The game has all of the creepiness of the first game. The controls are a bit difficult. I do not like the way they swing around when walking it is kind of disoreinting.
GREAT, GREAT GAME!

Once again Silent Hill reigns supreme amoung Horror games. Bloody walls with a heartbeat of there own and music ( if u call it music) that makes you squirm fill this large town. Large levels with interesting puzzles and enemies that make you constantly look over your shoulder in fear. Storyline was amazing as it continues were Silent Hill 1 left off only years later. Lets not forget Scary as hell. A must have for any Hard-core Horror gamer!

I will say this: Silent Hill 3 is as good as a Silent Hill game can be. I say that because in my opinion, the series reached it's peak years ago with Silent Hill 2. That is a hard act to follow. Now all of the upcoming Silent Hill games are great, but they don't bring anything new to the table like Silent Hill 2 did. On that note, let me share the positives of this game. The graphics are great. You really can see the details they put into the scenery to literaly make it come alive. The sound in the game is anything higher than fantastic (as always). The probem is the character, who controls like a flatbed truck (very slowly and unstable). Which is bad because alot of the times you'll have to fight off multiple enemies at once, but that's usually the case in Silent Hill games. So aside from the usual problems, Silent Hill 3 is the an excellent game, just not much of a follow-up to a cult classic.
one of the best ps2 games out right now

Silent hill 3 one of my favorite ps2 games right now with amazing graphics that are almost on par with REmake. The sound is very disturbing that keeps you at the edge of your seat the controls are good except the camera is buggy at times.their is alot of replay value in this game. Like their's alot costumes to unlockand their are three endings to this game. their is even the game soundtrack that comes with the game. The only flaw with this game is that the game is only about 5 hours long . but you will most likely play it over.oh yeah this game is rated mature for a reason so if you got sick playing re3 this game is not much better.overall this is an awesome game and is worth buying. +amazing graphics +awesome sound +great story +soundtrack comes with the game +awesome extras +creepy +lots of replay -buggy camera - only 5 hours long score 9.5 out of 10

Three words, twisted, sick, and religous. This game has some freaky view on a god(or should I say devil) named Samael, any Silent Hill fan will remember this freakish bastard as the final boss in the first title. Maybe it's the fact that when my brother plays it he is cowering in the corner with a white face that makes these three titles so precious to me, or maybe it's that I'm a freak that needs to be locked up in a mattress room with a straight jacket... nah! Konami gone bad: This game is a great example of why Konami should surpass Capcom completely in the horror genre, Capcom's Resident Evil is more of an action game than a horror game, I mean, think about it, you're surrounded by several zombies so what do you do? You pull out a rocket launcher and blow the damn undead to bits. However, Silent Hill is much more realistic, you actually need ammo preservation and a map to get through this game alive. Religious views: Did you know that the curse of Samael is an actuall curse, bettcha didn't. Well, to those of you that do or just might understand the story of Silent Hill, these freakish cult people want to revive god, but god is too weak to be revived so Samael see's this as an opprotunity to take over the world, oh goody. Well, enough story telling, the battle system is rather sloppy but the graphics and sound make up for it in many ways unknown, the shadows cast are perfect and the characters look like actuall people *gasp*. Graphics: 5.0 The characters look like CG in a movie, which makes me proud of Konami's accomplishments. Sound: 4.5 The music envelopes you so much that you actually think it's sound effects sometimes. Control: 3.5 The battle system is sloppy but it's easy to get from one place to the next. Fun Factor: Overall, I recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the horror genre.
A GREAT GAME!

I've noticed one thing about Silent Hill games. The series is the scariest of them all. No movie that I've seen is as scary as this game. I have seen the Ring, and countless movies. This game is scary as your worst nightmares come true. I have noticed that this game has lots of doors. The puzzles are more logical. At least, the puzzles make sense. I think that this game rocks. I don't own the game yet. I plan on buying the game.
