Another one I bought on the cheap. I heard good things about the game but I didn't like it. For one you have to conserve ammo. I'm the kind of guy to shoot first and ask questions later and I kept running out of ammo. Then you have to start the level over to have a chance. Next when your sure a guy is infected and you blow him away the game ends. Everything in the game is scripted and they didn't want you killing him yet. Even though the guy ends up changing a little later. It would have been cool if it was a FPS but it's not to be. The game did have some nice ideas like earning trust and how cold can affect a player. If you have the patience give it a try but I tired of it quick.

IT'S NOT HALO OR FOR THAT MATTER MORROWWIND, BUT YOU COULD DO ALOT WORSE..... IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME JUST ASK ANYBODY WHO OWNED SPIDER MAN... OR FOR THAT MATTER JAMES BOND.... SO ONE DAY I GET TO THE GAME STORE AND WHAT DO I SEE, BUT A NEW "THING" FOR SALE AND FOR ONLY $10, YOU CANT LOSE AT THAT PRICE... FOR THAT MATTER YOU CANT LOSE AS LONG AS YOU DONT PAY NEW PRICE FOR IT .... SO GIVE IT A TRY, YOU JUST MAY BE ALITTLE SURPRISED HOW GOOD IT IS....

this game aint bad but its not good but thats just what i think it just wasnt that fun to me but if you like this type of game then its worth a rental

20 years ago, John Carpenter gave us a movie so good, that it has topped most of the 'World's Best Movies' lists. And for over twenty years, we've waited for a sequel. Finally, we get that sequel, in the form of a truly awesome game. The Thing's plot is simple: go to an abandoned site in the Antarctic and find people...that is, if they ARE people. You are chased by a monster that can change its shape into animals and even into humans, which creates the paranoia factor. Of course, that factor isn't as impressive as the previews would have you think. It's very easy to make a team mate trust you just by giving him a weapon or ammo. It's notoriously easy to have a man follow you and protect you. The Thing is not that addictive the first time through, but the replay value is great, with good visuals and great controls, The Thing's a winner for any X Box fan. VISUALS--4.0 Although not shocking, The Thing's visuals serve well to fit in with the isolated environment, with great models and characters, the only flaw is the tiny bit of framerate problems in the outdoor environments. SOUND--3.5 Cheesy voice overs deduct the score alot, but the rarely heard tense music and alien screams serve their purpose extremely well. CONTROL--5.0 This is undoubtetly the best part of the game. The control feels real, and the auto-aim feature is easy to manage and learn. Despite the tiny glitches here and there. FUN?--4.0 Although it will take a long and unforgiving journey to complete the game the first time through, the replay value is excellent, even if this game makes a terrible movie, and your fighting REAL humans half the time, it still is good for the horror fan.

I thought that this game is very addictive, though it did have its flaws. ANyways the graphics for this game i thought could have been better, but were pretty good. So 4.0 for the graphics. The sound, man i thought it was good for what it was worth, the sound just got me jumping a coupleof times. SO 4.5 for the sound. The controls I thought were very easy to learn, they felt responsive, and they felt comfortable. So 4.5 for the controls. O yeah, also the camera can be a pain at times. I thought this game had a pretty good story, i didn't give much credit to the whole team theme, i thought it sucked, cause really you know that they are gunna turn into them. I say rent this game first before buying.

" The Thing" is a great game for death defying gamers. Lot's of Blood, and lots of teamwork. Really hard, but Good.

Great game with cool efects. I was surpised with the effort put into this game, I thought it was gonna suck. Boy was I wrong. Its only flaw is that it looks like a Dreamcast game. Hmm. Other than u no one seems to survive the thing without becoming the thing, stange.

Graphics-4.5 Controls- 4.0 Sound- 4.0 Uh, Wow The Thing is an awesome awesome game! You never know who to trust. The graphics are good and the game has scenes that people wouldn't expect. Example- a guy blowing a hole in his head and the blood flying everywhere. The controls are pretty good and easy to learn almost immediately. There are plenty of creepy sounds that mix well with the game. What The Hell Happened Here? Gameplay is pretty good. It keeps you glued to the T.V. until you finish playing it. Don't get too close though because there are areas that will make you jump. However, it almost takes a Resident Evil path by having these alien creatures being engineered. Which isn't bad but it feels it should have stuck to the story in the beginning of game of finding out what happened and who to trust. No Way! I Don't Trust You Adding paranoia to the team you command is a great idea for this game. You even get paranoid yourself. In order to have your team be loyal to you, you have to earn their trust. Give them weapons or something that is helpful. Beware of some levels at the end of the game because they get tough and it takes more than one or two tries to beat it. Overall this game does a superb job of recreating the horror that the movie brought. If your looking for a game that has you pinned up against shape shifting aliens, then you'll want to give this game a try because it will rock your X-Box!
