Second Best Star Wars

I think this is a very good game. Singleplayer is tons of fun! Multiplayer is also fun to play with friends and siblings. Singleplayer is very fun because it is very challenging and has good controls. Sometimes it is so challenging that you have to find a walkthrough on the Internet to help you figure out what you are supposed to be doing. If you liked KOTOR games than you will most likely like Star Wars Jedi Outcast Jedi Knight II.

Is it just me?

I've read some awesome reviews for this game. Its a classic to some. But me,i don't know man the word underwhelming plagues every aspect of the game. You see,the graphics are what id expect from a 2002 Xbox game but the story could at least be involving.Theres nothing there. And multiplayer is cursable as well.I love Star Wars, but this game.Eh.....

The battle continues

I enjoyed the game that came out for PS1. I had high hopes for the follow-up on the Xbox. This game doesn't stray far from the path set by the first game. All the great things are there but the faults remain. The series relies too much on your jumping abilities which shouldn't be the case for FPS. One blessing is the save anywhere feature if you remember to use it. You can easily cruise along then suddenly die and remember you forgot to save. You spend a lot of time over the same area looking for what you may have missed to complete the level. The game can be tough and some levels will take awhile to finish. For me I like that in a game. Some of the AI are dumb as rocks while others are quite crafty. The game looks good and plays good but the Xbox is capable of so much more. The epic Star Wars sound track sounds a little muted and doesn't inspire you much. I do like the game though and will keep it in my collection. I just hope the sequel doesn't turn to the dark side.

Average FPS

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is everything I expect in a FPS. The graphics are nice and polished, the sounds are descent, the controls are simple (unless you're used to the 007 configuration) and the gameplay is good. The best thing about this game is that you go to third-person mode for the lightsaber, which is cool. The only downfall is that the lightsaber battles end up in a mess of mashing buttons and running around franticly trying to score a hit. Bottom line is, it's a nice addition to my collection of games. but if you're not into the Star Wars univerese, its a nice weekend rental, or you can just stay away.

May the Schwartz be with you...

This is a good game. The camera angles and control need some work, but overall pretty good. Not worth $54 new, but $19 used for sure. A must rent for the weekend warrior Jedi's out there. A must have, maybe not. Let's hope the KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC is much better.

Horrible controls wreck what could be an excellent game

I was amazed at how nice this game looked. The settings are the most Star Wars-accurate I've seen in a game yet. However, when trying to move your character, I noticed the dreaded control scheme. The left joystick moves you forward and backward, but also makes you strafe left and right. If you want to turn, you need to use the right stick. So, simple moves like walking forward and turning a corner involve both thumbs, which really makes things confusing sometimes. I spent over an hour on the first level, which is ridiculously long, only to die from falling off of a catwalk because of the terrible controls. Guess what? I had to start ALL OVER again. I promptly put this game back in it's case and threw it in a drawer. Any game that frustrates me within the first hour of playing it gets put away, possibly for good. Nice waste of $50.00. Be warned, there is NO way to change the control scheme, so unless you like very frustrating character movement, avoid this game!
