Madden 2003 is probably the best football game I have ever played on any system. There are so many things to do that your gonna play it for hours. You can create and manage teams and players, play mini-camps, make plays and do a lot more. The only thing that I don't like is the control set-up. There are so many buttons that it takes a while to figure stuff out. Also, it is hard to play at first cause the plays are hard to understand but if you really know football, then you'll love this game. The graphcis and sound are also exellent and make this game really good. It's reccomended for anyone who likes football.

Great graphics, controls, player models, what else could you ask for from a football game? The franchise is a definite buy if you're a football fan in my book, but, for the hardcore gamer, this may be one of those games on your little brother's gaming list. The game's difficulty unlike NFL 2K3's is a little questionable. Even on the All Madden setting, you can still run it up the field on a kick return for a td. Great game, but for the true football fan, this may be just a rent, if you're looking for some tough, nose to nose tackles, go to NFL2K3, but if you're looking for a game that may be toned down to your style look to Madden, which may be back on its throne this season.
NFL Madden is always great

About 2 weeks ago in my review of NCAA Football 2003 I called it the greatest football game ever, but cited that I had yet to play this game. I would like to recind my earlier statement, Madden has reclaimed it's throne. Though the absence of the now retired Pat Summerall is the first huge difference you will notice from last years edition, Al Michaels adequately fills what is a big pair of shoes as Madden's new play by play man. The addition of Mellisa Stark from Monday Night Football on the sidelines is nice as well. As far as the controls go, they're still harder than all hell to get a hang of, and the addition of a left juke move (L) is hard to get used to at first (seeing as the Z button now controls the stiff-arm). As with just about every game the boys from Redmond put out, the graphics are jaw dropping to say the least. The audio is there though players are rarely ever mentioned by their names. The Franchise Mode is nice giving you 30 Seasons of play, but I am yet to find a Single Season Mode. The preseason schedules are included here too. Madden also boasts a huge amount of teams outside the 32 teams strapping up this season. Historic teams like the '90-'93 Buffalo Bills and more LA/Oakland teams than you can shake a stick at, along with all NFL Europe are included in the game. New jerseys from Seattle and Washington are included as are offseason trades like Warrick Dunn/Jamal Anderson, etc. The biggest, and most anticpated addition this year is the mini camp mode. I spent about 3 hours on that before I even started on my franchise. Defensive drills, rushing drills and clutch kicking are all included in what is probably the most fun I've had in years. Especially since they still make Emmitt Smith look like a God. All in all Madden is the best football game ever, and next time, I'll just keep my mouth shut.
Sweet Football game

Madden NFL 2001 sucked. I didn't play 2002, but I played this one and it is great. Great graphics, controls are easy, and the commentary is fresh. If your a football gamer (I'm not) or just a sports gamer (I am) go get this game now.
=) Madden will be Madden !

Alright, let me start off by saying Madden of this new console generation has yet to disappoint. The game is great, o' course. Excellent tune ups and additions have been made. Some to please the whinners and of course to be the #1 football game in the market. However, me being an avid football player and avid football fan all my life, I can't help it but to point out things that I think would make the game alot better. I say this because some things that i was hoping their Football Consultants (if they have any, im talking bout players) would be able to point out, still remain absent. This game...the average player cannot find flaws, but me, I'm really picky, but i think it would make the game better. I've been in the field and the crowd has part in the game. Madden2k3 did improve the crowd, BUT, the way they react is kinda C-. The people of Visual Concepts (NFL2K series) managed to make the crowd react realistically to the play. Crowds should light up when as soon as someone breaks a run...u know..from low to high, not after the play is over. Now don't get angry..relax. The game is still banging, and it could use more after play hi jinx, a few crowd improvements (more), and a little more TEAM response after a TD, INT..etc. I might be asking for too much but hey...i thought i was asking too much for there to be a game with play by play back in the day. Overall, the game is great. Not as good CUSTOM TEAM BUILDER as NCAA2K3 but no matter. MADDEN 2k3 takes it to the house!
Madden as always delivers

Madden is sweet. The graphics are up to par as expected. The sounds are as always decent. Al michaels will be joining John in the booth this time and no offense to Pat but it seems better a fresh change. The comentary isn't mono tone as before. The AI has been upped players move on the field more realistic and more responsive. Madden has extras such as Mini Games and Mini Camps to keep you going.A play editor has been added which is also nice.Madden in all is a nicely rounded package. He does have some stiff competition this year like last with Segas 2k3 and Microsofts Fever coming back even harder this year.I ll admit I played thier offerings last time and still found myself coming back to Madden. Like EA Sports says "If its in the game..." Well with Madden it is.
