Still the best NFS to this day! Where the hell is the sequel!?

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals
Awesome audio
Intense action
Addictive gameplay
Tight controls
Just plain fun

NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 was and still is the best game in the series to this day. Why hasn't EA made a sequel to this game!? They keep making these piece of sh*t street racing NFS's that have been done to death the last 5 years or more.

Okay, I will admit that Underground 1 & 2 were great games, but every NFS since then has been average at best. For God sakes EA, make another Hot Pursuit please!!

great racing title

This game rocks for almost the one reason of that it has the best graphics I've ever seen for a PS2 title. The colors are vibrant and no detail is lost. The landscapes are incredibly detailed for such a minor background, and even the bark on the trees looks real. The modes of gameplay are good. It takes only about a week to beat both the World Racing and Hot Pursuit challenge brackets, once you've figured out how to play the game well enough in any car. You can also be the cop, tracking down speeders in a certain amount of time. The fact that you can race with or without cops is great if you get sick of being blown up by police helicopters. My fav car: the McClaren F1 LM. It goes the fastest and adds a spoiler to the already incredibly cool McClaren F1. You must buy this game. It will be the best racing title you have ever played for PS2. I have never found a flaw with it, it has never frozen up on me, and there haven't been any malfunctions. I've been playing this game for over 3 years, so I know all the ins and outs. Tips for eluding cops: ditch them on oncoming cars, trees, and other racers. Rear end them before they can even turn on their siren and they won't give chase. Unfortunately, the last tip means you have to give up a couple of seconds on your lead or drop back a couple seconds in last place, depending on how good of a racer you are.

One of the best racers ever!

Awsome cars, awsome graphics and great controls. One game that GC, X-box and ps2 owners should get.

My Thirst for Speed Quenched

Graphics aren't as great as Gran Turismo 3, but gameplay keeps you coming back for more. So many cool cars and tracks to unlock keeps it fresh too. EA did real good this time, now to see what the next one looks like.

Supercars in all its glory

Graphically I would say this is better than GTA-spec for one simple reason, we are more advanced now then we were back then. To be able to do illegal things in supercars or to do the right thing and pull em over is great. To many cars on the screen at one time can result in a glitch here or there, but the speed and control of the game well makes up for that.

One of the top ten for this year!

This game is great! The graphics are some of the best I have everseen, and the cars and driving is great! When you first get this game you have horrid cars, but as you progress to over one million NFS points, you will have cars like: Ferrari F50, Lamborghini Murcielago and Lamborghini Diablo. Once you have millions of points, you can get the McLaren F1 and McLaren F1 LM. So, dont worry about not having good cars, because points add up fast. There are some problems though, such as: when you are the cop, your helecopters and roadblocks dont work more than 99% of the time, the computer cars sometimes are bothersome and very agrivating, and the computer cars take shortcuts that you don't know about. Those are some of the big problems. The reason why I gave this game a 4.5 is because of the problems above, and because of the music. After having the game for about two months, I turned off the music because it is repetitive and horrible. The music is of these guys that cant sing worth crud. The music is a mix of hard rock and techno (which is very stupid and loud). If you by this game, turn off the music (it is worth it!). Overall, the game is great except for music and some problems. The cars are highly detailed and great, and the backround is wonderfull. I would encourage everyone to buy this game, and to turn off the music when getting it.

Needs more speed

Need for speed: HP2 is a great racing game with lots of new aspects to the NFS franchise. they stuck out a couple of times with a few of there games but this one is right on the money. the graphics are o.k. they could be better but other wise a most have for any body collection.

Amazing Racer

Finally, the best arcade racer ever is back. The game features everything a gamer could want: great cars, awesome controls, perfect soiundtrack, beautiful graphics, and just an overall fun experience. While I couldn't give it a 5.0 because, like Gamepro, I experienced some slow down and some graphics are a little too dark, this game is indeed the best racer I haver played since Need for Speed 2 for the PSX. This game is one game that any racing fan needs to buy immediately.

My first 5.0 game ever..

OK.. my thumb really hurts.. I hardly ever play video games, this will change that. I'm a certified car nut.. I'm a native Detroiter and have been buildign and racing cars for years. This game lets me do all the things that would cost me to much in ther real world (both money and jail time!) Great music.. this is the first time I've ever said that about a game. Greamt gameplay and feel. This game will keep you entertained for hours. Even being a pig is fun for a change!

Excellent game!

This is by far the best Need for Speed game ever released. The difficulty level is perfect, the cars handle like a dream. I feel this is the perfect companion game to Gran Turismo 3, as it's graphics are every bit as good if not BETTER in some regards, and the CARS are incredibly detailed and all handle differently. Whereas GT3 is all about simulation, NFS:HP2 is all about arcade racing. And yet, it bridges the gap nicely between full-out arcade racing and simulation. It strikes the perfect balance in my opinion. It's nice to play as a cop too, cracking down on all those pesky speeders in their ultimate exotics. Many different game modes keep the game fresh. I can't say enough good things about this game! I've long been looking for a racing game on par with GT3, and I FINALLY found it! It's a no-brainer: GET THIS GAME NOW!
