Nothing Spectacular

This isn't bad but its nothing that disserves a big "WOW!" The puzzles went a bit overboard and the tank like controles will cause a little frustration here and there. Graphically, the game looks great but with set camera angles, you will be unable to see where you want to see in some places. It feels pretty weird to play a game this bloody on a Nintendo console. However, this game can not compete with Silent Hill 2 or Fatal Frame in the fear factor department. Overall, this is a decent game and is worth buying.

This game is fun, don't get me wrong, but my only problem with this game is the mansion is entirely revamped, and magazines are too far scattered. Other than that this game is awsome, great graphics, and better voice overs, make this better than the PSX original.
This will scare the crap out of you! A whole night of horrors

I loved the original game on PS1 even with bad controls and lame dialogue. This game is the reason I bought a Game Cube. The graphics are the best on any system period. This game is scarier than my sister on a bad hair day. I just wish those damn Zombies would stay dead already. Capcom messed up when they let them come back after awhile. This game does still suffer from no replay value. I really don't like back traking time and time again. I did hear a rumor that the next two in the series will only be slightly enhanced from the PS1 version which would be a shame. If you own a Game Cube buy this game, if you don't it's your loss.

While I as a playstation 2 owner am quite steemed at the fact that capcom has betrayed just about all sony owners, I have to say that this game is rather groovy. The graphics are spamtastic and new changes and additons are to die for. There is so much more stuff to do and so much more to experience. While I am not a Gambecube owner, i have experieced this masterpiece, thanks to my fellow gamer James Hellfire, and am very much considering adding a new system to my collection, but I am skeptical about doing so considering how I got rammed in the keister when I bought the 64 as a second system. Needless to say my playstation was put to good use while my 64 sat in the conrner collecting dust. hopefully when I purchase my gamecube i'll find more use for it than a cup holder.

Resident Evil for the Gamecube is a beautiful sight to behold. It combines gorgeous prerendered backgrounds with great looking character models, and the lighting effects are truly excellent. However when it comes to sound the sound effects are good, but the music is rarely ever there. If you've ever played the original you'll know how much the music helped create the overall freaky mood. Just like the other RE games, they made it into more of a game with cheap scares then a game where the surrounding atmosphere is enough to scare the hell out of you. The game has some other nuisances like having to set the zombies on fire to get rid of them. This means you need to carry around your lighter and your fuel can which take up precious space in your inventory. Despite some flaws Resident Evil turns out to be a very good game over all, and I would suggest it to any Gamecube owner to play through. That goes for newbies to the series and with the new graphics and some new areas to explore veterens too (though you'll get a been there done that feeling).
