Fun, but Nothing New

Pros Cons
Fantastic multiplayer Repetitive gameplay
Just plain fun Braindead computer AI

This is a great game for wasting time. The mini-games are, for the most part, imaginative and fun, but they can get a little repetitive over time. The story mode is great; I can't believe it took 4 titles in the franchise to come up with the birthday party theme, though! All in all, a solid title.

This is what makes Mario Party so great

Mario Party 4 is a good game I think fans of Mario will love and cherish. It may not have as mmany minigames as 5 but it is still fantastic. It has awsome graphics, minigames, and a great story mode. Fans of Mario and Gamecube owners, buy this game.

Man, this partys wack!

Why? Because I said so! Darn. I need 25 words to make this a valid review. What happened? That amount of words worked last time.

it was kinda disappointing, but it's still a decent party.

it may not be the coolest of games, but it's still fun if u have 3 or 4 friends. the thing that made me mad the most was the mini games, the majority of them were boring. the items sucked, the only useful item was the magic lamp, everything else was just a waste. the graphics were sweet. the levels were cool, an more characters was a good thing. In my opinon mario party 3 was the best one. the only reason this game gets a 4.0 from me is becuz of the mini games, there were like only 7 of them that were fun, the rest were just boring an stupid. An i'm getting mario party 5 for X-mas.

Mario Party 4- what a let down

Compared to past Mario Party titles- this game is a piece of crap (for lack of a better word). It has little to no differences from the last 3, other than the fact that it left out many of the funnest elements in the game (ie. item and mini-game purchasing, mini-game island). In addition the new levels are absolute crap compared to the old ones....and forgive me if I'm wrong, but there is only one unlockable level. Also, there aren't too many new characters, which you'd expect, since it's the 4th game. " And the items......the main ones you use are mushrooms?!? As far as the mini-games are concerned, they basically forgot about making good ones, and added a truck load of crap (exp: "smash this button as fast as you can for 3 minutes! WOOOT WOOOT", or "Press A at the right time!!! WHOOOO HOOOOO WTH?. Shame, Shame, Shame Nintendo. This game was possibly the biggest waiste of $50 I have ever succeeded in doing. If this game was the first in the series, I might have given this a better score.....but coming from a series that is name recognized, has much to live up to, and is coming from Nintendo.....I believe I can honestly say two things; either Nintendo thought they could honestly sell this piece of crap, or they are simply running out of new concepts.

Great game, if you have friends.

Mario Party 4, Mario Party 4 , all it is a really good board game, just with mini- games. Mario is a fun game if you have 4 controllers, it ain't all that fun if you are playing by yourself. You can chose from 8 different characters and there are tonns of min-games. I found Mario Party fun, only if you are playingt with your friends. A great game at partys. Graphics:4.5 Cotnrols:4.5 Sound:4.5 Fun Factor:3.5

great for multiplayer

this game is the best party game for the nintendo gamecube right now. the problem with this game would be the first player mode in the story mode. i mean why would they make repeat the whole thing with each of the charachters. it won't change the difference of the luck or how fast it runs so why bother repeating the whole thing. anyways great game with the exceptions of the first player mode when your lonley and no online mode

Nothing New, But Still Fun

If anyone has played other Mario Party games, then there isn't anything new here. Some mini-games have changed, a few new boards and characters are present but the game follows almost exactly like the N64 gmaes. The object of Mario Party 4 is to move around a game board trying to collect stars randomly located. The catch is that every time each of the 4 players takes their turn, a mini-game takes place. Hence the "party." The mini-games have little variety but it doesn't mean they aren't fun. The basic types include dodging certain objects, pressing A as fast as you can, and running from side to side collecting some coins. This may not seem like very much fun but when you got 3 other friends playing, everything seems funner. On the downside; graphics are polished but aren't anything exellent , control is simple but easy, and sound is mostly victory calls and various dropping or exploding noises. So if everything seems average, then why is this game fun? Well, moving around a game board searching for coins and playing some very catchy mini-games make Mario Party 4 a great game, as long as you got friends.
