Knights Of The Old Republic

I want to start off by saying this game takes too long to become a Jedi ( or Sith ) man you got to resuce Bastailla on Taris. Then you come into the Jedi world do some b.s. levels and then you face Darth Malack but then you face Batsitlla !!!

Instant Classic

Knights of the Old Republic is the first RPG i've played, and it's opened my eyes to a whole new genre. This game is awesome. Once you start playing, you can't stop. It hooks you in and before you know it part of the day is over. At some points there is non-stop action, the game never gets boring. Although the game is a little short, it will keep you going until it's over. And the option to go to either the light side or the dark side is awesome. If your an RPG fan or a person who likes good games, I would recommend picking this up.

My favorite RPG

I'm usually not big on RPGs, but KOTOR just changed my mind. Set 4000 years before Episode I, you can choose your destiny and follow the light or dark side. This is not merely a gimmick; it actually affects the ending you recieve, adding massive replay value. The graphics are above par, and the sound is phenomenal. Every single person you talk to has actual voice acting. I hope more games do this, as it works wonderfully. Another feature worth pointing out is its battle system, which works using the d20 ruleset familiar to D&D players. It plays out as if in real-time, but is entirely turn based, letting you pause the action at any time. I was skeptical when I first rented it, but trust me, this is a must-have for any Xbox owner.

Knights of the Old Republic shines on the Xbox.

I hear that the game did not appeal to the playstation users, but on the Xbox it was totally awesome. The graphics were not amazing, but it had great originality, and freedom. Also, it is as addicting as hell!! Although it is another one of those games that you would wish to last forever, it is beatable in about twenty hours. The weapons and armor are absolutely great. Fully customizable (especially cool when you get to make your own lightsaber), and millions of different kinds of armor combinations. It also gives you the ability to play and beat the game on the light side and the dark side, both of which are totally fun. Although the graphics were slightly dissapointing (could have been helped by better cinematics), this game will keep you on the edge of your seat, playing until your eyes bleed.

What's all the fuss about?

Everyone seems to like this game, but I don't get why. Never have I more hated turn-based gameplay. The graohics are good, but for a Star Wars game, this just isn't fun. You start out with a regular sword. What is that!?!! This is the future! I don't see why it is a reward to get a lightsaber, when you should start out with it. Also, there's too much running around doing things for people. Where's all the action? This game is ok, but it's not worth buying, or playing the whole way through.

Holy Wookie!!! A GOOD Star Wars game!

Let's face it. Star Wars games have a reputation of being horrible. Star Wars : Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) is the one beautiful exception Lucas Arts needed to save the series. KOTOR does almost everything right. The story is actually interesting compared to other RPGs. You build your own Jedi and what starts as simple rescue mission, becomes the Republic's last hope to win the war against the Sith. You and your party of droids, freelancers, Wookies, and soldiers must work together to defeat the Dark Sith, Malak. The gameplay is awesome. You are given almost limitless freedom. You can chose the path of the Jedi and be a guardian of peace and harmony or you can chose the path of the Sith and wreck havoc and destruction across the galaxy. These choices between light and dark alter everything from the reaction of civilians to the Jedi skills you can acquire. These different paths give the game a definite replay value. The graphics of this game are nothing special, but not too bad. The cinematics are well done and the game moves smoothly during intense battles. The landscapes are interesting and there are a lot of fine details. The sound is amazing. All the characters have voice overs, which is rare for a RPG. The orchestral pieces and original Star Wars music give this game points as well. The weaponry sound affects are well done. You charge into battle with the sound of blasters and Lightsabers clashing all around you. The controls are the game's weak point. They can feel clunky during the real-time combat. You will also find your team mates getting stuck on random objects in a room and going back to get them over and over will get repetitive. But these small defects don't kill the game at all. Despite the clunky controls and the occasional glitch, this game is near perfect. KOTOR offers a creative experience in the Star Wars universe and has loads of replay value. Now, young Padawan, go chose your destiny and may the Force be with you.

A majestic jewl of a game

KOTOR is a miraculos spectacle of a game that stole days of my life at a time. The first thing that you do is create your character. There are three different classes, Scout, Scoundrel, and Soldier in both male and female body types. After you chose your sex and class you go down standard RPG territory by choosing your skills, feats, portraits, and of course your name. Then you start your epic quest through the galaxy to either vanquish evil or become its master You are awoken to your ship, the endar spire, being attacked by a sith fleet. You then set of with your roomate to find the jedi master Bastilla, here you learn the basic fight, yet complex, fighting system of the game as you battle through the ship to the escape pods. After you get off the Endar Spire you land of Taris then the true fun of this game begins. You and carth, a famos pilot you met on the endar spire, and set off to find bastilla. Along the way you meet a wookie by the name of Zalabar and a Talwik named mission. After you find Bastilla you set off to a jedi planet to learn how to be a jedi. Their you pick what kind of jedi you want to be and that determains your lightsaber color. On this planet you discover something called a star map and you head off to find all the star maps that will lead you to the siths ultimate wepon.. the star forge... This is easyly one of the best and most complexe story ever and the fact that you can alter it depending on your decisons its the best. I love this game and I feel that if you play it you'll love it too. This game is better then every starwars movie and game all rolled it to one mega- game. this is the best RPG ever realesed and you should buy it.
