I cant stand...

Tony Hawk. Not the game, the acual person. Im telling you that guy is such a nerd. After playing the original Tony Hawks Pro Skater i was hooked. I swear i played the demo over a hundred times, But i was disaponted when the 3rd in the series came out. After playing the first one i got hooked on skateboarding, unfortunatly (much like other nerds) i sucked at it. In my opinion the 2nd was the best, it just gave me the most overall fun out of all the Tony Hawks Ive played (1,2,3, and 4) And this game gave me the least fun. It seemed the series lost its edge, i dont know if it was the switch to the new generation consols or what but it just seems all the funs gone. The grapics are Ok i guess. You can really tell it was ported from the PS2, the Xbox is capible of so much more. It just really bothered me that it didnt look better. The soundtrack is sort of a minus also, alot of anoying rock and rap songs and only a few to enjoy (use your own soundtrack off the hard drive), and the sounds get repititive a lot. the control is basically the same. The game is a lot faster paced than the previous ones and so it takes a while to get used to. The acual game engine is what really got to me. That used to be my favorite part of the game, just riding around and doing tricks, buts its plain not fun anymore. With all the complaining its still a somewhat solid game and if your not a fan of the seris and havent played it rent it first, But rent 4 instead. Its a lot better without the old 2 minute time limits and is a bit more fun. Its mostly a lot like the 3rd but a few inprovements make it better. I would give it a .5 more. There 2 reviews in one.

Great fun from a great title.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, for the XBox gaming console is an oldy, but surely a game you want to pick up after dishing out 200 bucks for your XBox console. Seeing that it is an older game, you should be able to find it for about 20 bucks or so at places like Sam Goody and Target. Gameplay difficulty is medium, seeing that you are timed with your single session levels (on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, there are no time limts). Nothing bad to say about this game, and is a game you should not hesitate to get, although, the newer version, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 is the better buy, with better graphics and no time limits.

Pure insane fun wiht comes back for more!

While the two reviews on this page are right in a way (no one likes Tony Hawk) this game is great. Other skaters and the ability to make your own keep it great. System Link (with gamespy can be used to go online) adds to the replay. THe graphcis are much better than the PS2 or GCN, and run smoother, but Framerate drops some times. The music rocks, and the ability to use your own music is great. Park Editor can use work, but everything esle is top notch. Think of an 80 year old lady with white hair, I made her in the game, HAHAHAH!

stop making games of that old fart

Well first of all I think this game was a waste of money. Because it is so simular to the GC and PS2 but with tweaked up graphics that dont even look impressive. and there is no type in cheats you have to freakin beat everthing in order to get everything unlocked and that sucks and the controls are crappy as well it is too hard to land anything.
