another bland shooter

The Turok series has been interesting to say the least. With the N64 as it's only platform, the games were somewhat limited in their abilities, but were still fairly fun to play. This new installment would be expected to do far more for the mechanics and graphics than ever before, and it does. In a way. While the music is beautiful, and flows with the action well, and the graphics are sufficable, there is a horrible framerate and slowdown in multiplayer. With any shooter, you know they are going to borrow elements from others, and this game is no exception. While I enjoy the prospect of blowing the living hell out of extinct dinosaurs, this is suitable for a rental only, maybe a party.

The Rebirth of Turok

The Turok was first born on the N64 with Turok it was a very nice game. Then they came out with Turok 2 a fairly nice game. Finally they made a few more games that weren't very fun. Turok: Evolution isn't the best game of the series but it isn't the worst. The game actually has a fairly nice plot. It has levels which are very fun such as when you need to climb a statue in order to get to the senate. But the game has some parts that are very hard and ver cheap. Like at the end of the 4 mission when Buckner comes at you with a 100 soldiers all armed and ready. You think that your going to have some REAL fun but you don't. And thats the problem. THe graphics are that bade but the loading times are. The weapons are okay, they have a few nice ones but they forgot to put in the guns just for shooting and not for great death sequences. The sound is pretty nice enemiesw and allie taunt after they kill someone. But your allies have a tendency to get them selves killed. If your a hardcore Turok fan go ahead and buy it at full price. If your a FPS fan wait till it drops to 20 like I did. But if your not a Turok fan or a FPs fan you won't be missing anything. Graphics: 4.0 Sound: 4.0 Controls: 4.0 Gameplay: 4.5 Fun Factor: 3.5

Tooth and claw

I have never played a Turok game before so this game is new to me. I really enjoyed this game even with its minor flaws. The levels are huge and the graphics do nicely. The game starts off slow but before long the enemies keep on coming. The control was easy to get into with a small learning curve. My complaints are as follows. The flying levels stink and could have been left out. They tend to break up the flow of the game. This game gets very hard in later levels, to the point of being unfair. Some of the levels are reused with minor changes. I still highly recommend this game. If you like FPS then grab on and sink your teeth into this one.

no mach for n64

turok Evolution should have been equal to halo or better. games that come after halo(fps) should be as good or as close to good. turok is an 3 in a fild that requilers 6 or better.

COULD B BETTER

FEATURES SUCH AS DYNAMIC A.I. AND LUSH,LIVING JUNGLE ENVIRONMENTS ARE WHAT MAKES THIS GAME GOOD, BUT LACK OF IMPRESIVE FIREPOWER AND NEW FEATURES FOR MULTIPLAYER ACTION KEEP THIS MUCH ANTICIPATED GAME FROM BECOMING A CLASSIC.
