The girls are... um... realistic?

The graphics are great, be it the lucious ladies, the sandy beaches, the ladies... did I mention the ladies? The gameplay is pretty good, but gets repetitive really quick. Set, bump, spike, repeat. The controls are pretty good, no jeers there. The souond is pretty good, too. The worst part about this game: it's not worth the cash. I say, rent it, not worthy of buying. (Unless you want to be able to watch... er... stuff... bounce at any time you like.)
Solid Game Mixed With Softcore Porn

Sega Sports has almost always put forth a solid effort when it comes to their games, good examples are any of their NFL games since NFL 2K, their NBA series and the all too addictive Virtua Tennis. In that long standing tradition of great sports games comes Sega's foray into the Volleyball genre with Beach Spikers. Now the first thing that most people have noticed (myself included) about this game is Sega's attempt to make some polygons look like hot chicks. Most would say they succeded, but since I only have eyes for living breathing human beings I couldn't say much, and quite frankly I find this obsession adolescents have with video game chicks pretty sad. With that said, on with the review. The gameplay as with all Sega made games was more than adequate and very intuitive. You don't see your typical bump, set, spike set up as players will occasionally dive for a ball that's out of reach. The service and spike settings are incredibly similar to those of Virtua Tennis right down to the meter showing the power put into the serve or spike. Now for what some might feel are the huge pros and the selling point of the game, but in my opinion are the cons. Sega spent too much time making these charecters attempt to have gamers pop a chub that it's sickening. After every point and I mean EVERY point the players come in close contact with each other to the point that it looks like they're feeling each other up. After you win the game is even worse as it shows hand to ass contact. If you want to see this, go watch a porno, or a music video. It's a shame that a game built on a solid foundation such as this one is clearly being marketed on the point that it has "hot chicks." Hate me if you will but you know I speak truth. All in all solid game marred with what could be defined as softcore porn.
