Spider-man the movie

Spider-man the movie for the Xbox Spider-man the movie for the Xbox is properly described as one of the top ten best superhero games of the century. The reason behind this is a story based on a blockbuster movie, excellent gameplay, outstanding graphics (for a 2002 game anyway), and good voice acting from Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe. The gameplay is a spider-fan's dream. Its actually like being the webslinger himself; you can do webswinging, acrobatic leaps, and awesome combat moves that contribute to a very unique experience. For the combat to start off your only left with a few attacks so you won't have the most coolest and powerful attacks such as Scissor Kick, Dive Bomb, Sting, Palm or High Stomp and in order for you to use these special attacks you have to go and look for gold Spider icons. There are a total of 30 different combinations and you have a variety of stylish or powerful attacks. This is really good 'coz it extends the game a bit. When you execute each of these stylish and powerful combat attacks they really emphasise Spider-man's character, he has superstrength, superspeed, superagility and the ability to spin organic spider webs; and the combat incorporates all those traits. Some attacks are much more powerful than others, but some are faster and they can save from heavy damage. What really impressed me about the game was the ability to jump on bad guys back even on the aerial villains'. In the indoor levels you can basically do the ground combo attacks that I mentioned above which l thought the animations for them look spectacular, do aerial acrobatic attacks, stealth mode, lift up cars and throw them which are very good features and make the indoor levels great, but the outdoor levels are really the ones that take the cake. You can swing around from place to place, do aerial acrobatics and aerial acrobatic attacks and several other cool things. But even with these spectacular feats the gameplay would've truly made you feel as if you were Spider-man if the web didn't stick to the sky and swinging through New York traffic was allowed and if the camera system was much more improved. Heck, I just wanted to throw the damn controller right at the screen 'coz it was so "%^$*(! frustrating! But overall the gameplay rocks! P.S. You can play as goblin when you finish the game on hard and in the Xbox version you fight Kraven the Hunter as an extra villain.

Spidy's back in action!

Spider-Man: The Movie, for the XBox gaming console, is a great first buy and really shows what the XBox entertainment industry is all about. Fantastic visuals support an easy to learn button configuration, and new/secret movies like Spiderman's web punch and the Green Goblin's fire run. Many cheats are available for this game, which makes some gamers stride away from the task of beating the game without any help, and pulls most of them into easily mastering the game the easy way. Overall, Spidy doesn't lose any of its flash from the real movie, and shows just as much action.

is he strong? Listen Bub, he's got radioactive blood...

This game is THE game you have waited for to buy an XBox. The graphics are top notch. The camera angles get kind of messed up when fighting in the air, but are overall pretty good. The control can be a little tricky when you're surrounded and you're hitting buttons like crazy. But once you learn the combo's, you'll do ol' Spidey proud. You can't top Bruce Campbell in the tutorial. If you liked him as Ash in the Evil Dead Series, you'll love him as your tutor. The game itself, I thought, was a little too linear. I was looking for more of an RPG/Action, like Shenmue, game with free roaming envirnments. I would have loved to sing across NY Harbor and climbed the Statue of Liberty. Or even went inside the Empire State Building. Or even jump down on top of a Taxi for a quick ride across town(not during rush hour). I love Spider-man and have for many, many years. The only 2 things that could have made this game better... Non-Linear gameplay 1960's TV Series Teheme Song Until next time True Believers...

Spider-Man: The Movie [X-Box]

The web-slinger is back, but this time he's going through a bombardment of villains. The controls are impossible at first until you get used to it. The hidden surprises in this game are cool also. If you accumulate a certain amount of points in your game, you unlock a mode where you can bowl with Spiderman, and a few thugs as well. When you beat it on super hero, you unlock the Green Goblin's son. He can use the glider and all the little goodies that he throws at Spidey throughout those levels. However, the best part of the game is Spidey's witty remarks about his villains. Just before he wipes the floor with them he embarrasses them to no end. Not to mention you fight Kraven the Hunter for two extra levels in the middle of your quest (only for the XBOX version!!!) The Final Verdict: Worth your money, especially if you liked the movie. Oh man this game kicks azz no doubt about it. Just to be able to play as spiderman was awesome and then after you beat it on super hero you get to play as the green goblin so it isn't only spiderman!! The controls are easy to learn and it isn't hard to webswing unlike the older games.

GUESS IT WASNT FOR ME!!!

MAYBE ITS ME BUT I DID NOT ENJOY THIS GAME MUCH, SEEMED LIKE ONE STAGE WAS IMPOSSIBLE THEN THE NEXT STAGE WAS A BREEZE. THE CAMERA SUCKED VERY BADLY, I THINK THIS GAME IS MORE FOR 14 AND YOUNGER AGES.

Review: Spider-Man

Could it have done better? Maybe, a little polish here and there, the usual stuff. But that lack of extra tricks 'n' treats doesn't kill the action. It's impossible to stray from Spider-Man. I'm sure everyone has dreamed of being able to spin webs and climb walls after seeing the movie, well, that's impossible, but here's the next best thing. The sound is beatifully structured, and the visuals (especially on the buildings) is simply amazing. A few bugs here and there, for example the designers were so preocupied with getting Spidey to climb to amazing heights, that they forgot that some people would've like to explore a little more, so not being able to go onto the streets and swing between cars was a bit disappointing. Yet, all in all, and despite the game's tiny length (takes about 2 hours), Spider-Man can easily be called a "great game." G R A P H I C S - 4.5 Beautiful landscaping and reflections on the buildings. Everything is done perfectly, so its a shame the models are a little choppy around the edges. S O U N D - 5.0 Tobey Macguire and Willem Dafoe put on a show. Sometimes it's fun just to play a level so you can hear them argue! And the other non-celebrity voice-overs are good too. C O N T R O L - 4.0 Okay, maybe its the programming, but crawling around on the ceiling and running on foot can be a real pain. Although web swinging and zipping is a breeze. F U N F A C T O R - 4.5 A great addition to the action lover's collection. Spider-Man is guarenteed to keep one hooked well after purchase. Simply because its so fun. If only the designers would've allowed more freedom in exploration...

Now is your chance to do whatever a spider can.

Spider-Man the movie is pretty @#$% good. Its good at least to a certain extent.the game is way too short. Some control problems. Not nearly enough secrets to keep players attentions. The coustums don't do a @#$% thing.Very little replay value.Green goblin has no cinemas. Not enough webbing. The good things about the game are you cant see toby mcguires face that much. The game is very fun.Spider-man bowling is pretty cool. You never see have to look at Bruce Cambells ugly mug.Thats all folks
