FUN ON THE RUN

I'm not that much into racing games but this one wasnt that bad. Graphics were pretty good and having cops chase you was fun, although annoying. Cars looked good and the control was ok.. could be better.

Finnily be the cop!

This game is a good one. the reason i dont give it a 5.0 is becuase i dont relly like raceing games. also i dont like how if u r the cop u can lose the person u r chase then u have to look all through the levl to find him u cant just get a new guy?

this game is the best game for gamecube

this is the best racer for the game cube next to burnout 2 of course. the game has some problems but none of them hurt the experience i have to admit the first part of the game is a bit slow with those lower ranked cars but for some reason as the cars get faster the more the framerate holds up. so many reviews have knocked this game down and i dont know why the car models are great, the physics are realistic A.I is great cops are challenging. the tracks are large and full of color they are not as sharp and there are some aliasing problems but for the mostpart they are beautiful. the framerate does stutter occaisionally but i olny noticed it in the early part of the game when i was driving the slower cars once i got up to the ferrari 360 modena i hardly noticed the stuttering . multiplayer is by far the most fun in the game its fast fun and will keep you and a friends entertained for hours. graphics i give it a 4.5 sound i give it a 4 presentation i give a 5 fun factor i give 5 replay value is high p.s. gamecube rules

The cars control like heavy hover tanks.

I realize that I'm writing one of the more critical reviews of NFS for the GameCube, but maybe that's because past entries in the NFS series have taught me what a good NFS game should be. In my opinion, the high point of the series was NFS3: Hot Pursuit. I admit, my expectations were high for the sequel for the GC, but the actual product is a clunker for one big reason: the cars control like hover tanks. They feel much heavier than any sports car should be, and there is a slight delay between your input and the cars response. I understand this problem is unique to the GC version of the game as it was programmed by a different developer than the PS2 version. I haven't played the PS2 version, so I don't know firsthand if it's any better, but I must say this is a big disappointment. Now I'll list some pros and cons about NFS:HP2. PROS: I liked the race selection tree as it opened up several different options for me as I chose my next race. I also enjoyed the soundtrack. The environments are exciting and very diverse (forest fire, tropical village, etc.). CONS: The conversations between the police and the dispatcher were more repetitive than in NFS 3. The "extra" tracks are really just different routes along existing tracks.

Guilty Pleasure

The best aspect of this game is being chased by cops. Being able to outrun them in real life is difficult (if you don't believe me, try it), but you can do it here, and it makes it so beautiful. The multi- player is fun too, and I haven't liked racing games since Mario Kart 64 (that game still makes me horny). Between this game and BMX XXX, I am starting to get hope back for sports titles.

Need For Speed:Hot Pursuit 2

Yawn......I Have To Say This Game Can Get Really Old.....Fast! The Graghics Are Pretty Good And The Control Is The Same As Any Other Game But It Lacks Deph. I Think I'll Stick To The PC Version.

Air Hendrix is Crazy

All i can say is that Air Hendrix, the dude who reviewed NFS on the Gamecube, is either not a racing fan or doesn't know how to drive. I've played all 3 versions of the game and once you get the hang of the loose controls there is no better game. The sensation of speed is absent with the slower cars like the Lotus and the Vaxhall, but once you open up such cars as the Ferrari F50 and the McLaren F1LM, you feel like your actually driving the cars. Very fast and very exciting (try using the new Logitech Force Feedback wheel, hard to control at first but then once you get it WOW!!) Overall this is the best NFS i've ever played on any system, including the original on the 3DO (which i sadly still own.)
