equipment's ahining so bright and still, no one sees you! So go out and get this game, and have fun!
Truly an awsome game. Without it;s slugish controls it would be perfect.

MGS2 was an awsome game. But what happens when there is no game like MGS2 and MGS3 doesn't come out for a while? Well, here it is Splinter Cell. The game everyone that have been buzzing on the X-box is now on the PS2. Splinter Cell has great graphics and awsome sound. But it's contols are very ....not good. Well, I hate turning but then changing the camera angle. It's like this. Turn..camera,turn then camera. But when shooting the camera angle is good. You're Sam Fisher. And trying to solve the case of Agent Blaustein and Madison. A very excellent storyline. This is terribly fun and will keep you glued to your PS2. A must have title for people who just like great games. Graphics:4.5 They're good but it's not quite there yet. Sound:5.0 Excellent voice and superveve sound efex. Control:3.5 Okay contols but it's camera angles need more work. Fun Factor: 4.5 Very fun.
Sam Fisher is better than Solid Snake.

Well, I wouldn't call it a rip off of MGS, but it's an awesome game either way. Instead of going in guns blazing, your best weapon is stealth as you work for the NSA trying to stop a terrorist plot. Graphics: 5.0 Amazing! Incredible lighting effects and realistic shadows showcase what the PS2 can really do. Awesome little effects like the air around a fire only help the score, and there is no slowdown at all. Sound: 5.0 There are some neat little sound effects like the crunch of broken glass as you walk on it or how Sam's footsteps sound different depending on what surface you're walking on. Control: 5.0 Awesome moves that look great are actually easy to pull off. You can sneak against walls, ride down zip lines, grab an enemy from behind and interrogate him, or aim your gun, all with the push of a couple buttons. Fun Factor: 5.0 A very fun and innovative stealth game, Splinter Cell is a must buy for anyone who never picked it up for the X-Box. If you don't have it, but it now. BUY IT!!
