Deadly Alliance is certainly one of the best fighting games on the PS2 and is extreamly entertaining, however my only complaint is how hard it is to pull off special moves,especially fatalites. MK:DA is definatly worth buying, especially for it multiplayer value.

I was torn between giving this a straight 5, or the 4.0, so I went 4.5. I've played a wealth of fighting games, which used to be my favorite genre. I've always been a fan of this series and the trademark linear controls. Much easier to execute a move with a double-tap, rather than an intricate motion of the d-pad. The fatalaties are all here, although I've grown up since playing the first one, and they're kinda upsetting to watch after a while, whether it's you pulling them off, or you as the victim. Thoughtfully the game contains an option to tone down the gore. Also, the method of gaining the new characters keeps the replay value up.

The SNES used to be about good ole clean fun. Most of the time. Then Mortal Kombat shot onto the scene with a bang. It's gory visuals prompted outrage from the parental community. And now this latest installment has gotten a graphical upgrade and some higher expectations. Does this game do it for the loyal Mortal Kombat fans? Maybe, but for those not attached to the franchise it's a big old no. The game just doesn't feel that much like Mortal Kombat. Aside from the characters. The controlls are responsive when trying to do a simple punch, but pulling of the insane amount of button presses at lightning speed just to do a combo often leaves no choice but to just press buttons at random and hope for the best. Of course the graphics are good with some impressive character graphics and animations. But the character's were just too serious and muscular. It would inspire laughs to anyone who, of course, was not a serious fan of Mortal Kombat. Now for a good point. Each character has 3 sets of fighting styles, 1 weapon and 2 different fighting arts, which can be switched on the fly and bring up some nice variations in the moves. If your able to pull them off. Alot of the fighting styles don't seem very real though, and seem to be made up. But maybe you won't notice since your just trying to figure out how to do the fatalities in this game. Which is the one defining element in the mortal combat franchise that kept gamers occupied and made mothers every where red with anger. But this time around, they are disapointingly uncreative. Most gamers will excitedly punch the combo in only to raise their eyebrowse and proclaim, "that's it?" Mortal Kombat fans will probly eat this one up. But the other gamers will see this game for what it is. Utterly average.

the graphics were beatiful, the story mode was ok, the training program was a good idea. the krypt was cool. collecting coins was something different. it is a really good fighting game. it has some of the best graphics for a fighting game i've ever seen, if not the best graphics for a fighting game. the weapons were sweet. the fatalities were gruesome as hell, but i think they should have given them more then one fatality. like in MK3 and MK4 i think it was they had animal fatalities, they should have brought those back to the series, they were awesome, and fun to watch. Please Note: this is a review for the Gamecube. not the PS2

This game is cool to the core. The graphics are amazing and the environments well crafted. The controls are to a degree well responsive and the game has alot of blood and guts spillin' out.

THIS GAME WAS SOPOSSED TO BE THE SPARK TO LIGHT THE FIRE TO THE MORTAL KOMBAT LEGACY, WELL NICE TRY THE GAME WAS HALF & HALF IT WAS GOOD AND BAD THERE NEEDED TO MORE SRCEAMS MORE DIFFRENT CHARCTER STANDS AFTER WHO EVER WINS A FIGHT INSTEAD OF EVERY CHARCTER USING THE SAME STANCE. MORE MORTAL KOMBAT, NOT JUST A 3-D FIGHTING. BUT THE GOOD PART WAS THE ENVIROMENTS WAS SPECTACULAR THE CHARATERSLOOK OUTSTANDING THE GOODIES AND MOVIESE KEPT ME WHISING FOR MORE + NOT TO FORGET THE VERY HIDDEN SESCRET CHARACTERS.THE MUSIC WAS A B- BUT IT WAS GOOD. LETS HOPE MIDWAY BRING THE NEXT MK TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND NOT JUST A NOTHER 3-D. GOOD JOB MK STAFF

I GIVE THIS GAME A 5.0 ON ITS SPECTACULAR GRAPHICS, GAMEPLAY, AND THE KRYPT. WITH THIS GAME I THOUGHT LOU KANES DEAD THIS SUCKS BUT AS I STARTED PLAYING WITH SCORPION AND THE OTHER GUYS I GOT MONEY, SKILLS (L33T SKILLS) AND EEVENTUALLY FOUND EVERY FATALITY IN THE GAME. I STARTED TO GET BORED WHEN I NOTICED THE KRYPT, I WENT IN AND THERE WERE THOUSANDS OF THING TO BUY LIKE CHARACTERS ( NOW I GOT EVERYSINGLE GUY), COSTUMES, LEVELS AND EXTRAS( MY PERSONAL FAVORITE WAS COOKING WITH SCORPION).

This mortal kombat is a lot better than the others like Mk1 and stuff like that well mk4 the movies are awesome but the Deadly alliance one are just some guy talking and showing a pic. but thats not matters what matters is the game play and the killer moves the move are a lot better and there is more people on this game that you can kill and the coins and the hard boss

This is a fighter worth checking out. Any who say this is not a good game is out of their mind. Yeah the graphics are alittle sketchy in some parts, but these are few and far between. (I gave this game a 4.5 bcause it is a fight game, you can't have a 5.0 fighter.) I'm tired of people complaining about the storyline! ITS A FIGHTER! Fighter games aren't renowned for there storylines, they have one purpose, and that is to fight. The people at Mortal Kombat really uped the anty for the way you play a fighter game. With multiple fighting, weapons, and chain combos makes this game a must for any person who claims to be a gamer.
