Slow as a Snail, and Crashes Galore.

Warning! If your hard drive is virtually devoid of any other games saves and soundtracks, give this game a chance. Otherwise do NOT waste your time, because the game WILL crash. (Too many games and soundtracks saved on your hard drive will cause this game to crash about every 20-30 minutes. Unfortunately, Morrowind's website FAQ suggests that if you are suffering from crashes, simply delete your soundtracks and other save games, to free up the needed space for Morrowind. What?! This is inexcusable! Consumers do usually play other games. ) Though the game allows you to quest however you so choose, and permits you the opportunity to create and mold your version of the perfect adventurer, the gameplay is as slow as a snail. The voiceacting, though sparse, is fair, the customization options are plentiful, but the game is far too slow, and far too time consuming for people with lives outside of their bedrooms. Please rent before you consider buying.

I enjoy playing this game, though the loading took a while it was an exciting game. Rent it sometime, buy it even, or wait for the Morrowind Game of the Year to come out and buy that. It's definetely worh buying.

GRAPHICS- 4.0...The models are blocky and colorless. Enviroments get repetitive but the framerate is awesome and the details of items loom wonderbar..you mustn't forget the neat visual options! SOUND- 4.5..Perfect Fantasy Music and cool sound effects are persistant in a good way... even if Voice-Acting is sadly pathetic and the same song is always played! CONTROL- 4.5...Almost Perfect..The basic contols are simple to learn and the camera is just right. Getting in the 5.0's way is poor control options and hard third-person controls! FUN FACTOR- 4.0...Morrowind's huge advancing world and hours upon hours of great RPG gameplay exceed the game to its expectations..it's just the few amount of flaws and "boring after a while" issue that make Morrowind an almost perfect one-of-a-kind awesome fantasy experience!!!
the best rpg of all time

this game is the best rpg of all time. it has the same general idea of D&D. there are quite a few annoying glitches though. besides that, the nature and water affects are great graphics are great, gameplay is good and easy, attack can be difficult at times switching from magic to attack or vice versa. so here is the condensed review. Gameplay- 5.0 great gameplay, sort of like zelda but much better and way more in depth, in my opinion and in many others, the best rpg of all time. the controls are good, graphics, and immersion, wow, dont even get me started in immersion, if you have a life, move it aside cuz this will be your life when you get this game. Controls-4.5 Overall good controlls and handling, but switching from magic to attack can be chaotic in battle, and sometimes youll find yourself jumping instead of attacking. but controlling your character is easy, just like halo. Graphics-5.0 aside from a few blocky common objects and the average color glitch every once in a while, this game has some of the best graphics in a game ever. the water and nature affects are the best. the NPC's have good faces and body shapes, and look real, excellent graphics. Overall-5.0 get this game, it is the best game ever. when i come home i play this game from 4:00 to 11:00 at night, ive been playing it for going on 6 months, and once you get into it, you are in it, you are the character. completely different world. Great Game, if you are a serious RPGer, then this game is for you. NaTHAnDB

Why does this have no correlation with the 1st and 2nd Elder Scrolls? Shouldn't it be just Morrowind? OKay, forget my wining about the little things. The fact is: Morrowind is a good game, not a great game, but a "good" game. Morrowind has much to offer, and it should be taken and handled with care, because the few flaws are severe ones, and also, don't look for all the negative things, because there are many small ones, but many positive things as well. You start out as a prisoner who has been pardoned and are being shipped to Morrowind. When you get there, you get to choose your name, race, sex, age, sign, expertise, and all that other stuff. Once that is done, you have your first mission: to go to Balmora and deliver a package. From then on, you're on your own to do whatever you want! That's what makes Morrowind fun: you can do any damn thing you want! You can be a superhero, a murderer, you name it, you are it! The graphics in Morrowind are decent at best. The worlds are vivid, but the frame rate has some serious problems; watching someone walk ten feet in front of you is like looking at a flipbook. It's amazing that they actually got a PC-based RPG to control solidly on the X-Box, aside the minor problems. The sound is repetitive, but funny in a wierd sort of way. G R A P H I C S - 3.5 The visuals could have been amazing if it weren't for the terrible frame-rate problems with the townspeople and Morrowinders. S O U N D - 4.0 No treats, but the excellent (and soothing) sounds of thunderstorms is extraordinary. C O N T R O L - 3.5 It's not a matter of bad programming or sensitivity: it's a matter of too many functions. F U N F A C T O R - 4.0 Morrowind can be very fun to play. The world is huge, and I mean HUGE! It takes about five minutes for even the X-Box to load up the giant land of Morrowind. There are literally thousands of paths and roads.

INTRO: Morrowind is in a sense hard to describe. Lets put it this way, if you have an Xbox, your supposed to have this game. Any other review who says this game is dumb, bad, or not worth getting, is either mentally challenged or sucks severely at games. Its a nonlinear rpg meaning your free to do what you want, join groups if you want, be good, be bad, kill whoevber you want, steel whatever you want. So many options. In the beginning you create your character race, which there are many, and also wether its a male or female, and the way the hair looks, along with the way the face looks. You creat your name, pick a class, and a sign. Depending on which class and sign you pick depends onwhat kind of stats your character will come out with. You gain experience and levels like every other rpg. Theres just soo much too this game its too much to ecplain. Graphics: The graphics are pretty good, Xbox's graphics can be much better. The characters arent real real smooth but they look great. As for terrain that also is quite good. The part you notice is how big your environments are, I think I spelled that right... Controls: Easy to learn. They are very simple controls. Sound: Wow, sounds is excellent, lets put it this way. I had the Xbox hooked up to my surround and had it set on dolby sound, wow oh wow. When it would storm, and there would be thunder and rain, it was so real sounding you couldnt belive it. The sound on this game by far is great. Gameplay AKA Fun Factor: Even if you dont like rpg's I think you would like this game, because when I play it, I don't look at it as much as an rpg, but more as an adventure game. If you dont want to buy it, which you should, then rent it. But once you rent it youl wish you bought it. I don't know what else to say, this game by far is one of the best games I ever played. This game starts out great... dropped off in the middle of nowhere, with nothing do use except a character generator. But then I soon realized that being a thief is really quite pathetically Useless, seeing as how almost everyone sees you when sneaking anyway. Then i realized the mage was useless, because not only is it hard as hell to hit the guy with the spell, but it does absolutely no damage anyway. So I set off as a warrior... and once again realized... fighting in this game sucks no matter what you do. Its boring and repetitive, and the quests after about the first 10 are so utterly incomprehensably hard for the level you are at that time, its just plain stupid. (try to route the necromancers from the north with a level 5 nord warrior). So personally I dont like it... but i must commend the designers on that guy who falls from the sky and gives you the scroll that makes you jump about 400 miles. not worth 70 bucks though. ugh.
