Let me start off by saying this. A friend of mine said this game was for girls...this coming from a 29 year old. I would like to say that a game starring girls isn't geared towards them. FFX-2 is an incredible rpg meant for any sex. I find it refreshing too to see 3 females depicted as females and not the feminist brutes they're depicted as in other games like Tomb Raider etc. Rikku, Yuna and Paine are the funnest trio I've controlled in an rpg ever! The graphics are the stellar norm we've come to expect from Square as is the gameplay. The music is a little iffy and repetitive though. One thing I do not like about this, nor did I like it about FFX, is that there's no overworld map. It just gives a sense of claustrophobia and limitations. No aeons kinda stinks too. :p I don't know why Square feels it needs to reinvent the series with every sequel, but it works well in every one. The mission based objectives are cool and still leave you with the freedom of visiting other locales until you want to further the story. In my first sitting with this game I played 5 hours...that's a good game. The dress sphere system leaves a tad to be desired. You can change outfits, which in turn changes your class. The problem with this is that only having 3 characters to choose from leaves you wide open to attacks when you change into the feeble white or black mage outfits. White mages are supposed to help heal the party right? I have yet to see a white mage work effectively and win a boss battle while still keeping everyone HP high. The monsters also seem to be a tad smarter to as they always appear to target the weakest character and pummel them to death. Do not take these petty remarks as gripes though. With fantastic FF gameplay and signature Square graphics, FFX-2 is a keeper for any rpg fan.
Who says first impressions are everything?

(Anyone who says this game is just a cheesy, wannabe remake of Charlie's Angels has probably only played the game up to the middle of Chapter 1.) FFX-2 seems a little strange in the fact that is is so light-hearted and comical compared to Final Fantasy X, which has to be the most sad game I have ever played. However, things do get heavy around the middle of Chaprter 2, and the game's story is a joy to experience. The dresspheres battle system is, withouht a doubt, the most innovative and creative thing I have ever seen in an RPG thus far. The ATB system (active time battle) may seem a little too crazy at first, however the game offers you to chance configure the ATB to "wait" so that the actions of the enemies are held while you decide how to make your move. All three characters are highly interesting; especially Paine. It is always to see a woman take the role of the bad-ass, mysterious warrior. Seeing characters from the previous game adds a special touch. FFX was the best FF game ever, in my opinion, and FFX-2 had a lot of pressure put on it. This game delivers; it's just plain awesome. ^_^
THis IS hoT!!

The battle system is a welcome change and the dress system is reminiscent of the job system which is one of my favorite's. If you liked X then you will more than likely appreciate this game more. This one of the games that when u see u know that u going to like and even if u haven play just by looking to it u can see that u going to like it and going to have fun playing this funky game
You're missing out on a lot if you don't play this!

To everyone out, I would just like to say not to judge FFX-2 by its face- value. Some of you might get turned off because of the fact that all of the leads in this FF installment are all girls, but believe me, it is still as solid as any Final Fantasy installment. And of course. you better play this if you wanna find out what happend to Tidus! Heheh... ^_^ Yuna, Rikku and Paine ROCKS!
i got it on tuesday and im still trying to get past.......

This game is not legendary, but as far as sequels go this is not the Final Fantasy that killed the series. New tricks this time is the New Game+ option that becomes available after you've beaten the game once. Although your levels will be reset you get to keep all the dresses that you found the first time around also you have access to the airship from the start of the game. Finally the non-linear aspect of the missions hotspots appear that help the story take shape. There are also a TON of side missions to challenge some of them become mini games on to themshelves like the gunner's gauntlet in Besaid these. Although the best mini-games were in FFVII these are FAR superior to the ones seen in FFX
