i love this game, it's sweet, i love the gameplay and the playoffs too and it's very fun for me, and u get to make ur own guy too with all at 99 that sweet.

FOR MY STUDIES I HAVE RENTED ALL OF THE XBOX NBA BASKETBALL GAMES. MY RESULTS ARE AS FOLLOW....PREVIOUSLY I HAVE PURCHASED THE NBA 2K SERIES FROM 2K TO 2K2. I HAVE BROKEN THIS RITUAL & I HAVE CHOSEN TO PURCHASE NBA LIVE'03. IT WAS A DIFFICULT DECISION THE TOP RUNNER UP WAS NBA 2K3. BOTH GAMES HAVE GREAT GRAPHICS...BOTH GAMES HAVE GREAT ROSTER MANAGEMENT. THE DECIDING FACTOR THAT GAVE NBA LIVE'03 A SLIGHT EDGE IS THAT IN LIVE'03 I CAN PLAY A REGULAR SEASON WITH ANY OF THE LEGENDARY PLAYERS (DR.J, LARRY BYRD, CHARLES BARKLEY, EVEN "YOUNG" JORDAN). ALSO LIVE'03 FURTHER FACINATED ME BY ALLOWING ME TO EDIT ANY NBA PLAYER'S SKILL TO BE BETTER (IF THEY ARE BETTER IN REAL LIFE) OR TO BE WORSE (IF THEY ARE NOT ACTUALLY THAT GOOD IN REAL LIFE). PLUS WITH THE OPTION TO EDIT A PLAYER, YOU AS THE USER CAN HELP OUT AN NBA TEAM BY CHANGING SOME THOSE GUARDS TO SMALL FORWARDS......OR CENTERS TO POWER FORWARDS (YOU GET THE PICTURE). RESEARCHING PREVIOUS REVIEWS I UNDERSTAND THAT THE DEFENSIVE GAMEPLAY IN LIVE'03 HAS ATTRACTED NEGATIVE PUBLICITY. WHAT I HAVE PERSONALLY DONE IS I HAVE CHANGED MY GAME OBJECTIVES. INSTEAD OF TRYING TO ONLY OUT SCORE MY CHALLENGER (WHICH MAY CAUSE BOREDOM BECAUSE IT IS SOMETIMES VERY EASY TO SCORE)I TRY TO KEEP THE CHALLENGER UNDER 100 POINTS OR 80 POINTS (DEPENDING ON YOUR SKILL LEVEL). PLAYING LIVE'03 WITH A DEFENSIVE OBJECTIVE, INIATES GREAT EMOTIONS...GETTING A DEFENSIVE REBOUND, BLOCKED SHOT, STEAL, OR CUTTING OF THE DRIVING LANE PRESENTS A GOOD CHALLENGE. The best Live game ever everthing is perfect. It's way better than NBA 2K3. The freestyle control is off the hook and you can dunk on Shaq.

I wanted to wait untill a had the chance to play both Live 03 and 2k3 two give a really honest reveiw of both games. I have read a lot of the other reveiws ever since both games came out and for the life of me I can't see why anybody would not love this game! It has it all, from the grafics, gameplay,and the music is off the chain. I love the fact that you can play with the old school uniforms. Also the details that they put in this game are really impressive, like how the coachs look just like the real person and the crowed trying to distract the free throw shooter from the visting team. Also when you play a season and your at a sorry teams home court, look up in the stands and you will see a whole lot of empty seats. I will admit that it is really fast pase and some time the players will do some amazing plays that seem unreal, but the game is fun to play. I had some poeple come by my house to play and nobody wanted to play 2k3. Once they saw the sorry grafics and seen how slow they moved it almost put every one to sleep. The game suck really bad. Sega need to go some where with that Krap!

The offense on this game is great, when it comes to defense it's another story. On the defensive side of the ball it's really hard to make a stop.

1st of all freestyle is for street ball. i'm not really a run & gun type of player so i know this game actually is not for me. i've followed nba live from the genesis versions and i seen the improvement. graphics, commentary & music are gorgeus. but all the dribbling, blocking & dunking really annoys me. camera angle is perfect but players are to fast for it. bottom line its still my first choice than nba2k3. PS:where did the cool shoes go?
