This game changed my whole persepective on sport video games. I don't watch a lot of NFL so I was glad this came out. This is the first game I had to get for my PS2. I give the graphics a 4.5, Sound 4.5, control 5.0, and the Fun Factor of course a 5.0. I could play this game for hours and beating my brother in it just really makes the game awesome. Another good thing about this game is that it has my favorite football team the Iowa Hawkeyes and U can't get that in a NFL game. This game deserves a 5.0
Best NCAA football game veer made.

grahics are excellent on some scenes you would've second guessed yourself you where actually watching a real football game on TV. the gameplay is excellent none of this, "watch him catch the ball when the ball is 5 feet away!" and the tackles aren't just him falling through the other players bodies. he actuallly gets hit by the players........ DOESN"T go through them!the sounds are excellent too. they all have the fight songs and different tunes to when they give a touchdown away and get a touchdown. the pennants are a nice way to make the player wanna keep playing to get all the pennants to power up his team so you can't lose even when you're opppenent is 1000 times better than you. (EX:Akron vs MiamiThe rivalry trophies are also a plus. gives you a reason to play your much hated rival and it gives you the proof that you beat the team that in real life never beats the other team. (Virginia tech vs UVa-UVa can't buy a win on us :P)
the xbox graphics are alot better though

Don't take the title of this review seriously unless you're more of a college than pro football fan. I have loved college football since I was a young lad, but I've been a gamer longer. So, having these two loves, I expect to play a college football game that makes me feel like I'm playing, well, a friggin' college football game. This game is over and above my expectations. It's graphics, gameplay, and mechanics are the most realistic I've ever seen in a FB game. They even have the rivalries and the rivalry trophies. AWESOME! I also love the Create-a-Player and Create-a-School mode. I can create the Bible college I went to, then make me the star quarterback and lead 'em to the National Title. How sweet is that (even if it's a tad unrealistic)? I promise you, you'll never have more fun with a football game that you will with this one. It's awesome.
Great game

This game is pretty damn good. I mean this is one of the best 2003 football games out there. First off, the graphics for this game are pretty good, i did not play the 2002 version, so i can't compare that to this. So 4.5 for the graphics. The sound for this game is also pretty good, there are a few voice replays (are they not in every sports game lol), but other than that the sound is great. So 4.5 for the sound. The controls for this game are really easy to learn and are responsive. So 5.0 for the controls. You have so much to do in this game, i like having to earn pennants for new cooler things. This game is great! This game is worth at least a renter. I say if you have not played this game yet then you better do so, rent it or buy it! So i hope you like this game as much as i did!
Awesome Football Game - crashes unexpectedly

I just read another User Review on your site and they said the game crashes alot. You are not alone. This is the only reason I knocked the half point off this game, otherwise I would have given it a 5.0. I bought this game the day it was released and I have not stopped playing it, I bought Madden 2003 last week and all I did was boot it up once. That's how addictive NCAA 2003 is!!! I personally think it looks better than Madden and I prefer the College Big Band Music and ESPN Color Commentary to the Rock Music and Al Michaels and John Madden. (We've all been listening to Madden for a long time now and he still sounds the same to me and says the exact same things!) I would greatly appreciate it if EA Sports would send all of us who have purchased this title a Debugged Copy of NCAA Football 2003. I play with the Carolina Tarheels and I was beating the 'tar' out of NC State (a big rival) and this game crashed once in the Fourth Quarter (which resulted in the use of some very colorful !@#$% expletives) and again in the Second Quarter right before Halftime. The third time the CPU Won, by this time I just took the loss and again provided my own Color Commentary again. This doesn't include any of the other half dozen times this game has crashed, right after a Big Time Play or when you are besting a superior team, I guess the AI is advanced enough to Disconnect like Humans this year. I plead that we all email EASports and beg they send us this debugged copy of the Finest Football Game Available in 2002. True - Last year Madden 2002 was the king of the console, I say this year that honor goes to the Young Guns of NCAA Football 2003.
Crashes alot

Great game and love the Recruiting. However, whenever I play, as soon as I start beating the computer, that game freezes in the fourth quarter. First the commentary stops, then the game crashes. I've rented three different disks and its happened with each one. Anyone know why?
NCAA doin' the thing

This year's NCAA I have too admit is a lot better. The visuals look cleaner and the game speed has yet again increased. The key though is the new animations in the game. PLayers jukes better and more effectively as well as the use of the stiff arm and spin. The overall running with the ball is a lot easier and looks a lot better. More tackles players get punished for dropping the ball and new quick passing similar to NFL2k series help too. A excellent game hopefully Madden will sport some similarly fast and smooth gameplay with new animations too.
Coulda been a lil better but still above average

The college football atmosphere is heating up and here comes NCAA football 2002 to add to it. This is the sequel to arguably the best college football game ever. This game is loaded with features and the AI has been given an upgrade(esp. in the pass defense department) to challenge experienced players. All in all it is a great game, but their are too many similarities to the 2002 edition to recieve a 5.0 rating. The dynasty mode is very deep, but again, is very very similar to the 2002 version. There are bits and pieces of new commentary, but the majority is recycled from last year. There are plenty of new animations and the player models look better than ever...when they are close. I was a huge fan of 2002 and I played it to death, and maybe thats why I'm so critical in this review. Dont get me wrong, this is a great game, especially for newbies. If you've never played a next-gen college football game before, this is a great place to start. It is definitely worth a purchase, even if u are considering NCAA 2K3 or Gamebreaker 2003. Put this game on your to-buy list.
