After playing the first one this was a definate improvement. Graphics are much better and story is still very good. Battles are bascially the same where the charactors move around the screen and you can combine magic with weapons for a more powerfull attack combo. I liked this game and hope they make another one. Fin to play as well... not boring and keeps you invloved.
they communicate very well considering they don't have mouths.

Grandia II is great for middle aged role-players the graphics are very good but when out side of a battle its not that hard to get lost in the level or figure out where to go this game was great but not final fantasy great if you want a beter game i suggest Final Fantasy X

When I first saw this game, I was persuaded to buy it because it was under $20 used. I'm glad I bought it at that price, because I doubt its worth much more. Yes, this is fun game with a great battle system, but everything else in the game is pretty lame and boring. From the DC quality graphics to the cheesey voice-overs, you'll be sick of this game before its even halfway over. The characters are another flaw. You have this guy named Ryudo, who is an jerk with an ego, and this little annoying girl named Elena, and then this little boy whose name I forgot because he's so damned annoying, and all kinds of other characters. The one I hate the most is probably Mareg, specifically his voice. I don't even want to get started on how they say their special ability before they unleash it. And the God-awful music doesn't help anything at all... On the bright side, the game takes hours to complete, just as any RPG does, and has one of the greatest battle systems I've seen. If you've beat FFX and want another RPG to satisfy you until something else comes out, this is something to look into. However, if you expect something that like mentioned game, be prepared to trade it in at GameStop.

Grandi II is one of the best RPGs I have ever played. Sweet game play sweet graphics. Highly detailed caracthers, and some tight speacil attacks. Overall one of the coolist RPGs one PS2.

The game has a story that gets you interested and the game keeps you playing, even though there are alot of problems. First the voice acting isnt up to par. The voice of Roan is annoying, as well as Elena's. There are many slow downs when enter towns that makes you dread when your characters talk to each other when they enter because the words go by so slow. I played the whole game without taling to the villagers because they dont say anything important. The battles are great which is a must in rpgs because you have to do it so often. If you are into rpgs even a little dont let this one slip by because besides some flaws it is a great game that keeps you interseted till the end.
The main character sucks.

This would have been a great game if it weren't for the main character, Rhydo (or something like that). He is a full blown pessimist and does not make the game fun to play. Not only that, he cusses half the time and he even used the GD word. I got so sick of it that I stopped playing it and deleted it from my memory card. Not only that, the story is uninspired and copies off all of the other RPGs out there. The factors that save this game from being rated a 1 are the gameplay and the customization system. The graphics aren't great, but they aren't horrible either. As I said, this would have been a great game if it weren't for the main character.
I FINNISHED THIS GAME AT LEVEL 54
