...with joy! Free Radical has made the classic first person shooter for the Nintendo 64: Goldeneye. Timesplitters 2: The game had a very engaging and addictive multiplayer component which has been emulated by many first person shooters of today. Well, it's the next generation, and on the Gamecube, it's one of the few first person shooters that I've purchased for it. This game is great. It's very addictive, has about a hundred unlockable character, many unique stages and challenges and has an unmatched amount of customization options. The graphics are a bit cartoony, but it is suitable for the type of fast paced action that this game provides. You can easily spend hours upon hours just playing through the sheer amount of modes, and features. The feature that this game is crowned for the most, however is its multiplayer. The numerous characters and customization options work best here and there are so many modes, including the regulars, like capture the flag, deathmatch, king of the hill, team deathmatch...even though some have different tweaks to their names (capture the bag) it won't matter with other additions like assuault and their. This game is a unique gem, and I implore you play it.

fantastic fps

Timesplitters 2 is a first person shooter, made by free radical, which is a company started by x Rare employees, many of which worked on Goldeneye on the n64. The games pedigree becomes apparent very fast while looking though the opening options screen, timesplitters 2 has masses of options ranging from normal campaign with different difficulties, 2 player co-op, mission mode, and hoards of different multiplayer scenarios. The one player mode in this game is excellent, each level is varied and never gets to the stage where it feels old, the action moves along very fast, and when you put it on different difficulty levels the game actually changes giving new objectives and forcing the player to change their tactics. The only real issue with the campaign mode is the lack of any real coherent story to tie everything together, which to be honest didn't bother to much. As a multiplayer game this is an awesome classic, with so many options available, including a map editor, it will take a long time to get bored with this game. This is actually i beleive my own personall favourite fps on any system it is that good.

Tommy Guns and Golems and Timesplitters, oh my!

It's no coincidence that this game reeks of Goldeneye - it was made by some of the same people. It's also no coincidence that they made this game just as good as Goldeneye was. With amazing versatility and fun gameplay, this was one of the best first-person shooters on the Gamecube, and one that warrants many a replay, especially with a multiplayer mode where you can design your own levels.

The Best FPS

This game is one of the best FPS games I've ever played! It is totally amazing! It has great looking characters and the controls are very easy! The multiplayer is great, and it has awesome levels! However, the Story mode is lacking fun, it's too simple and not complex. But the MapMaker replaces the Story Mode, because it actually allows you to create your own story and multiplayer levels! So I recommend buying this game!

TS: 2 = Gaming Greatness

Timesplitters 2 deserves much more credit then it recieved from players. I mean what gamer doesn't want to shoot it out in the old west, on a spaceship, and inside a nightclub? I mean you can even shoot monkeys for God's Sake!!! Another feature i think is great about TS:2 is the multiplayer stats. I've always loved looking at my stats from multiplayer and single player games (it all started on Perfect Dark for the N64). The one thing its missing i think is a multipayer rank, your rank should go up as you play more games and get more kills. One thing that i didn't really like was the position on the paddle for switching weapons. The lower D-Pad doesn't really make it easy to move and switch weapons at the same time. So I gave TS:2 a 4.5 because its multiplayer games are top notch, but its single player could include a little more action.

split time in an hour??

the multi player's fun and it has co-op and over 20 game modes and over 50 charicters a great game but the game is way to easy i beat the entire game in 2 hours on hard. theres no jump and the charicter graphics suck. the game gets old quick it is fun but that may end quick for its price 20$ or lower i recommend it. better then halo, my ass keep dreamen. the ai is wourse then nighjtfires when they run for the bag ( its bag not flag in TS2) they wont even shoot @ you if you shoot @ them. they sit there they dont starfe they're dumb as all. i experienced encounters where they run into walls or shoot at them. the enemys are so easy to kill as well lets hope future perfect is anything near perfect

i have to say this is better than halo.

Dang. i most of the time think o so what a new first person shooter. i love halo and couldnt wait for halo 2. but...... THIS TOKE ITS PLACE. man.. i love this game. i really cant find out a better first person shooter. the reson this beats halo is becuase u can disin your own place. and i like that u can make your own gun list.also u can pick all your bots. that is great becuase this is like a new perfict dark. in perfict dark all the bots locked the same. but now they dont look at the difference beteween monkey and cyborg zombie or whatever his name is. thre r also tons of charicters. unlike alot of shooters. this has atleast 30 caricters. also the 1 player mode is great. it is like a bond game but better over all. i cant belive that the same makers of goldeneye made tp2. i can see some things alikke but man this game is good this is a got to buy on my list . and if u can get teen games it should be on yours. i have tyo say that it is the best first person shooter. i cant wait till 3 comes out if it is!?! o i also have more. it has a nice part that u can play multiplayer mode by yourself. in some first person shooters u have to have atleast 2 players to play multiplayer mode. this gamem is also very up beat. unlike nightfire. this game has shootin every second. this makes it more fun. u also move very fast.and unlike nightfire. when u fire a arrow at soem1 it will stay in theme in night fire it is not even visibul wonce u shoot.it also has nice levels to play in and a nice own map maker. so really u can never run out of levels ! :-) 1 other thing is that there can be 4 team.agian unlike nightfire nightfire ucan only have 1 to 2 team in this u can have 1- 4. also i really like how u an cuctch on fire and if urun into as person when on fire they catch on fire tell me anouther game that does that. and when on fire u die form burnin. man i am tellin u just buy this game.

I'm reviewing the single-player experience.

I made the mistake of buying Timesplitters 2 for it's single player experience. I have only played multiplayer twice with my friends (they quit early because they stunk at it) so I can't really judge TS2 on its multiplayer merits. My review is directed at the 1P game, which is short and unfulfilling. Certain levels (Chicago, Old West) were far too short, and I felt like they did nothing more than whet my appetite for more game. But it never came. Just when I was getting really pumped about a new level it ended and I was moved through time into a new level. That's the game's major downfall: it's over too fast. PROS: The cartoony graphics are refreshing, and I love the fast-but-not- jerky movement of my character. The music is appropriate for whatever level you're playing at the time. The controls are very accurate, and the speed of movement stands in stark contrast to slow-moving FPS like Nightfire. CONS: The bosses tend to be not-so-impressive people with long life bars. Very little originality in the boss design, and little strategy is needed to beat them. With all of it's multiplayer options it's easy to see that Timesplitters 2 is the mother of all multiplayer FPS, but as a single player game it just doesn't cut it.
