Watching your car disintegrate was never so much fun

One word describes this game: awesome. Graphically, gameplay-wise, and option-wise, this game is something to behold. That's saying a lot since the first Burnout was one of my all-time favorite games on my PS2. However, this game blows that game, and really every other game out of the water. Sure, all the other games can give you a sense of speed, the thrill of racing with traffic, but no other game can make nearly hitting that traffic part of what the game is all about. Narrowly dodging oncoming traffic while drifting around a 90 degree angle is something that you could never do in real life, but in this game, it's savagely fun. The crashes are what this game's about though. The first game's crashes were cool, but this game expands upon things. Wheels go bouncing down the road, fenders go flying in the air, other vehicles swerve to avoid your wreck, only to make a new one down the road, and all other competitors pray they aren't part of the carnage. It's as fun as it sounds. Now give it a mode of its own and watch it really go down. This game gives that to you, allowing you to do some incredibly stupid things from the safety of your couch. The cars, while generic, are cool and all handle differently. The best cars to use, however, are the ones where you barely have any control over what happens when you turn. Mastering drifting is essential in these cars, and once you do master it, everyone but you will be petrified when you go around a corner. The single player mode isn't anything new. You basically go through a series of races to unlock new modes and cars, which thus allow you to unlock new grand prix, which allow you to unlock more modes and cars. Once you've unlocked everything, get a friend along and jump into multiplayer. Nothing's more fun that tearing through a race with a friend, the two of you causing mass destruction. If you don't own this game, get it. It's more than worth the money.

only missing explosions and pedestrians

Crash mode. its the best mode on this game and should go dowm in game history for creativity. this is the only game that makes you crash your car in a cement wall on the last lap of the last race just to see what will fly off your automobile. great selection of cars(but there generic)and a average sounds round out this game. they still need to add a crash mode where u can use 4 controllers together and maybe explosions and pedestrians
